SportsRe: NFF Goes For Foreign Coaches by Chiderad(m): 3:07pm On Jun 20, 2015
vfactor:
Shame?? Why shame? Nigerian coaches couldn't really prove their selves with the national teams they handled. They had the talents and players with great skill set, but no technical know-how and game plan for each game. That's why u see our boys and girls do the playing while the other teams just observe and score us when they want and game over! We need coaches who can read matches well, understand opponent weak areas and develop a strategy to exploit these weaknesses and hide ours.

I would like the NFF to hire a highly technical and tactical coach who has a penchant for youth development, rather big name prayers. They can also make our local coaches his understudy, so that in the nearest future we could have world class homegrown coaches!
Nigerian coaches don't learn anything, pure and simple!

When was the last time a Nigerian coach sat down and read good managerial books that will be of immense value to him and his career? Carry out a survey, please. I'm sure some of them have not read a single book this year and they want to compete with those who are constantly self developing themselves - mentally, physically & even spiritually.

I repeat no Nigerian coach has the technical depth to function at the international stage. And i stand to be corrected.

NFF, please go for a foreign coach that will add immense value to us.

GET ANGRY!

I mean it... Get *REALLY, REALLY* angry in your spirit, but do not sin!

Get ANGRY anytime you have to do something that you don't really want to do but because of constraints you are crippled and are forced against your will (like going to work FOR SOMEBODY ELSE early in the morning)...

Get ANGRY when you have to report to your superior who is 5, 7, 10 years younger but because of better academic qualifications & experience, you’ve no choice but to report to him…

Get ANGRY for all the times you've always wanted to buy something nice and cool for yourself such as a tokunboh or new car, going on a vacation, take the day off, or whatever it is but couldn't afford it...

Get ANGRY if you've ever worried when the Nigerian stock market plummets... and you’re constantly losing money…

Get ANGRY if there has ever been an opportunity to improve your life or the life of people around you, but you couldn't take advantage of it because of financial limitations or time...

Get ANGRY if what you *REALLY* wish you could do in this life isn't happening YET...
..and you know what? Time isn’t anyone’s slave. It’s fast running.

Why are my shouting it to you to get ANGRY? But of course, there are obvious reasons. “Don't all the self-help materials tell us to keep a positive attitude... that things will "work out"huh

Guess what? 99% of the time... THEY'RE WRONG!

You need to be red-hot, boiling ANGRY about the way things are RIGHT NOW... It's only when you GET ANGRY, get fed up and get really pissed off with the way things have been or the way things are now that you will take the ACTION necessary to change your current situation and make it into something better.

Naturally as humans, two desires drive us:

1) The desire to gain pleasure.

2) The desire to avoid pain.

And the latter is stronger than the former. We are much more motivated to *avoid pain* than to gain pleasure.

Yes, we are all driven by the carrot and the stick, but fear of the stick will get the average Nigerian moving a lot faster than a salad at the end of a hard days work...

Why do you *really* go to work every day?

Is it because you’re pursuing your passion and some wonderful goals? I truly hope so!
But most people just get up and go to work because they FEAR losing their job. Even now so getting another one can be likened to a cow squeezing itself through the eye of a needle. And, really, no one in his/her right senses like begging for alms to get them through the night... The desire to avoid this horrific pain is EXTREMELY motivational, isn't it?! USE IT!

That’s all that is required.

If you know that pain motivates you, MAKE YOURSELF FEEL PAIN so that you will TAKE ACTION and change your current circumstances. It's OK to use your imagination here.

Think about what would happen if you got fired and couldn't find another job for the next 6, 9, 12 months... How freaked out would you get then? Envision and feel that.

Think about what would happen if you simply did nothing different for the rest of your life and continued to live the "status quo", do-what's-expected-of-you lifestyle that's got you this far, and left many of your most sacred dreams and ambitions on the table.

No wonder a sage once said, ‘it is madness expecting a separate result while doing the same thing over and over again’.

How painful will it be when you look back after so many years and then you come to the knowing that you never even tried to do what your heart was telling you that you *really* wanted to do in this life? Feel that.

Think about what not having enough time or money is NOT ALLOWING you to do that you really wish you could do... Feel that.

