You also need to include your statement of account in addition to that of your sponsor and state the relationship between you and your sponsor. idid: Virtually every western country now has a Start-up visa program and about 60% of them are free.
As long as you can start a business that is meaningful and will generate at least 2-3 jobs for starters.
You have a nice idea or have already started
Have some money or have spent some money on your existing business and want to expand abroad
Sometimes you are required to show evidence that you've started and can sustain yourself when you travel and I believe that most Nigerians who pay millions of naira to agents can apply for this if you are well guided and intended.
Note that most startup visas also allow you to take your family with you and grant you temporary/permanent residence as opposed to just visa or student visas that require lots of money. Most also come with work permit to take on contracts, employments, etc... (depending on the country though).
In my view, it is better than student and other visa categories. Most of you who sell your cars and homes can also put your funds into proper use if you are to start a business abroad and get a qualifying permit to do so.
In 2020, people should consider this new direction and be wiser. I see no reason why most of you who already have nice jobs in Nigeria will sell your belongings and go abroad to start from the beginning, when you can go start something meaningful with your money.
For this type of visa though, you have to be genuine and committed, you will get it and make your travel more meaningful.
Google is your friend but I can be helpful if you need ideas and thinking as to what to do and places that are more reasonable to apply for a Please do you have information on how to get the Italian study Visa? |
Travel › Re: Start-up Visa by Chike31(m): 10:42pm On Feb 11, 2020 |
idid: Brilliant!
The Italian scheme is so interesting too (4 million naira) basically for a team of 5 and the good thing is that you are not giving the money away to any government or school, it's all yours to spend on your company and that is wonderful!
Although, some other ones in Europe within the schengen area have no capital requirements at all, but Italy is a good place to base and you can live anywhere you want in Europe if the same idea can be replicated elsewhere.
If there is a group of people who want to come together to start a company and pull resources together, the merrier it is.
I will try to post some startup ideas as I promised earlier..
How about the Italian study visa? Please What are the requirements ? |

highvibration: approved b1/b2. Lagos embassy. and i have to say, I couldn't have done it without this thread.
vo: where are you going to? me: university name, town, state vo; what are you going for? me: i was invited to present a paper at 'university name' at 'conference name' vo: whats that? me; i explained the conference in more detail vo; how long are you going for? me: 6 days vo: have you left nigeria before? me: yes, been to a few countries in europe. spain, netherlands, italy. ive been across africa, morocco, mauritius, etc. I love to travel vo: what do you do? me; i work as a consultant on XYZ project vo: how much do you earn me; 850k a month vo: are you married? me: no vo: any kids? me: no vo: tell me about your paper me: i ramble for about 30 seconds. (he is nodding his head as if its enough abeg) vo: i'm going to approve your visa.... (hands over pink slip)
observations/advice: 1. i wasn't asked for any documents. in my application as I was going for a conference, i selected only B1 ( i got that tip from here) 2. i prepared my questions and answers and rehearsed (nairaland tip). even yesterday i read the thread and saw a lady answered her question immediately with the name of the course, venue, state. so i updated my answers so my response will be concise (another tip from here) 3. i didnt hesitate with my answers (the benefit of rehearsing) . too many people were saying 'ehn?', meanwhile me far away could hear the questions 3. don't ramble. be confident. don't lie on your application. i've been refused over 10yrs ago and even though i didnt do biometrics, I mentioned it. (nairaland tip) LIES WILL MAKE YOU NERVOUS. 4. don't engage in chatchat with people. all that 'naija is bad/they arent giving visa's etc etc. it ruins your energy. be silent and focus on why you are there (my personal advice) 5. they were approving and refusing people. the vo i met refused a lady for student visa because the course date was in the past. he advised her to get a new i20 from the uni. he refused a mama who couldn't explain what she did there her last visit for 2mths. they aren't demons. they have their reasons for either refusals or approvals.
Good luck to all. I hope this helps. |

Where did you this information that you'll need your BA, admission letter and. Passport to enable you book for an appointment? If on the website, please kindly drop the link. Thanks Dipseet: The following steps will help newbies (Thanks to CassieV for the tips)
Most of the schools in Germany are tuition free even for international students, you only get to pay a certain amount as semester fees say between 100-400 euros and most times the semester fee comes with a semester ticket to aid in transportation in your city or town. However, before you're granted a student visa, you have to prove that you can take care of your living expenses with one of the following means ; 1. Block account: The estimated living expenses for a student in a month is 720euros, when you multiply that by 12 months, you get 8640euros. This is the amount you're required to block in an already opened account with either Deutsch bank, Fintiba or Xpatrio. It is called a block account because you will not be able to withdraw everything at once, only 720euros will be released to you every month. 2. Sponsorship letter: If you have a relative living and working legally in Germany, they can get you this letter. They'll have to visit the alien office in their city and will be required to provide some documents and pay a certain fee. The letter will be sent to you when they receive it so that you can go with it for your visa interview. 3. Scholarship: This is usually the best if you have the scholarship, your visa will be granted in under 2 weeks after interview. So try and look for scholarships you can apply to.
Now that you understand the financial situation, let's go into the application process. To search for schools, click on this link https://www.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/international-programmes/en/?p=l&q=&fos=0&lang[]=2&fee[]=0&sortBy=1&page=1&display=list filter your search to make it easier, there are English taught courses there. Generally, the very important documents needed to apply to schools in Germany are; 1. Transcript 2. English Proficiency 3. School Certificates (Degree, Waec, etc) However, depending on the school, some other documents needed are as follows. 4. Curriculum Vitae 5. Motivation letter 6. Reference letters 7. GRE test 8. Etcetera.. Visit your prospective school website and find out the documents they need from you. Note: You don't apply with your original documents, you have to make photocopies of them and Certify them in High court or a Notary public. If you stay in Lagos, you can certify at the German Embassy too. You'll have to book appointment for that. For those planning to go for a Bachelors course, you need a 100level transcript from a university to apply for a BSc program in germany. WAEC alone will not be enough and No, OND will not do, you need a HND.
For the application proper, it is always important to go through the website of the schools you want to apply to, you'll get a lot of information form there concerning how to apply. Some schools do only online applications, some requires that you send your application documents to them by post after applying online, some you send your documents as pdf to their email address and then you get the uni assist crew. Like I said earlier, it is important to go visit and read the websites.
When you get your admission letter, open a block account immediately(that is if you don't already have a sponsorship letter) and as soon as you get your account details, send an email to the embassy requesting for a visa interview date. You need these to get an interview date: 1. Admission letter 2. Block account/sponsorship letter/scholarship letter 3. International passport data page(scanned) Then your Full name and Resident address.
