Her name is Ifeoma but she was called Iphie. She has a Ghanaian father and an Igbo mother. I am really hurt right now because I have given her lift on a number of occasions while she was working at Awka Silverbird. Then I was still single, thank goodness we didn't go intimate if not it could have hurt me harder. Zonacom: Too bad! I can still remember her sweet voice on rhythm and soul back then in Awka. Until now i never knew her name is spelt as above. May her soul RIP |

But I have found out that Enugu and IMO citizens are sometimes pained by progress in Anambra, just as some Anambra people here go to Enugu and IMO thread to display thin veiled jealousy at the progress in those state. I'll give it to Abia, Anioma and Ebonyi people as those who are generally happy with the progress of the region without being state specific. |

Yes you very correct. I forgot you are too conversant with that area. BuddahMonk: Its not Atani, Atani is the capital of Ogbaru and very close after Odekpe and Ohita.
its Ogwu Aniocha, they are in Ogbaru but they go their villa through Ihiala, they have boundaries with both Oguta Imo State and Ndoni Rivers State but a Bridge need to be constructed to access the divide.
If they are traveling with vehicle they will move through Atani Rd but that will be very far though Obi worked the road but with Okada they can just drop at Ihiala and go to their house.
They are surrounded by rivers, before the Ogwu Aniocha is Ogwu Ikpere the hometown of Chu Chu Onyema former HoR member, though the town is at war with the king but the situation is under control now. |

Anambra has boundary with Edo at the north(water boundary), has boundary with River at the South, has boundary with Abia and Imo at far south, has boundary with Enugu state at the east, has boundary with Delta at the west(water boundary, has boundary with Bayelsa though a tiny water boundary and Kogi at the far north. Edo Rivers Delta Bayelsa Abia Imo Enugu Kogi FreeGlobe: Really, I always thought it was only kogi, imo, delta and enugu that shares boundary with Anambra. A lot of development is ongoing particularly in Awka and it is ongoing all at once. Like this is Eze-Iweka street at Awada and I heard that Mgbemena has been awarded and it is already as wide as this.. If we put a divider you will call it something else Cuche: No doubt about the network of roads, Whether tarred or not, the reason for that is the fact that down the memory lane we have been blessed with a vibrant town unions. One of the notable foundational activities of the town unions, predating indepence is collective marking out Lands to be used as roads, for schools, for churches, markets and interconnects from one town to another. That type of cooperation is lacking in some other zones But at the time greed and selfishness crept in, indigenous land owners at Awka, Nnewi felt it was a waste to make out the atleast 30 feet for roads, that was the origin of narrow roads. Now, apart from Government layouts and a few other private layouts, many artery roads in Awka, Onitsha and Nnewi are irritatingly narrow. Annoyingly, the Government tarred the roads like that without any effort to maybe get some feet left or right (expansion ) of the roads, most of which can be gotten without damage beyond fences Obi is no better than Ngige. If not for anything Ngige is more quality oriented and very strict when it comes to standards. I remember when he came to supervise a particular road in 2004, RCC had a plan of a drainage. Ngige said No it must be dual drainage and over 10 years down it's paying off

yeah nwanne BuddahMonk: looooooooool
A lane Roads in Harbour can nearly accommodate a stadium now, the roads are badtest vast.
Obi chop money at Harbour Layout, I lives at Iyiowa I know the place like the back of my scrotum now. When the road was bad the entire Ogbaru LG had no roads, Ngige started Atani Road and was removed before he got to the bridge, Obi came and stopped work, Etiaba came and took it down to Iyiowa, when Obi came back he too it to different level, he turned Harbour into a worldclass industrial layout with massive road expansion.
Obi took the Atani Road leftward to bust out at Ozubulu beside Jerome Udoji building along Onitsha-Owerri Road and straight to Ogwu Ikpele to Ogwu Aniocha to the border between Anambra and Rivers State with countless Bridges because those areas are swampy and riveline communities. Until you visit Ogbaru LG you will know what stuff Obi is made of. |

Yes! Ndoni in Rivers state has a common boundary with Atani (Ogbaru) in Anambra state. They have similar culture and language. Peter Odili attended CKC Onitsha and he is from Ndoni and his ancestral origin was once traced to Ogbaru. I don't know if that is political or not. Ogbaru equally has as much crude oil deposit likewise Ndoni in Rivers. FreeGlobe: Chino, does Anambra have a boundary with Rivers? I'm curious. If yes, what are the local governments constituting it in both states |