THEN GET ANGRY!

..... and then RIGHT NOW, before the feeling fades away or is numbed out of existence by your favourite television show or alcoholic beverage, MAKE A DECISION to change. That's all it takes.

As soon as you decide that you've HAD ENOUGH with the mediocrity you've accepted up to this point, the world shifts on its axis and will present you with new ways to think, new ways to act, new ways to LIVE.

Come to think of it. Your colleagues that are doing well for themselves don’t have two heads. If it entails that you go for a deliverance to sort spiritual issues, please do.(MFM is there to help you) Whatever ethical and legitimate action that needs to be taken for you to move forward, PLEASE DO!

Big doors swing on small hinges and the hinges that open the doors of opportunity are always the DECISIONS we make about what we will and what we won't settle for in our life. If you allow yourself to get ANGRY ENOUGH, the "settling point" for what you can and will receive in your life will be raised and you will experience a better future... a future more closely aligned with WHAT YOU WERE BORN TO DO here on Earth.

So GET ANGRY, TAKE ACTION, and GET PREPARED to *be happy* as you start creating your life on your terms the way you always hoped it would be... and it can my friend - it really, truly can!

When I *GOT ANGRY*, I decided to find better ways to make my living contrary to what my parents, friends and society dictated impliedly, expressly, consciously and unconsciously to me ... I'm so glad I did because now I'm living my life as ordained of God and helping others along the line.

I’ve made up my mind to serve mankind – service to humanity.

To Your Breaking Through & Happiness!

BusinessRe: Which Type Of Business Can I Start With 100k. by Chiderad(m): 12:44pm On Apr 08, 2015
Dear all,

what this gentleman needs is a clear-cut description on the type of business he can do with N100k or less.

If there's any site you can direct him to or a report that can be sent to him so that he can read and increase learning
and make informed decision, that i think will help him a lot.

Let's be specific rather than being general in our response. Let's endeavour to help whosoever is in need of assistance.

@op: I hope your N100k start up capital does not include the cost of a laptop, internet modem and a gen. set because these 3
items are key regardless of the type of business you are looking at investing your money into.

There are a couple of businesses you can do with N100k and that means that you'll have to do a lot of research. For example,
go to the importing business thread and do your research. Read through the postings and counsels from those that have tried
their hands in importing business. Take note of the mistakes they made, take note of the type of business/ products they buy
and sell, understand the margin they make on a unit of item sold, understand the way they establish their market to which they
sell their products/services and jot everything down.
|
You have to be sure that you've done your research very well before sticking out your neck. Business is not as easy as you think it is.

It takes time to build business. More so, make it a point of duty to read business & marketing books all the time.

I wish you the very best.

Regards.

BusinessHaving An Accounting Software Run Your Business Is Not Debatable by Chiderad(op): 4:23pm On Apr 07, 2015
If you think that starting your own business is a stroll in the park, then you might be in for a rude shock. A lot of interrelated tasks come into play. Aside from developing good products and having enviable services at your disposal, you still have a responsibility to sell to the market.

One of the most essential considerations in running a business is the ability to effectively manage your finances. The numerical language of any business, whether big or small, is accounting.

The business space is always loaded with work pressure. There is an unerring need for effective and efficient handling of accounts and finances of a business. Every small & medium size business with a strong prospect for growth need to be organized to achieve success and to do this the business owner must incorporate the appropriate accounting structure.

Business units set goals, be it short or long term and to reach those goals, management accounting information is required for planning, decision making and sound strategy formulation.

Manually engaging all the accounting work can be troublesome and prone to a lot of errors. Pressure and frustration which can terribly affect the business are just a few of the challenges one will encounter doing it manually.

As the owner of a small and growing business, you have to know where funds come from and where it goes. If you decide to do accounting tasks manually, it will undoubtedly consume a great portion of your time, expose you to challenges not budgeted for and the intended purpose for which the accounting information is required will be defeated.

So, the smartest way around it is having your business run seamlessly on accounting softwares.

