Nairaland GeneralBuhari Weeps As UK Exposes Amaechi Loots, Probes Apc's Campaign Funds by Chimighty007(op):
A leading Newspaper in the United Kingdom, UK, ‘The Mail Daily’ , has on Sunday, May 15, published a report revealing how the former Governor of Rivers State and current Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi, looted Nigeria’s treasury.

The report added, that President Muhammadu Buhari’s ‘fantastically corrupt” friend, spent over $140 million on the president’s 2015 campaign and has been accused of stealing £500 million.

“But although, Buhari is seen by some as leading the battle against corruption, but worrying allegations swirl around one of his close allies,” the British Newspaper said.

“Rotimi Amaechi, who traveled with the president to the summit, is Nigeria’s transport minister and is said to have bankrolled Buhari’s presidential campaign.”

Recall, that Amaechi has been indicted by a judicial commission of inquiry in Rivers State for looting the treasury of the state, when he served as Governor for eight years.

However, Amaechi had denied the allegations of corruption and refused to appear before the judicial panel of inquiry to defend himself.

This revelation is coming, following a remark last week by UK Prime Minister, David Cameron, in which he described Nigeria as one of the most corrupt countries in the world, tagging the West African giant as “fantastically corrupt”.

Local media in Nigeria had tagged Amaechi the ATM of Buhari’s presidential campaign and his party the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Amaechi is praised by APC leaders for single-handedly funding the governorship campaigns of at least five APC governors, including that of former speaker, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State.

“Amaechi remains in his post despite being accused of misappropriating £338 million by a commission investigating the sale of state assets,” the UK Mail observed as it questioned Buhari’s sincerity in fighting corruption.

“Separately, Amaechi is accused of diverting £140 million of state funds into Buhari’s presidential campaign, with reports he paid for media, consultants and private jets.

“The allegations come as the president stands accused of enjoying a lavish lifestyle, while many millions suffer in poverty.

“A leaked draft budget for 2016 showed the Nigerian government earmarked £16 million for the refurbishment and maintenance of the president’s official residence, Aso Rock Guest House, in the capital Abuja.

“There was also a request for £13 million for building a VIP wing at a hospital used by families of the president and his ministerial team,” the paper noted.

Nobody is controlling any price my friend. If you don't know that drop in the price of oil in the international market is the major reason why every commodity's price skyrocketed then you must obviously be living in one saturated planet. Nigeria is a what my friend? Well Nigeria is a mono economy and also an importing nation, we virtually import everything from pencil to cars. We have relied on oil for so long without diversity our economy and that's why everybody is feeling the heat when the price of oil crashed. And this unfortunate event is not only synonymous to Nigeria but also to every oil exporting country like Angola, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Russia, etc.

We should even be more grateful to God that our own recessive situation came with a handkerchief to wipe our tears at the end of the day. Venezuela will be praying vehemently to God to put them in our situation now so as Angola, Qatar etc.
My dear sometimes some of us approach issues with so much sentiments, emotions and selfishness; to be honest with u, the govt is confused, nobody advices PMB cos all of them are scared and are loyalists. Right now he's just after doing what he feels will sound good in the ears of the learned and has left effect on the high and mighty. What we are all saying is don't just give or impose on us, ur good intentions but do it with timing and season cos both controls everything all the sun. In Nigeria, I can confidently say that two things mostly affects the price of goods, namely; transportation - determined by fuel price, which also affect power required for production though the effect is minimal and the second factor is foreign exchange reason been that we import most of our products.

To me, I think the govt should have stabilised the availability of fuel even if its at 100 or 120/L, then with all the money we've recovered from loot and ghost workers supposed earnings, tackle the key factors one after the other but our govt approch everything at once and by the end of their tenure they accomplish none, if not by now, one or two years in a tenure could have settled health care issue, another transportation, another education, power etc with all the tenures that have come and gone none accomplished or curbed one of the nations problem instead they keep handing it over. God help us!

They all have guns AK47 for that matter, some of them even helped during our communal crisis in Delta state...they also attacked some communities maimed, raped, killed and destroyed farmers and their farms. A lady who buys cow from them was invited to inspect and buy cow in the bush and they stabbed her and collected her money but the presence of a tapper scared them from killing her completely

But one thing I believe is that no matter how easy or difficult it took a guy to win a girl or she did the wooing; personality of both determines the outcome, we only misjudge most times due to our misconception about love affair.

Ur motive and ur purpose will go along way determining how they will both carry themselves in the relationship
