Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Online Job Hunting... How Reliable/Effective Is It In Nigeria? by Chionyins(m): 3:17am On Apr 30, 2012
@ Sigba,
Really interesting.... my understanding is that yes its possible i have heard people getting jobs from abroad mostly though through the net
However as a starter fresh from school in 9ja think everything one can do is just right to find a job ...MY ADVICE is to do as much: internet, handing in c.v.,
literally as much as its cost effective to one's resources ITS NOT EASY.
But things have OPENED UP in our dear country ... one can start on his/her own!
there is a growth of opportunities...then again its start up costs for a fresher with limited funds so the cycle of job hunting should be continual
But i may suggest getting to do something that would generate an income in any fashion that one can manage and build on!!!
All the pitch above quite from the heart thus an opportunity i need to introduce to you maybe you would allow me to post same in your posts.
I tend not to just post stuff - links that is promising all sorts, i want to give this opportunity from relationship i may develop like i am trying to do sigba
So if you can do send me an email at audpet30412@gmail.com if sceptical use your ordinary email address and i would reply you asap
cheers and hope to chat with you

Properties / Re: Real Estate In Nigeria: What Is It Like? by Chionyins(m): 12:52am On May 16, 2007
netzymes:

Dear bedone,

When you say go into it do you mean as a business or you are looking for investments. The market right now is a speculators market, high risk, high rewards. It would be interesting to find out how many people that have given their advise so far have invested in the market and what the returns are.

There are many VERY NICE developments/houses in Lekki Phase 1, Ajah etc that are currently empty - no buyers and no tenants. You have to do some work on what type of properties you want to invest in or build, who your target market is - find out what the salary level of young professionals are and how much of this they can save and pay for a place - if you are looking for rent and capital gains.

Please remember there are no guarantees. I hear the see the words HOT etc. There is a lot of activity as far as people building in those areas but the quick rentals are under N500,000. The quick sales are under N5m. Anything around N10m and you could struggle competing with larger developers.

Hope this helps.

Good luck!

Netzmes,
I am surprised u said one can get a place for 5million in lekki quick sale though and that their are empty properties also; i thot its HOT as in HARD to get!!!. I am looking at getting something in lekki axis, i would appreciate any contacts on this props!! thanks n cheers

Business / Re: Robert Kiyosaki: His 'Rich Dad' Does 'Not Exist'? by Chionyins(m): 7:27pm On Apr 24, 2007
@dolly,
I think i understand your stance. My suggestion is What u dont know is more than you , literally thats one lesson my mum always drums into my ears. For some its brilliant and for some its not. So i always advie READ EVERYTHING becos u can only be what u know but ubecome waht u do eventually , so your advice about DOJNG THINGS IS THE ONLY WAY ONE CAN REACH WHEREEVER one wants to go. Bill gates etc probably didnt read ROBEET K. but how are u sure they didnt read something that inspired them.I ahve not read their autobios though!!!
Anyway my adviceis whatever one wantds to buy a book , ASK SOMEONE THATS HAS READ IT AND THE POSSIBLE LESSONS ONE CAN LEARN FROM IT, my first educative books as teenager were agatha christies books , i collect them now!!!!so it depends on one !!!!!!
Business / Re: Robert Kiyosaki: His 'Rich Dad' Does 'Not Exist'? by Chionyins(m): 7:08pm On Apr 24, 2007
@all,
I have read but one of his books. I have learnt alot from his books personally. And i thot myself as i read the third one that its not probably real, now it does not matter if its real, i learnt alot about. things you read in the conventional economic books but never really get the lesson but with his books i get the lesson and its applicable thats the bottom line for me. if its works!!! the books been repetitive is even why i like it i learnt the lesson well then its worth the money !!!!becos its by repetitions we learn. He didnt write it for a charitable cause i guess.
I am teaching my family the lessons i learnt so that they dont have to BUY the books LOL, and the effect is tremendous in less than 6 months. I can bet Reed has made some money from all that about ROBEET K.

