Food / Re: All You Need To Know About PLASTIC RICE This Christmas by ChifysWorld: 4:27pm On Dec 22, 2016
Because of the numerous health risks of ingesting plastic rice, its therefore expedient that we know how to differentiate between real rice and the plastic version.
There are several ways to do this and they are very easy to perform. The include but are not limited to:
1. WATER TEST: Take one glass or bowl of water and drop some rice in it, then stir. If the rice is fake, it will float at the top because the fake rice will definitely float in water as most plastics do.
2. FIRE TEST: Take rice and simply burn it. If any rice is made with plastic then it will come out with the plastic smell and most will melt.
3. MOULD TEST: Simply boil some of the rice, then just leave it like 2-3 days without refrigerating or warming it . If rice is plastic, then it will not have fungi as it will remain same.
4. BOILING TEST: Observe rice during the boiling time. If it's plastic, it will form a thick layer at the top of the pan.
These tricks are simple and easy, so you can try them at home. Plastic Rice can be found out very easily. Be careful as it can cause so many health implications, please let's be wise this yuletide season and all round.
5.HOT OIL TEST: Take some rice and drop into very hot oil. If its a plastic rice, the rice will melt and stick together under the pot or container.

Now that you know, Pass it on and save lives and money. Don't forget to comment and let your voice be heard.

Calabar Carnival and Festival - "Climate Change" - Bigger, Bolder, Better!!!

t is Christmas season once more and all roads leads to the beautiful city of Calabar in Cross River State of Nigeria where the biggest Carnival and street party is already fully loaded and overflowing. The Calabar Carnival is the biggest Carnival/Street party in Africa and features numerous bands and countless number of breath-taking activities.

The events are divided into 4 weeks which include the Millennium Week (1-10 Dec 2016), The Sports Fiesta (12-17 Dec 2016), The TINAPA Family Fun Festival (19-24 Dec 2016) and the Carnival Week (25-31 Dec 2016). Nairaland / General / Mmm is Never Coming Back by ChifysWorld: 7:10pm On Dec 15, 2016
I dont know why most Nigerians are still believing that MMM will reopen and give them back their money. By the ideology of the scheme, MMM is not with the members money, the funds were paid into other members accounts. So lets say you are a new customer and they ask you to pay or provide help to anyone right now; will you do it? I guess your answer is NO! which is very obvious under the current circumstances. If you have to give help to receive help, then who did the first set of MMM members pay or provide help to for the first month? if we are to ask every member to post the account number and name they provided help to, it will be shocking to see that some set of accounts have been receiving helps in excess of 20 -100 million monthly. The owners of the scheme succeeded in making people believe that they were providing help.

NOW MMM has surfaced in Kenya and is promising Kenyans 40% returns..... http://chifysworld..com.ng/2016/12/mmm-defrauds-nigerians-and-runs-to-kenya.html

So lets face the fact, MMM Nigeria has CRASHED.

ITS a big lie - Who will give help now knowing that he will probably never recieve help nor get his or her money back, except if MMM is claiming that they have been posing as customers and collecting peoples money.

Morover, MMM is Currently in Kenya Promising them 40% returns http://chifysworld..com.ng/2016/12/mmm-defrauds-nigerians-and-runs-to-kenya.html

Why MMM was meant to CRASH

The money-box scheme called MMM that started in Russia was introduced to Nigerians via MMM Nigeria when the country was said to be at the peak of what many described as the worst recession in the Nigeria's economic history. The economic hardship and the urge to get rich quick made a lot of Nigerians to rush into it and welcome MMM as their only way to carter for themselves in a time where the exchange rates were hitting the roofs; hence most people failed to ask themselves some very important questions.

Has anybody ever "Received Help" or money except they first "Provided Help" or paid some money? If you have to give help to get help then,
Question 1: To WHO did the first set of MMM subscribers provide help to?
Question 2: Where does the 30% Return on Investment come from?
Question 3: What will happen when the requested help outweighs the available help?
Question 4: What is the history of MMM and has it failed before?
Question 5: Is MMM being regulated by any financial regulatory board, body, or institution?

A Night to Remember

It was one of those ordinary work days. I was sitting in front of my desktop seeming very busy yet being very bored. I was still engrossed in my pretend business when the security lady at the door appeared at my cubicle. "Aunty" she said "yes?" I replied "e get pesin wey dea find you; e carry package come for you" I looked beyond her to see the delivery man carrying a package. He walked up to me and handed it to me along with a book for me to sign. I cautiously took the pack from him and signed for it. I asked who it was from but he said he didn't know. I waited for the duo to leave before tearing open the package, in it was a brand new iphone 6 with a pre loaded sim card and only one number saved on it. "creepy" I thought to my self, I stared at the phone because I couldn't make out what to do next with the phone. Then it rang and a startled me dropped the phone on the table. I was afraid to pick it and curious as well. I wanted to know who was on the other end of the other end of the phone line. I could feel the boring eyes of colleagues on me. I picked up courage and slide the screen to take the call. "Hello" I said in a voice much more confident than I was at the time. "hello" came a rich deep male voice. "how are you?" the voice asked " fine thank you " I replied in a cautious voice " I am sure you are wondering who I am and why I had to go the extra mile... but then desperate times require desperate measures" the voice finished " what exactly do you mean by that" I asked,

