Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah.....I cant stop laffing ohhhhhhhh.....hahahahahahahahahaah!!!!! |
The impasse between FG and ASUU and taken another swit as ASUU calls the FG threat a bluff. But wait a minute, what do you guys think will happen after the 7 days ultimatum, and ASUU refuse to go back to the classroom? Will the whole ASUU members be shown the gate, and new employment conducted...? Is FG really Bluffing...? Has ASUU been really vindicated on their claims of the FG not being reliable, and can not be trusted on their words?. These are lots of questions begging for answers. Personally, i can't wait to watch the "premier of the second episode of this mind blowing drama". Who is the movie director here, FAGGE or WIKE? Lets sit back and watch this intrigue.... . . . "....The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Thursday described the threat by the federal government to sack lecturers if they don’t return to classroom as empty threat that could not hold water. The union said it is vindicated that the Federal government was not ready to implement resolutions reached with the union. ASUU said the threat will fail, adding that Nigerian public universities need 60,000 lecturers due to government’s failure to employ more capable hands into the system. The union said federal government is wasting the time of Nigerians youths by failing to perfect the resolutions and get the strike suspended. The union added it had reasons to be wary following the failure of government to honour their promises to Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, resident doctors and other health workers who have suspended their strikes. The ASUU National Treasurer, Dr. Ademola Aremu, while responding to the government’s directive, said the threat does not hold water as it has confirmed the fears that the federal government cannot be trusted. The don said, “With the latest action, the federal government has shown that they are not committed to all they have been saying. We are saying that since we agreed at the meeting that the sum of 200 billion naira is for 2012 and 2013 revitalisation, the federal government should deposit same in the Central Bank of Nigerian. We are already in November and December is around the corner. If they don’t do that now, when do they want to do it? We are saying the non-victimization clause should be included as agreed while the renegotiation of the 2009 agreement should be included as agreed with the presidents”. “It is a pity if the federal government is not willing to perfect the resolutions reached with union. This is why we find it difficult to trust our leaders by their words. How can someone be threatening to sack lecturers when universities are already short-staffed by almost 60,000. We are not in military era. The military tried it and failed. This one will fail again. They can re-open the school. ASUU did not shut down the universities. It was the management of the schools that ordered the students to go back home....” SOURCE: http://thenationonlineng.net/new/fgs-directive-empty-threat-ASUU/ |
Hanan30: @justwise I'm so happy. All of my family members were issued visas today. It took 5 working days to do so. Thank you very much@Hanan30: Congratulations. Thats some good news. Safe trip. |
Don Oms: They will not have any problems at POE once they explain that you needed to go and settle down first before they join you in the UK. As for the flight, though I like BA but it's slightly expensive relative to others. BA will get you to Glasgow in less time than Emirates since they fly UK directly but Emirates take you to Dubai first. As for in-flight entertainment, I guess they're almost the same. Klm is about at the middle of those two in terms of money. The idea is that if you're on a budget and don't mind travelling long and sightseeing, use Emirates. If otherwise, go with KLM or BA.@Don Oms: I am so so saturated with these infos now!! Am so humbled. Thanks. I won't hessitate to check again if i need to be cleared. Safe! |
kennyone: Hello, I am going to uni of glasgow by january, how can I get your contact?@Kennyone, PM me. We'll tk it frm there. |
@Hannan30: Well, that's d aim... "getting relaxed and remaining focused on ur positive expectations". ...u'll soon b bck like d biblical leaper!! U won't bet dat. |
Don Oms: Considering you'll be going with your dependants and you may want to save money as best as possible (not minding duration of flight), Emirates is your best bet in my opinion. Book on their main website. Thanks @ Don Oms for ur promtness. U r really so educating. I intend going alone first, then they will come ova as soon as i get myself settled in school. Goin by wen their entrance was cleared, will they have problems at POE if they delay a little before they come ova? Note: Their visas r also 4 3 yr like mine. Now since i intend traveling wifout them first, will the emirate still b best 4 me and them too? |
Jen1: @chieftekena, congrats on ur visa, when did you apply?@Jen1: Thanks a bunch. I applied on wednesday 18th of Sept, and got the passports thru UPS on monday 7th Oct (thou visas were issued/stamped on thursday 3rd Oct). My status on the tracking platform changed on friday 4th Oct. Hw about urs? Are u expecting urs or u r in already? |
Don Oms: Cogratulations on your visa and those of your dependants. As for the "processed Passport/processed Application" issue,we already dismissed the hypothesis and consider it untrue. I bet there are a few N'landers who have posted here in the past or at www.nairaland.com/863688/nigerian-students-uk-how-surviveThanks for ur point of order on d d hypothesis. I must admit i hadn't observed the dismisal. My bad. Hw do i get a good but cheap flight to Glasgow? Which of d airliners makes more sense? I am already late, but i have a LSD of 30th Oct. |
Hanan30: Thank you so much justwise. We already applied so I think we cannot add more documents. I'll wait and pray for the best.@Hanan30: Not to worry at all, about from the anxiety which is normal. This is because the documents ur submitted are very ok. What they want to see is that the required amount of money for the four of them is held for 28 days. Hence ur also remembered to submit birth certificates of ur three children and marriage certificates. These documents will show ur relationship with ur dependants. If this was done too, then their visas are sure coming out in a giffee. They stand a better chance because you (the main applicant) hv bn cleared for entry already. We share a similar scenario. I am also a university sponsored, and i made sure there was enof funds in my account to cover for my wife and son, and then we filed in our applications together on the 18th Sept, and we got our passport this evening with the visas stamped since 3rd of oct. So u see, my case was even more dicey than urs since u have had urs already. Just keep ur head up. U will soon share ur testimonies aspa ur depandants. |
Hello house! I want to apprc8 and thank everyone who has been contributing positively to this thread, especially Justwise and co. I have bn going thru ur posts for more than a month now, and i must confess that these posts and comments have contributed immense to my success story. To God be the glory, i just recieved my Visa this evening thru UPS (togeda wit that of my dependants: wife nd Son). Our status changed on friday to "Processed application sent to UPS on...", and without any text msg frm VFS, up till now. I was initially jittery wen i saw the status msg. This is because sumwia on this thread, some pple tried to compare msgs that come with an approval nd a refusal of Visa applictns. B4 nw i was made to blive dat "processed passports..." has a high likelihood for approval and "processed application..." has a high likelihood for refusal. This is to discredit those notions, especially for intended applicants to avoid any high BP b4 u lay hands on ur passports. I am heading to the Uni of Glasgow. Any NLander there or heading there in the house please...? |
Yet to see anyone born on 31st MAY. Waiting... |

Don Oms: Don't count October 1, as far as I know, it shouldn't be a working day. Be hopeful to get your visa before/by the end of next week.@Don Oms: Thanks Man! I am keeping my hopes tight. |
Hi everyone! Please can someone clarify me on weda 1st October is to be considered a working day too for the BHC in the processing of our VISA. I want to be sure on the exact working day my VISA application has spent now? I applied on the 18th September. Thank you. |

Imo state is known for very high and outrageous bride price and marriage list as demands by the Umunnas. Try picking a wife from there and u will undstnd wat i mean. |
Who told you all he is going to d power ministry? It'll surprise u to know dat GEJ might make a minor shake up and fix d two minister nominees where he wants them to be. The most important thing is dat their states quotas are fully balanced within d fed character ministerial representation. |
...Wetin dey worry una sef? Is it this number set that is brewing so much ideology? Go get urselves some work jorr... "We wnt to assure you all 2 go about ur normal activities.
