rottennaija: Why are the all depending on gas? Where coal should also be invested in. IMO Gas is more ecologically friendly than coal. Though we still need to find viable options for our coal deposits. |

Well I wanted to open this thread but had stalled until I saw on front page the worst TV ads.
Some companies still get it right, and a lot of research is now put into creating catchy ads.
What have been your favourite adverts, say, in the last one year?
I'll take the new UBA and STANBIC ads, as well as the recent Free tomorrow ad by GLO. |
Politics › Re: The Saudi-arabia - Iran Row And Nigeria's Budget by chidibond(op): 8:07am On Jan 05, 2016 |
DjAndroid: That is if Nigeria is left out of the row. Remember Iran has not forgotten the killing of the Shiites in Nigeria.
Moreover, I don't think Nigeria can rise up again with oil alone. it may be correct that less than 30% of the budget will be financed by oil sales. However there's no doubt the positive impact an increase in oil prices will have on our foreign reserves. |
Politics › The Saudi-arabia - Iran Row And Nigeria's Budget by chidibond(op): 7:44am On Jan 05, 2016 |
It is no news that there has been escalating tension between the Saudis and the Iranians over the execution of some suspected terrorists. News outlets have been reporting since yesterday, a rally in oil prices as a result of these developments.
MY TAKE I believe that Nigeria being a prominent OPEC member can benefit a lot from this current row. Considering the budget was premised on a benchmark of 36/37 USD PB, increased oil prices can help us fund our bloated budget deficit.
Conclusively, If not for the attendant loss of lives, an escalation of the Middle East crisis should be welcomed by Nigerians.
NB: don't crucify me, war mongering around the world built most developed capitalist economies.

Had to make sure this was in the right section, before one quote 'There is no ......' Is forcefully allocated to my profile.
These rantings are borne out of lack of knowledge of the rule. Like a poster above (laudate) has already explained, its the short hijab that's allowed and not the long one. Pls Muslims should explain this to others clearly, before some fanatics take it as a rallying cry for their usual mayhem, fighting God's battle. |

such high hopes. I pray he delivers
BTW, this is such an interesting piece. Buhari's trust in Fashola is shared by most Nigerians. I expect a major focus on capital expenditure in the 2016 budget and follow-up for implementation.
It may take time, but we'll get there. |
