Lol..Interviewers are fond of "10 and 11" .I think they should learn to contact(email or SMS) all the candidates, whether successful or not successful. Feedback is very important but these recruiters/interviewers will never learn.

Tell them abeg!

All these crappy rules don't work no more. Especially no 1. That's how I was writing letters up and down with cv after I read a similar post on here and not one single shingha invite. I will even tailor cv to suit, do everything in detail and submit but nothing undecided undecided.

Now the shocker: I got tired and stopped attaching all those plenty grammar cover notes and started sending only my cv : if u like read n call me/if not forgerrit Adon kia! Which bcm my watch statement and before long invites start rolling in Infact I even got an offer frm one of such I ddnt even bother writing jack CL with, I just sent and voila it went thru and after series of interviews n tests I got the job.

Abeg this job hunting thing na continuous prayer o make village ppl comot hand for pesin mata grin grin grin to God be the glory!

grin grin grin applying to jobs is never same as career growth. you can work in 10 different organisations with no growth or improvement- which I am thinking is the case with you anyways. you wish for a career growth then you will need to work in a challenging organisation. One with mentoring and leadership skills provision, real experience attached to an employee. you see that now. Majority that work in a competitive and challenging environment don't go here and there submitting CVs. The career growth is inherent in their organisations. They may be considering a change of job for better pay, different experience and probably more network. olodo , do you get it now -This may be too hard for you to comprehend. lipsrsealed
I didn't read this shiittt..Get off my mentions!

majekdom2:
Career growth is NOT synonymous with CV submission. Apparently, you work in a wack institution- which is a fit for your likes anyways for you to be submitting CVS here and there. Connect with relevant HR professionals and discuss this with them if truly you envisage "career growth" otherwise, you will still be where you are in 20 years.
Dumb head, did you say career growth is not synonymous to cv submission? Then whats synonymous to it? Someone wants a growth in career, the person should just sit and sleep at home ,then wait for manner to fall from above? You obviously don't have a career. Don't you spend your whole life in nairaland job section. See who's preaching to me about connecting with HR personnel, you need that connection more so you don't keep advising job seekers falsely.
Just keep on replying me, I await your comment looser!

what do you know. You are one that still run around submitting CVs here and there with no selling point. Read this and learn http://susanireland.com/job-lounge/send-cover-letter-as-email-attachment/
http://www.monster.com/career-advice/article/cover-letter-point-counterpoint
Except if you ar more experienced than H professionals themselves.
For your information, I'm gainfully employed. The fact that someone is employed doesn't mean the person can't still submit cv. There's something called "Career Growth" ,Ever heard of that Nitwit?? That's what i desire. I won't stop submitting my cv's till i get to the peak of my career.
Keep reading and learning from your dumb link and get dumber.
I still insist that Aproko,Oversabi & ITK doesn't pay....Kapish!

Attaching an application letter is no way being forward. It may be discarded, but it's it's way of selling other skills your CV may not contain. Many employers will not tell you to attach it but it is what many check out for.
it is being forward if you weren't asked to. That's how people fail. Why don't you also attach your credentials cos according to you "many employers will check for it"
Oversabi,Aproko,ITK doesn't pay.
Learn to obey/follow instructions!

I don't agree with your number 1. It is always advisable to follow instructions. If you see a job advert that comes with "send application and cv" then you must obey. But if it says only "send your cv" then you must send only your cv with a mail stating that your cv has been attached.
Employers always look out for that. Jobseekers don't need to be too forward. If they didn't say you should send application letter or cover letter, don't send.
