I was expecting aribisala to be s.tupid and he didn't dissapoint, jargons upon jargons just to justify your pay, most of the votes the president won in kwra and kogi where I know well, were bought 5k each, and I read somewhere the minister of transport or so spend 16 million at his polling unit and got the president just 16 votes,a million for every vote, just accept defeat already.
Never in the history of nigeria has so much money failed to achieve its goal, the money given to emirs,obas,pastors,e.t.c..
The people were simply tired of a clueless govt that had excuses for not doing any tangile thing to alleviate its peoples conditions.
Abeg just rest it,e don do.

Jk210:
In fact there are several threads in the politics section already pointing to the fact that the whole akiolu saga is a PDP divide and rule saga
Look, whatever it is,my advise to the Ambode campaign team is to go do person to person, house to house, neighbour to neighbour campaign, this has done much more damage than what condemnation of the oba cn resolve.

Ambode to me is a better candidtate and its best the apc wins lagos to atleast reap all their investment in the opposition over the years, but as things are,he would sure lose if something more pragmatic isn't done..

Thing is plenty indigenes and non idigenes who are not igbo do not plan to vote,so imagine a case where igbos in their large numbers turn out to vote against him.hmm
PoliticsAkiolu Not APC Spokesman-tinubu by chiefbamo(op): 4:51pm On Apr 07, 2015
A former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has said the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, is not a member of the All Progressives Congress and cannot speak on behalf of the party.

Tinubu said this at a rally in Iganmu, Lagos, while reacting to the controversial comments of the monarch on Tuesday.

The APC National Leader, who noted that he was the first Yoruba governor to ever appoint an Igbo commissioner, said the Peoples Democratic Party, having failed to win last week’s presidential elections, were desperately trying to pull the APC into the Akiolu controversy.

He said the Coordinator of the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria, Ifeanyi Ubah, and the PDP leader, Bode George, were only making baseless accusations against the APC.

Tinubu said, “The oba is not a politician. His job is to accommodate all political parties, whether PDP, APC or SDP. So, what did he (Ubah) go and do at the palace?

“To you Igbos, don’t we pay your children’s school fees like others? Or is it the palace that pays for it? When we conducted an exam and a spelling competition, an Igbo boy, Ebuka, from Anambra, came first and he became the governor for one day.

“Those that won the competition three times in a row were Igbo. Ebuka was sent to Switzerland computer school and then Obafemi Awolowo University. We did not say he was an Igbo boy and he would not enjoy. He became an executive in Oando and he is now in Canada.

“Another boy, Felix, won and went to Switzerland and OAU. We paid his scholarship; we did not deny him because he is Igbo.”

In a separate statement, the Lagos State APC Publicity Secretary, Joe Igbokwe, said the monarch spoke out of anger.

He urged his kinsmen not to take out their anger on the APC governorship candidate, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, who knew nothing about the incident.

The statement read, “Oba Rilwan Akiolu of Lagos is not a card-carrying member of APC. He is not a leader in the APC. He does not speak for the APC. He did not speak for Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos state.

“He did not speak for our national leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He did not speak for the incoming governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode. His Royal Highness is at liberty to speak for himself and he spoke for himself only.

“Lagos APC appeals to Ndigbo not to take the statement as the position of the party in Lagos. We passionately appeal to Ndigbo not to carry the statement credited to Oba Akiolu too far so as not to put a knife on things that have held us together for more than 50 years now.

“If out of annoyance, you throw your cap away, a mad man will take it and use it forever.”

True, the man is a snitch, thank God he lost, this same david umaru has. Contested against him twice. And then against nuhu zagbayi last year, and he was robbed of his victory.David umaru won minna, lapai, suleja, aggai, paiko and all the big towns and villages in the senatorial district with a huge margin in the day time but by the next morning results were brought from villages and amulets to upturn the result.

I'm really just happy his patience finally paid off.
PoliticsNiger Governor Concedes Defeat. Calls Opponent,no Response. by chiefbamo(op): 5:26am On Apr 02, 2015
Niger state Governor Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu who contested for the Niger East Senatorial seat has conceded defeat while he congratulates his opponent Barrister David Umar of the APC and others who succeed during the just concluded elections.

According to Aliyu who made this known in Minna this Wednesday said that what happened during the election will create more unity and bring development to the country.

He hailed President Goodluck Jonathan's courage for conceding defeat, saying his gentlemanly approach of congratulating the President elect, General Muhammadu Buhari  has gone a long way to douse the tension in the country.

Aliyu urged Jonathan to work together with the President Elect to ensure a smooth transition adding that politics is not war.