Below are some of the benefits you’ll derive using an accounting software

1. You can easily access your business status at the click of a button and at a glance you’ll see the picture of your business – establishing debtors (receivables) position, bank balances without calling your banks’ accounts officer, know when payment is due to vendors, extract financial report of your business and for relevant period

2. You can finish all the accounting tasks promptly. You will be able to manage your growing business without too much hassles

3. You’ll have amazing business tools to make accounting tasks a lot simpler. That way, you can manage all the financial information of the business effectively.

4. Insights that help you make better cashflow decisions for the business.

5. Customised dashboards and management centers so that you stay in the know of what happens in your business

6. Amazing tracking system for inventory thus helping the business bottom line

7. In-depth audit and security functions that helps protect your business in the event of fire outbreak

These are just a few of the benefits amongst others that a business owner should derive using an accounting software. Moreso, accounting software usage cuts across all industry where there is an exchange of money – buying and selling taking place.

In making a buying decision for an accounting package, there are a couple of variables to consider. One of which you have to determine the software’s functionalities. It should be user-friendly and moreso, it should resemble the paper counterpart so there’s no confusion when the package is finally deployed. Once you’re familiar with the software’s layout, you can easily explore its functionalities.

No doubt, there are a couple of accounting softwares sold off the shelf in the market. If your business is making less than N1b in revenue, then Sage 50, formerly known as Peachtree is the best for you. But if your business is churning out N1b and above in revenue, QuickBooks readily comes to mind.

In choosing accounting packages, you also need to consider your staff strength. You can find accounting software that is suited for small businesses with less than 25 employees. Some other softwares are suited for large businesses with bigger number of employees.

A software that is suited for small businesses helps the business owner analyze financial data, customize reports like transaction history, income statement (profit or loss), statement of financial position (balance sheet) check details, reconciliation details, and many more. By simply looking at the various reports, you can already determine your business status. Some software also offers built-in features like forecasting tools. These tools can be used to manage business risks and control cost of operation.

If you’re running a small business, it is time to do your business a whole of favour by engaging accounting software. By doing so, you can secure your business’ future and you can be certain that all your accounting & financial tasks are handled effectively.

Feel free to share this piece with your friends. It might just benefit someone.

knocking around the corner for you.

I wish you all the best.
BusinessYour Business - Tax Audits - Its Exposure by Chiderad(op): 1:44pm On Apr 07, 2015
Every Year during tax time many Nigerian businesses start to get afraid because they have to prepare their tax returns. This task causes anxiety for many, and it is avoided to the last minute for many others. Most of us know that if the FIRS & LIRS (Lagos State) is involved then we have reason to be afraid. Audits are on the rise and they can be very intrusive and intimidating.

It is important to understand what causes an audit and how to know if your returns will be red flagged for an audit.

Most taxpayers are unaware that the FIRS & LIRS utilizes a certain formula to calculate certain exposures on their return. So here are a few things to look out for, if found, will get you audited every single time. First excessive deductions will get flagged; dependents get flagged because fraud with dependents is on the rise. Rental property is also item that gets flagged.

When an item gets flagged this means the FIRS or LIRS will pull your returns aside and take a deeper look at it. They then look at your past three years of returns to see if these are items you reported before or if these are new items. If these items are new and have not been reported before, you will receive an audit letter.

If you work in a certain profession you are surely more prone to get audited. There are several professions that the Tax authority assumes automatically cheats on their taxes. Those business concerns include automobile dealers, doctors, dentists, attorneys, etc. Although it is not fair for the FIRS to prejudge any profession, the fact is they do this all of the time. It is a little known secret they assume you will never find out.

The smartest thing that taxpayers can do is to be sure to protect themselves against such intrusions by ensuring their returns are prepared properly and have little to no risk of being audited. Once you are audited, you are more likely to continue to be audited every year after that. Protect yourself and avoid unnecessary exposure that guarantees your taxes being audited.

Below are some tips that will help you reduce your chances of being audited.

• Have proof of all your deductions
• Have report cards for all dependents claimed
• Have receipts for all expenses
• Have copies of all your tax forms
• If you are a business owner, make sure to have separate business account
• Keep all copies of your bank statements. If you’ve been audited once, an auditor will ask for the past year of bank statements
• Have tax return prepared by a seasoned accountant that can offer audit representation

Taxes are certain so staying ahead of the game is key.
