budaatum: I agree. Ideal. That's why we continue to be confronted with the realities of joblessness and hunger. The leaders love our division too, as it ensures we'd never organise to solve our common problems. Hunger and joblessness does after all not give a flying fuq about anyones' tribe or religion.
My hope is that it stops being ideal, and we make it a reality. Until then, agbado, lol. I want a better Nigeria as much as you do but we are too divided to create that. The leaders have successfully divided us that the tribalism in Nigeria is worse than racism abroad. It is divide and conquer rule. |

budaatum: You make me laugh, thank you.
No one is asking hungry people to rally. Nor is rally the solution to hunger or joblessness, nor will it enable us to elect good leaders.
But I guess this proves the point. We can not organise ourselves because we are hungry, lol, which is why the food giving Tinubu, Atiku, babangida, Peter Obi are the ones we elect then wail that we have bad government and are hungry and jobless.
Education is the solution to hunger, as it teaches people to learn what good leadership is and how to elect it instead of us ignorantly uneducatedly voting for a loaf of bread we'd eat today.
We must perhaps not put our bellies first and vote for food, or we'd continue to starve till we learn. all these things you are saying sounds very ideal but in today's Nigeria where we are divided along tribal and religious line,it is almost impossible to achieve. |

uuzba: - UK people have quality education. Nigeria is just cram to pass without understanding anything. So they don't need to further their education more. - I was busy doing Masters in UK. I never saw a white British student in my class except for one elderly man later on. They were mostly undergrads. Seems that some of fur Masters coursework was also covered in their Undergrad coursework. - At my place of work in UK, I met other British natives, who didn't give an "F" about Uni. They were just looking at me wondering why I left Nigeria to come and stress myself in their country. One lady told me she was going to do fashion designing, straight after secondary school. She will follow her boyfriend and they will start their life. Na that time I carry hand put for waist, dey ask myself question. - One of my course mates was an elderly British man, about 45~50yrs. He has already been working for over 30 years since trade school. But he wanted to apply for one promotion, and they said the candidate must have "Degree". But he didn't want to do BSc. So he just registered for the Master's. And was even teaching the lecturer the latest trends in industry. - The British people wey me I see, face to face, Dem no do Master's O. University was even too hard for them, as they must take out student loan to fund the studies and PAY back later. They just use the loan to drink, smoke, carry girls and party. They don't want to pay back that loan. oyibo no send college education.A country where things work creates working system for everybody no matter your class.even for the unemployed, there is provision for them.people get unemployment benefits for not working.Na Nigeria own Dey always different and if you talk now some Mumu when no know Wetin dem deserve go start to defend the failed system. |

uuzba: In UK, that's exactly what happens. Their locals are all learbing work. It is we Nigerians, Africans that are running there to fund their universities with our money as international students. International students pay 5 times what their own local UK students pay. The money is so sweet for them that they have been coming to Nigeria come and advertise their UK universities. And we keep carrying our hard earned naira to give them. - To their own locals, they only beg them that, "you are likely to get a better job if you get a degree". That's how their universities are advertised on their local radio stations. I listen to UK radio online. So I hear all the adverts. Majority of the UK people are either learning work, or collecting unemployment benefit from their government. Na we Africans carry college education for head pass. Some are using it as japa route sha to leave this hell hole. If the country is truly functioning, you would not need college certificate before you get a job. Do you know that people got big jobs with their ssce way back 20years ago in this country. The country is in a terrible state right now. Even a PhD certificate does not guarantee you a job. |

