Politics / APC Wants Galadima Dead, Plots Saraki, Ekweremadu’s Impeachment – Frank by Chikexe: 9:33am On Jul 24, 2018
Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progreasives Congress (APC) Comrade Timi Frank has asked the security agencies to investigate the circumstances leading to the auto crash involving the National Chairman of the Reformed All Progressives Congress (rAPC), Engr. Buba Galadima and his son on Monday.

Frank also alleged that the recent development had shown that the party in power “is desperate to remove Senate President Bukola Saraki and his deputy Ekweremadu, hence the misuse of police against the two.”

He added that as part of efforts to impeach the duo of Senate President and his deputy, armed security personnel have taken over the National Assembly as early as 6am on Tuesday morning to prevent lawmakers from doing their lawful duties.

While calling on Nigerians to join well wishers in praying for quick recovery of rAPC leader and others, Frank alleged that the accident was a handiwork of “demonic forces in their former party (APC) who wanted Buba Galadima dead.”

In a statement he signed on Tuesday in Abuja, Frank said since the rAPC, through its National Chairman Galadima made its grievances known to the ruling party and the clear indication of pulling out in few days, “the APC blood sucking demons have been deployed to fight our leaders at all cost”

While calling on Nigerian to support their leaders in prayers against what he described as “evil conspiracies,” Frank said their plan to leave APC and join forces with other parties is a struggle to rescue the nation from the current leadership failure.

According to him, “it is obvious at the moment that if anything bad happen to Buba Galadima or any other leaders of rAPC, the ruling party will be held responsible.

“We want to assure Nigerians that no form of intimidation physically or spiritually will force our leaders from withdrawing from this mission. It is a mission to save Nigeria from total collapse.”

“I will, however, call on international community and the world leaders to keep their eyes on Nigeria’s democracy from now on. We know that the ruling party will do everything possible to supress the voices of reasoning but Nigerians should be rest assured that the more they try, the more our voices will get louder until the nation is rescued,” Frank stated.

He also raised an alarm that there were alleged plans to arrest, intimidate and assasinate some of the leaders of rAPC before the 2019 general elections.

“So, we are praying that God should keep Engr. Buba Galadima alive to be among the leaders that will supervise the eviction of President Muhammadu Buhari and APC out of power in 2019 to put an end to blood shedding in the country.

“I will also call on all true religious leaders to ask God to strengthen the leaders of rAPC and the voting population in their quest to see a better country.”

Ekiti state House of Assembly adjourns sitting till October in protest of last Saturday's election

Ekiti State House of Assembly have adjourned sitting till the 8th of October, 2018 in protest of last Saturday's governorship election. The Leader of Business in the house, Honourable Akinyele Olatunji, who moved the motion for the adjournment said this became imperative due to the political harassment of members by security agents.

The lawmakers condemned and rejected the result of the governorship election in the state as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Speaking at the House plenary in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday , Hon Olatunji, described the process leading to the election and final result as unfortunate. He condemned the harassment of the State Governor, Ayo Fayose, PDP leaders across the state and members of the state assembly by security men.

The Chairman House Committee on Information, Hon (Dr) Samuel Omotoso, said the election of July 14, 2018 did not meet up with all democratic credentials.

He pointed out that the election was marred by violence, vote buying and falsification of results.

The Speaker of the Assembly, Honourable (Pastor) Kola Oluwawole, described the election as a show of shame, with thugs and security men openly working for the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).

The lawmakers concluded that the result of the governorship election stood rejected by the House, that the security agencies should vacate the entrance of the Government House where they were currently laying siege and also condemned the siege on the government owned radio and television outfits by armed military personnel.

Buhari specifically told NASS to approve the N228.9 billion from N578, 319, 951.904 billion total projects sum inserted in the budget.

This is contained in a presidential memo dated July 11, 2018 read by Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Tuesday.

“INEC and security agencies have accordingly recently submitted their requests. These have been subjected to the usual budget evaluation. The aggregate cost of the elections is estimated at N242, 445,322,600.

Politics / 2019: Why Northern PDP Must Produce One Presidential Candidate – Wike by Chikexe: 11:24am On Jul 16, 2018
Nyesom Wike, the Governor of Rivers State, has urged Northern leaders under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to pick a consensus presidential candidate in a bid to dethrone the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2019.

Wike said this while playing host to PDP’s presidential aspirant and former Minister of Special Duties, Kabiru Turaki, yesterday in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

He noted that all Nigerians wanted the APC-led Federal Government sacked in 2019 and all PDP needed was for the North to present one candidate who will defeat the APC.