Austin the owner of the Anambra based Ausco Farms is investing wisely at home.. FreeGlobe: In other news, Obiano's wife launches Awka Awka Wonderland Amusement Park and Resort On the heels of the ever-growing interest by potential investors in support of the programmes of the governor Obiano administration in Anambra State, Wife of the governor, Chief (Mrs.) Ebelechukwu Obiano has urged potential investors especially wealthy Anambra indegenes to emulate the example of the proprietor of Awka Wonderland and Ausco Farms Limited, Chief Austin Ndigwe and bring home investments to the state to help create employment and grow the state economy. Mrs. Obiano made the plea while on inspection of facilities at Awka Wonderland Amusement Park and Resort in Awka Anambra State.
Mrs. Obiano observed that the administration of her husband and the accommodating nature of the Ndi Anambra have made the state a preferred investment destination. According to Mrs. Obiano, “Our state Anambra is now safe for everyone thanks to the governor who has promoted security and put in place attractive policies to encourage investment. I expect that our wealthy sons and daughters will now contribute their quota and wealth of experience into the socio-economic development of the state. Awka Wonderland is a very good initiative which should be emulated.”
Mrs. Obiano who described Ndi Anambra as very industrious and progressive people, emphasized that governor Obiano administration had laid the ground work and built the necessary infrastructure for businesses to thrive. She assured that government has provided enabling environment for businesses and industries to thrive in the state.
Furthermore, Mrs. Obiano stated, “I am not just saying this because he is my husband but because I am also from Anambra and we are all witnesses to the transformation going on in the state, they are building institutions. My role is merely to support him and anyone ready to work in the interest of our state. Let us join hands with the government and collectively resolve to build our state. If we do not, nobody can do it for us.”
She thanked the proprietor of the facility for the good job and promised him that she will ensure the support of her pet project, Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFÉ) through the use of the facilities, and also appeal for government continuous support for those like him who are willing and able to make the sacrifice.
In his remark the proprietor of the centre Chief Austine Ndigwe thanked governor Obiano for his investor-friendly policies and urged other companies to take advantage of the conducive environment existing in the state and locate their factories in the state. He equally commended the wife of the governor for finding time to visit the facilities promising that they are ready to offer Ndi Anambra a new experience in leisure and hospitality.

For instance, this is a particular road at Harbor Industrial Estates, if I put a demarcation what shall you call it? 4 lanes? 6 lanes? ACM10: n The thing tire me o. I don't know if old Enugu-Osha road is narrow? That road is wider than presidential road, ogui road, ziks' avenue and Okpara avenue in Enugu. Maybe their only grouse is that there is no artificial demarcation to make it answer dualized road. Awka road in Onitsha is as wide as Ogui road in Enugu. We can criticize the government for not building pedestrian walkways, but basing the argument on the narrowness is what I won't subscribe to.

The question is, are the roads really narrow or the mischief makers are trying hard to make us believe otherwise. For me I will rank the governors in this order Ngige is good, Obi is better and Obiano is the best(going by his farts so far). Some of the best road networks can only be found in Anambra. I want to see this sort of quality roads elsewhere but people will not like to talk about it! Why is that? yang: I dislike all these talk about narrow roads. Till date Anambra has the best road network in Nigeria and that's due to efficient utilization of resources while avoiding white elephant double lane projects which always involves paying compensation to a community to acquire their land. Please also stop insulting Peter obi,he is the best governor we had and nobody is perfect

Politics › Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by chinolization: 7:25am On Jun 03, 2015 |
Is this what they even call narrow roads? If this is what is called narrow roads let us see it elsewhere in other states where there are some of the worst roads ever. It is even only in the oil rich Akwa-ibom that you may find this sort well finished marked roads and Anambra is not an oil rich state. ACM10: Left to me, I prefer narrow good roads that littered the length and breadth of Anambra to bad roads that littered the outskirts of other states capital. We should praise Peter Obi for interconnecting Anambra. Every part of Anambra is easily accessible, thanks to Peter Obi. Even Ngige built narrow roads too. Let us not be armchair critics. We should support the efforts of the government. If you drive round Anambra with your car, you will be full of praises for the efforts of some previous governors.