Ijoba85: Of course I respect people's choices about life but the bone of contention here isn't about that but about tying having a family to economic look of a country and ignoring the purpose of life continuity. Your take was without offspring, you could still imprint a long lasting name for yourself through contributions to humanity which I 100 percent subscribe to. But holding on to that alone would underplay the significance of family and the purpose of life creation. Childbearing within a lineage isn't for name or legacy alone, it's you living on. It's a supposed unexplainable joy and pleasure of the heart you carve for yourself. It's one of the greatest gifts from God to man. You alone can't completely change the look of your lineage for the better , it may take your offspring to do that. That's a great blessing . So, if you do not make out plan to have one, what would God bless ? on the issue of the worsened economic reality,The pastor was very clear and very correct. He said "give birth to the number of kids you can be responsible for". Are you aware some persons in their 30s and 40s can't even take good care of themselves talk more of taking care of somebody else. Children are expensive. Go to Europe and America, they don't give birth to any number of kids they like because it's expensive to raise kids there.if some one should go with your advice,it means for someone that's struggling to feed, and stays under the bridge should go and marry and start giving birth. The best advice for that person would have been to fix his life first before thinking of having kids or getting married. Times have changed ooooo make we dey give ourselves brain. |

Ijoba85: People you mentioned were destined to be who they were no doubts and i believe some would still be but unfortunately that's not going to happen to everyone. But let me ask you a question, did you read it anywhere that those great philosophers never had or wished to have their own nuclear families? You sounded selfish to yourself and family which is strange. You were given birth to but didn't see anything wrong in not having your own kind. All the drama of life jumping up and down have no meaning to you? If Nigeria is a determining factor to having your own offspring then I must say you've lost your purpose learn to respect people's choices in life. You are here because your parents chosed to bring you here. Some other persons have right to make their choices too of not bringing kids to this world.Nigeria is not even the reason why some persons decided not to have kids. There are countries that beg their citizens to give birth so it's not the issue of Nigeria. How many family names do you still hear their names just because they had kids without making impact in the world? |

Ijoba85: Nigeria should not be the reason you won't fulfil purpose in life. Childbearing is not ordinary. It's an evidence you once lived. If you die childless, your memory is forever erased from the land of the living [Qquote author=alphabbey1 post=135923592]
Just die childless if you don't have means to take care of a child. No need to bring a child and put all your generational problem on the child. Nigeria is overpopulated enough, don't add to the problem. Just dey play. You think say na by children history go take remember you. If you don't want to be forgotten, make a name for yourself. The great philosophers or rulers you read in history today, you think they got there by just having kids. Work on your life and you will be remembered. |

Is there no new doctrine? One thing is for sure, all these beliefs will fade away because the upcoming generation don't even know what heaven or hell is, and it will be almost impossible to convince them to believe something like that. Even my parents who are strong Christians are now becoming skeptical about this heaven and hell stuff. The heaven and hell they talked about is right here on earth.Religion is a human creation for the purpose of control. The idea of heaven and hell is to induce fear into people and by so doing easily control them. |

Lumarstone: I advice those who care to listen never to have physical fight or have heated quarrels with people. Many people are at the Virgie of soon to die and they're aware.
Many people you see walking around are deeply frustrated to an extent that when they die no one will Carter for there burial expenses, and they're looking for someone that will bury then with a befitting color. Some are contemplating of committing suicide before tomorrow.
Greater number of people especially Nigerians do not visit hospital on a regular basis, thus; have no medical records. Some of them are walking corpse and they know.
Many are in the prison for a murder case they knew nothing about.
Be warned. You are very correct....when you go out on the streets and you are sensitive, you see the frustration in their faces,no matter how they try to hide it. Avoid unnecessary argument this period. |

In places like the U.K., you have to work. Periodt. You can’t go abroad only to be a financial liability. And unfortunately ladies with this mentality are the same ones who’ll want to JAPA. SMH. People wanting freedom but none of the responsibilities that come with it. Our great-grandmothers may not have worked in the conventional sense (and our great-grandfathers only barely in the first place, in that-very conventional sense), but they were farmers, traders and fit to raise 10 kids. They weren’t doing nothing sitting with fake Brazilian weave after weave, chewing gum and waiting to be fed. A lot of these girls can’t even cook indomie, let-alone a soup with almighty shades of okporoko in it. That’s not what being a housewife means, even if that is the path they want for themselves. the most annoying thing is our gals are now embracing feminism....Omo I pity guys when never marry,to see good woman now is almost impossible. |