According to Wike, “My interest is for us to have a change of government at the federal level and bring a government of positive change. Nigerians are tired of the failure of the APC. We are bringing a northerner as our presidential candidate. This time religious and ethnic campaign will not work.”

He lamented the porous security under the APC Federal Government which he accused of paying lip service to the killings across the country.

“Each time hundreds of innocent Nigerians are killed, the APC Federal Government says that it will bring the killers to book. We don’t know where the book is,” he added.

Politics / Buhari’s Government Most Corrupt Since 1999''atiku Abubakar by Chikexe: 8:18am On Jul 11, 2018
Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, has described the Buhari-led government ast the most corrupt administration since 1999.

Atiku who was vice president during the Obasanjo administration, said this in Abakaliki, Ebonyi capital, while addressing some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the state secretariat of the party yesterday July 10th.

“What is happening today in our country is in contravention with all our provisions of our constitution. In our federation, we are supposed to have an inclusive government but you know that this federal government is not inclusive. You know that this federal government is not united; you know that this federal government is incompetent; you know that this federal government is more corrupt than any government we have come through since 1999. So, let nobody come and deceive you on corruption, they are more corrupt than any government that I know since 1999 and we shall be revealing their level of corruption. Fighting corruption alone is not the only responsibility of government.” he said

Speaking further, Atiku who is a presidential aspirant, said

“Our unemployment is accelerated high and there have never a time we had more than 11 million people, young people, young women thrown out of job. Today, we have more than 11 million unemployed people. Today, we have witnessed much insecurity in this country. Today, we are witnessing high inflation the APC government has brought to us in this country.”

Politics / UN Speaks On Security Threats In Nigeria by Chikexe: 8:10am On Jul 11, 2018
United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres has called for concerted efforts to neutralize the security challenges in Nigeria.

He said this in the ‘Report of the Secretary-General on the activities of the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS)’, presented to the UN Security Council.

Guterres said asymmetrical attacks were carried out by Boko Haram terrorists against security forces, local authorities and civilians in Nigeria and other West African state.

The UN chief said extremist armed groups continued to harass civilians, carry out targeted abductions or killings, burn down schools and threaten teaching staff.

“In Nigeria, multiple clashes between farmers and herders in the Middle Belt states, as well as in the southern states of Edo, Ebonyi and Kogi, resulted in numerous casualties, population displacement and destruction of property,” he said.

Guterres also expressed concerns on the continued protests by the Islamic Movement in Nigeria IMN) Sheikh Zakzaky, over the detention of its leader and militant groups threat to resume attacks.

Meanwhile, as the 2019 general election draws near, the UN has stated that there was the need to reactivate the National Peace Committee, which played critical roles in ensuring a peaceful 2015 presidential election.

Politics / FFK Officially Welcomes Dino Melaye Back To PDP by Chikexe: 10:30am On Jul 09, 2018
Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has officially welcomed Dino Melaye back to the opposition party, PDP. Read his welcome back letter to Dino below

Yesterday I tweeted the following:

"It is not good enough to say that you are leaving Buhari simply because he came after you. You stood with him when he murdered, detained, insulted, framed up, disgraced, demonised, humiliated and lied about others for 3 years and you cheered him on. You failed to appreciate that those who ride on the back of a tiger always end up in its stomach. Now the tiger is chewing your balls you are wailing. You did not wail when it devoured others. Instead you supported it and enthroned a monster. Kindly ask God and the people to forgive you for your self-induced delusion and folly".

Even though I did not mention his name but was in fact referring to not just him but all those that are about to decamp from the APC to join the PDP, my dear aburo Senator Dino Melaye, responded to me by tweeting as follows:

"My brother FFK and I are both returnee to PDP. He only got healed of political blindness before me. Thank God we both can now see. Once we were blind and now we can see".

When his tweet was brought to my attention I chuckled. I must confess that few have the courage and zeal of Dino and I have always loved him for that.

Not many know that we have been friends for over 20 years and till today I remember vividly the first day that I met him and who introduced us.

I am overjoyed by the notable strides that he has made in politics over the last 15 years and I am pleased about his return to the ranks and fold of the righteous over the last few days.

I am equally pleased that many of his colleagues from the RAPC will soon be joining us and we must welcome them all with open arms.