'President Jonathan's approach doused whatever tension have been created. It worked to smoothen ‎whatever rough edge the election had created. We hope that the transition will be smooth and everyone will see a friendly handover.'

The Niger State governor also stated that after the election results were announced, he called his opponent seven times to congratulate him but he did not pick up the‎ call.

PoliticsCNN Fire Jim Clancy For Calling Out Isreal. by chiefbamo(op): 9:30pm On Jan 16, 2015
CNN anchor Jim Clancy has left the network one week after a bizarre exchange with pro-Israel activists on Twitter about the terrorist outrages in Paris, in which he derided his opponents as the “hasbara team” and used a derogatory term for disabled people.

The news was broken by industry publication Adweek, which linked to The Algemeiner‘s extensive reporting of the scandal, noting that Clancy’s departure “comes just days after the veteran journalist had an extended debate via Twitter over the Charlie Hebdo cartoons.”

CNN, however, made no mention of the scandal as it paid tribute to Clancy’s 34 years of service with the channel. “Jim Clancy is no longer with CNN. We thank him for more than three decades of distinguished service, and wish him nothing but the best,” a CNN spokesperson said.

In a short statement, Clancy said: “After nearly 34 years with Cable News Network, the time has come to say Farewell! It has been my honor to work alongside all of you for all of these years. This is one of the greatest news organizations in the world. It has truly revolutionized information delivery while driving technological advances in how we gather the news. Through it all, CNN has been a family to my own family. That means something. As I reflect on all of the great adventures and achievements of the past, I wish you great success in the future.”

The anchor’s departure follows yesterday’s revelation that his Twitter account had been deactivated. In his clash with pro-Israel advocates, Clancy – whose obsession with Israeli settlement policy is well-known among CNN viewers – angrily responded to one of his detractors with the word, “Hasbara?” (“Hasbara,” the Hebrew word for “explaining,” is often invoked by Israel’s opponents to dismiss views with which they disagree, even when, as in this case, the matter at hand has nothing to do with Israel.)

As his ire rose, Clancy dismissed another user by saying, “Get a grip, junior. It’s my Friday night. You and the Hasbara team need to pick on some cripple on the edge of the herd.”

Jay Ruderman, the head of the Ruderman Family Foundation, which promotes the inclusion of people with disabilities in the Jewish community, informed Clancy on Twitter that the word “cripple” is derogatory. The anchor’s response was to block both Ruderman’s personal account and the account of the Ruderman Foundation.

Yesterday, Ruderman told The Algemeiner that an “organization held in the esteem that CNN is held in should use this as a teaching moment.”

PoliticsPeace Meeting Between Gej And Obj A Failure. by chiefbamo(op): 12:53pm On Jan 15, 2015
by Kolapo Olapoju

It is believed that the supposed ‘peace meeting’ between former president Olusegun Obasanjo and President Goodluck Jonathan ended in a stalemate as both parties reportedly failed to come to an accord.

The president and members of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Board of Trustees met with Obasanjo for about three hours in Abeokuta on Monday, January 12, in an attempt to settle, once and for all, the disagreements between the two leaders.

However, reports say that the meeting, which had in attendance Pastor Adebayo and Pastor Oyedepo, ended in futility, as a common ground could not be reached by both parties, and the PDP, is said to be uninterested in pushing for a second attempt at fostering peace between Obasanjo and Jonathan.

A source, who was present at the meeting, told Vanguard that Obasanjo did not have the intention of making peace with the president, but only acquiseced to the request for the meeting, as a sign of respect to the office of the President.

According to the source, Obasanjo requested the two influential clerics to be present as witnesses at the meeting to drive home the point that Jonathan was the cause of their rift.

Obasanjo is also believed to be still be smarting from last Sunday’s statement in which Jonathan described some elder statesmen and senior citizens as behaving like ‘motor park touts’.

The source said: “It is true that Obasanjo invited the two clergymen to witness the meeting which he grudgingly accepted to host because of the respect he has for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He did not want to turn the president and his entourage down since they requested to see him in his house as part of their rally in the state.”

“But the truth of the matter is that Baba has not shifted grounds on any issue since he feels that Jonathan has not been fair to him by not adhering to any of the previous agreements reached with him.”

“What really irked Baba is the reference by Jonathan to some Nigerian elder statesmen as behaving as ‘motor park touts’ a day before begging him to grant him audience in Abeokuta. The man really feels insulted by such unfortunate outburst from the president of a country.”

“There was no need to enter into any peace deal with Jonathan because similar deals done in the past only resulted in more attacks by him and his aides on Baba only for them to come begging for forgiveness once it is close to election,” the sources added.