Hazards of Malicious App on Facebook

A lot of people have complained that their account has been hacked, somebody starts posting nude pictures and malicious links on your timeline. They chat up your Facebook friends asking for financial assistance that your mom or wife or one relative is sick and needs expensive medical assistance to survive....they spam and scam with your account and on your behalf. Yes, they destroy your social and corporate image. Who told you a stupid app can tell who your boyfriend or spouse will be or how many kids you will have or the number of cars you will have or probably read your so called zodiac signs and tell you how fortunate you are to be born on a particular date. The only truth that you will get from those stupid app and zodiac signs is the fact that you are stupid. Yes its very obvious....i don't need a malicious app or a star gazer to tell me that. Your argument might be that you do it for fun. I feel your pain oo... because you are having fun at your own peril. Allow me to educate your ignorant self that most of those Apps are loaded with malware and if you are oblivious of what that is, a 'Malware' is an umbrella term used to refer to a variety of forms of hostile or intrusive software, including computer viruses, worms, Trojan horses, ransom-ware, spyware, adware, scareware, and other malicious programs. It can take the form of executable code, scripts, active content, and other software. There are millions of them that the antivirus can not even keep up with their evolution.
With that they can have access to your device and do what ever they wish. A lot of them are undetectable like the stealth "Keyloggers" and "The Extractors". While the Keylogger records every keystroke you make on you device and sends them to who ever it was programmed to communicate to, the "Extractor" records and transmits the content of every form you fill online. It means that it records and sends the login details every account you have online. Which compromises your emails, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, your everything online.
The internet is a wonderful place but also very dangerous. Don't make a habit of giving third party apps permission to view your details or post to your timeline.
Think safety, browse safely and forgive my strong language.

Perdition

beautiful destruction
as peaceful as death
smiling in painful ending
an heir of pedition
tipsily brawling sorrowfully
neglecting the unmerited
longing for emptiness
clinging to futility
hanging unto a mirage
a worthless rag
then comes the end
fire crackling and flowing
voices wailing in anguish
deaefning for enternity
perdition it is.

Literature / HOOKED - A Short Masterpiece Of Fiction By Ifunanya A. Okoli by ChifysWorld: 11:48am On Jun 08, 2016
Hooked 1

He sat in his taxi yelling "wuse wuse wuse" when his eye caught the sight of a young lemon skinned lady, standing near an electric pole waiting to cross the road. Slender and of average height, but what caught his interest most was her dressing. she was dressed in a yellow and orange suit, short skirt and black hose with a black neat pointed shoe. "wow" he taught " "beautiful! so elegant"
"wuse" a passenger asked through the window of the car interrupting his thoughts. "eh?" he asked startled "wuse" the passenger asked again. "yes wuse" he replied " "enter" the passenger opened the front door and jumped in he shot a glance back at the spot where the young lady had been standing but she was not there any more.
He went back to his calling for passengers "wuse wuse" he called out two more people got in to his cab and he took off as he called . He stock his head out to shout out a greeting to a friend "broda!" he called out "ey AB" the other cab driver called out to him in response to his greeting. Its time to hustle he thought to himself as he drove away .

Lara hurried from her office in wuse to the main road, she stopped to look before she could cross the road to the other side where she would get a taxi to her House in Gwarimpa . She had to be careful of the cars rushing to and for on the road.
Lara ignored the glances and stares she got from men passing by and driving by, and the up and down looks she got from a few ladies as well the cat calling from touts. "fine geh where?" "Fine geh you dea go?". Lara crossed over and walked up to the bus stop where a taxi drove up and called out to her federal housing gwarimpa! She looked shocked at the driver but then she got in thinking how on earth could he call the exact location of her house. The taxi man looked back at her and grinned with white teeth " are you surprised I know where you are going?" "yes, should i not be ? she replied" "would you like me to tell you more about your self?" he asked "nooooo please" she said " its weird enough that a complete stranger knows where I live" she replied and the passengers in the cab laughed. The cab stopped to drop off and pick up some new passengers. " no fear" he said as he did that. " I saw you this morning come out of the federal housing gate and watched you as you waited to cross the road and your dressing caught my attention" "ooh" she said feeling very relieved. " I guessed that would be where you lived." he continued. " I said to my self very soon you would get married and that's how your wife should dress to work, though I haven't found the wife yet" . oh boy here we go with the wife talk Lara thought to herself. "I would pray along with you" she said. "oh would you? pray she follows me to my country too" he said. Lara looked at the driver and smiled. He spoke flawless English with an impeccable accent. She wondered about him. " so you work around here" he asked "yes" she answered. " I would like to work close to you there at NNPC that's the next place I want to work" he said. Lara looked at him and smiled. They were almost at her place. " when you come out tomorrow I would take a picture of you and update my status if you looked as smart as you do today". "Hmmm" she said as they got out of the taxi when they had gotten to her stop. "keep looking smart" he called out to her.

AB laid down on his bed and reflected on his day. It was a good day but it was also a regular day, except for the one detail that stood out, the "beauty in the suit". He could still see her clearly in his mind; he thought of her and smiled. He could still see her beautiful smiling face in his minds eye as he drifted off to sleep.

Lara rolled the suit she had worn to work and dumped it in the dirty cloth basket at the far corner of her room. She remembered the cab driver and smiled. I never got to ask him his name, she thought. well...no need. She said her prayer and laid herself down to sleep. Funny how the thought of the cab driver who spoke good English kept creeping up her mind. What she couldn't understand was why she couldn't help smiling every time a thought of him crossed her mind. Maybe next time I will ask him his name" she thought to herself as she fell asleep.
to be continued... kiss

CIRCLE OF LIFE
Beautiful Roses of emptiness
Visions of the Past
A sea of yesterday’s happenings
The yearnings of a longing heart
Memories of happenings yet to come.
The ticking clock
It’s ours to choose and wait
To do it all over again.
