BuddahMonk I respect but this thread is a crap! Let every state develop at their own pace. I say NO to this regional nonsense. Too much of "nwanne m" or extended family stuff has a way of drawing people backward. Every state should go and develop at their own pace and strength. |
Politics › Re: Easterners Let's Meet Here by chinolization: 9:18pm On Jun 08, 2015 |
More reason why I don't buy this regional integration whatever. Why will any sane person say that Anambra with the biggest economy east of Niger doesn't need an international airport? Thank goodness one is already under construction at Umuleri near Onitsha. Let every state go it separate way and develop at their own pace. This regional nonsense has a way of drawing fast moving states back. I go with you waternogatenemy: I answered this question. If u want to build a commercial city, u definately need airport in Onitsha more so than Asaba.
Asaba can always be downgraded to regional/local status. The First point of call for any serious development move is the transport sector. As it stands now in the east with good advicers in 30 years we can be the next China.
We have all that it takes, people, resources and land. Let us go there. |

Leave the sick guy to go his way! I for one do not ever want to set my eyes on him, because if I do I will always remember how he looks in his PICTURES..no insult intended though! Please let him stay away, very far from us! BuddahMonk: Am begging you to post for likes, am telling you that you have done anything here for anybody to start seeing you as a brother as your just lobbying for us to see you. This is a faceless forum, your handle says your one of us, your attitude always show your against us.
Am judging you by your attitude inhere not by it outthere. Its either your with us or your against us. |

Spot on! Please we do not need that guy here! BuddahMonk: Because you bear Nnewi1stSon but you have never contributed on this thread since inception, you only look for opportunity to jump into fight with Chino thats why we are not feeling your absence here (I doubt if your from Nnewi actually)
Everybody here had one misunderstanding with someone else because of divergent views but you will always remember your one time opponent used to have something meaningful to contribute here so the enmity will die down .
You only come here to insult us for not traveling to North, if you had made any contribution here dig it out let's analyze, but your always on Enugu thread contributing.
For the time being we don't see you as one of us because you always isolate yourself from us, this is a generic sentiment share by most of us here until you start showing that home is where your heart should really be. |

The Hausa guy where did you meet him? The guy must have spent most of his life living in Onitsha! Of course I know good number of Alhajis resident in the city. Zonacom: I was chatting playfully with a hausa man just two days ago and he called me Okokporo in igbo. At first, i was shocked and inquired to know if he knew the meaning of the word he used. Then he told me to go and get married so as to start fending for my kids. The man's brother later told me that the man sells onions in Onitsha and has been in the trade for years. I have seen several hausa and yoruba men who can communicate fluently in igbo even more than some igbo people. Their only difference with igbos who can speak other nigerian languages is that they hardly speak it amongst themselves. |

That's a good point! cjrane: Do you know why bridge pillars are usually so big? Do you know why bridges or flyovers cost much much more than buildings? Because they are designed to carry dead weight of vehicles. A volkwagen beetle car weighs 1,000 pounds or one ton when it has nobody inside! That is about the weight of 8-10 grown up men. Nowadays. cars are built with more comfort and more are SUVs so they weigh 3 or 4 times more than a VW beetle. Not to talk about when the cars have any luggage in the boot. That is why engineers typically prefer to use the earth surface or ground floor as parking to carry the dead weight of vehicles. While the weight of building (which is the weight of the bricks and the maximum number of people expected inside at every time) can typically be calculated and built without too much structural support needed by building bridge like pillars. |

You are right but I think the parking at the roof top is just limited. The open paved lawn will still have bulk of the parking space. The Nnewi Triangle that I know is such a large site that accommodate over a thousand cars. Let us see how it all plays out. cjrane: My biggest fear about Nnewi Mall is that it was designed to carry a car parking lot in the roof. This will make it exorbitantly expensive to build. Even when it is a small size.Since it is like building a bridge on top of a mall. They could easily have used the ground floor as the parking lot and used the first and second floor as mall space which would still be cheaper to build than the current design of having the parking lot situated on the first floor. What needs to happen is to change the design especially with putting the parking lot on the ground floor and make the mall a multisorey building to have as much space as it ever requires. |