Politics is a game of numbers and this can only be a good thing. We must all join hands to remove the tyrant and the monster that has held our nation to ransom and that seeks to devour us all.

I am however constrained to say a few things in response to my aburo's jocular tweet in order to set the record straight.

The truth is that unlike him I was never "blind" but I simply let down my guard, closed my eyes for a brief moment and allowed my fleeting anger to becloud my better judgement.

Thankfully I opened those eyes relatively quickly and retraced my steps. I saw the evil and immediately I fled from it.

Within a short period of time such was the power of the stench of the group of people that I had erroneously aligned myself with for a few months in 2013 that I was compelled to open my eyes and flee the scene.

Dino detected the same stench very early on but not only did he choose to hold his nose and stay in that filthy setting but he also opted to assist in putting it in power and enthroning it.

The difference between me and him is that I joined the then opposition party in 2013 and stayed there for only 9 months. I left long before it was recognised as a political party by INEC, long before it was named "APC" and long before Buhari became its presidential candidate.

Unlike Dino I recognised the evil in them and left them long before they came to power in 2015. Unlike Dino I raised the alarm about their genocidal tendencies, their fascistic disposition, their secret desire to field a Muslim/Muslim ticket and their jihadist agenda. Unlike Dino I fought them to a standstill in the 2015 presidential election by boldly speaking for the PDP and President Goodluck Jonathan.

To add to that I have opposed their evil ways and demonic agenda consistently without fear or favour for the last 3 years and my family and I have paid a heavy price for doing so.

For the last 3 years I have been one of the leading voices of the opposition in the country so I have paid my dues. It is time for Dino and co. to pay theirs. I acknowledge that Dino and some of the others have suffered in the last few months and shown immense courage by leaving the APC.

In many ways they are heroes but they still have to do a lot more and they must show some contrition for enthroning Buhari in 2015 and opposing Jonathan. The truth is that they put us in this mess and an apology for that would go a long way.

The biblical prodigal son showed and exhibited some level of contrition and repentance on returning to his fathers house and such a display of such contrition would help in this case.

Unlike Dino I told the world that we must stop the APC at all costs from getting power because from what I had seen during my short time with them they would kill people, lock them up, terrorise the nation and abuse that power if they ever got it.

I was proved right. Dino and co. saw the evil in the APC and instead of following my lead they stayed there, pitched their tent with them, fought for them, spoke for them, campaigned for them, ensured that they won power and openly supported the evil that they subjected Nigerians to for the last 3 years.

In those 3 years many of our people were murdered, demonised, locked up, humiliated, detained, subjected to trumped-up and politically-motivated criminal charges and brutal witchunts, criminalised, misreprsented, threatened, intimidated and demonised. Many were totally destroyed and may never recover.

Unlike Dino and those that supported Buhari, brought him to power and have clapped for him for the last 3 years, I do not have blood on my hands and neither can I be blamed for any of the atrocities that he has committed because I opposed him, stood up to him, resisted him and fought him every day for the last 3 years.

I cannot say the same for my brother Dino and co. who have only just seen the light because they stayed with the evil called Buhari and supported and applauded him for those 3 horrendous years. They turned their back to the light and chose to espouse the darkness.

They fought PDP and President Goodluck Jonathan for that entire period and refused to acknowledge our suffering and sacrifice or condemn Buhari for his evil and homicidal ways, his sectional and divisive politics, his monumental incompetence, his massive corruption and his religious bigotry.

Thankfully today they are saying the things that we said before the 2015 election and what we have been saying consistently for the last 3 years.

I welcome that but they must never compare themselves with someone like me. We were never in the same boat. I chose the hard and difficult path whilst they did not.

I saw the light and fought the evil of Buhari long before he came to power whilst they refused to do so. God gave me the grace, fortitude, courage, wisdom, strength and insight to do so and I have opposed Buhari and his party with all my heart and soul from 2014 up until today. I am very proud of that.

Unlike them for me it was not about political expedience, political pragmatism or about simply winning elections but about principle and ideaological purity.

I could not in good conscience stay in a political party with religious bigots, homicidal maniacs and ethnic supremacists.

I do not believe there can be fellowship between the forces of light and the forces of darkness. I do not believe that there can be any friendship or any union betwen the children of God and the children of Belial.

Let God judge between those of us that stayed with the evil and those of us that opposed it. Whatever the case I congratulate Dino for seeing the light, albeit 3 years late, and for returning to the fold and the land of the living. As they say, it is better late than never!