@ loads,
How was it that is the seminar??I hope i can go for one , i am not in the states!! I for no mind some tips o!!!And the games i havent either guess its equally very stimulating.
cheers
Business / Re: Let's Talk About Warren Buffet by Chionyins(m): 8:32pm On Apr 18, 2007
I agree we shld adapt his methods but my thinking is will his methods necessarily apply to naija. He operated in a stable economy and nigeria is not one yet; every sphere of niaga polity has defiled the books:have defiled theory!!!
In essence i suggest we maxime this times.Guess that would by trading. So maybe naijarise buffett methods!!!
Investment / Re: Investment: Bank Shares Or A Plot Of Land? by Chionyins(m): 8:21pm On Apr 18, 2007
@spiolt,
i want to believe u can still get land for real, from the right source. I am weary of lagos though!!!

I would still prefer u split your investment with shares and if possible land; there are land u can get for 150k outside lagos!!!

Business / Re: Let's Talk About Warren Buffet by Chionyins(m): 1:09am On Apr 17, 2007
@Frank,
I am not doubting you only doubting if he would have been this rich if he was a nigerian. My piont been that our environment is very different. THIS IS NAIJA!!!
Ok dangote clean biz made man abi But not in investing in stock abi?? I was trying to liken spmeone naijaman to buffett, do we have any one cleanbiz that started from the scratch. I emphasis our niaja factors so that we dont look at buffet too much but our fellow naija man that would have gone thru the naija factors of instability extrended family and etc unique only to niaja environment. Our stock market even defiles all indices.
I think discussing buffet na academic exercise abi

I didnt bring anything o!!
Na question i ask. U can ppplllleeeeaaaasssseeeee read my earlier post on page 9.
No vex na quuestion wey i ask I dont believ in ethnicity, our diversity is our main stewnght sef but for nigeria, ok here i go again
abege na who go win election presidential i mean?
Politics / Re: Nigeria's Image Was Badly Damaged On Oprah Today! by Chionyins(m): 1:04am On Apr 16, 2007
@jakumo,
Ok the 419s are mainly ibos by your assessment.
Kindly enlighten me what crime is mainly yorubas'?
what crime is mainly the midlle belt ethnic groups'?
what crime is mainly hausa/fulanis'?
I would appreciate your enlighten assessment on above

@egoldman,
i agree with your post as per having the state again.
I liken it to the way the jews had to be driven away from europe.
Can any one (Jakumo maybe you can also enlighten us here) please relate to:: the ibos been the jews of nigeria?
Politics / Re: Nigeria's Image Was Badly Damaged On Oprah Today! by Chionyins(m): 1:04pm On Apr 15, 2007
@jakumo,
So in other words the ibo men are the 419ers!!! 419 now covers alot of crime !!!!
It would be interesting toknow which particular crime u mean the ibo 419ers are majority so to say? or are you saying they are the masters of the 419 crimes, to subdivide 419 like advance fee cum yahoo yahoo ; wash wash, credit card fraud etc.
How about the biggest 419? the '41 10'the looting of the treasury that caused all this.
I repeat thats the core root of thsi mess , everybody is involved in different parts of the world , every ethnic group (thanks the one )has cornered a part of the world to survive after CUTTING OUT from ngeria.

HEY come to think of it IBOS ARE MOST SUCEESFUL RESPECTED NIGERIANS ABROAD , the list is endless okonja of world bank , my man Philip Emegweli(A former ontisha trader)even CIA protects the guy, o too much to list here.
How about that!!!!!!
Politics / Re: Nigeria's Image Was Badly Damaged On Oprah Today! by Chionyins(m): 12:21pm On Apr 15, 2007
@walelead
i concur, i was trying to say something like that in the earlier posts1 the major one is the looting at home, it is direct and the main damage to the image of nigeria. Oprah should talk more on that becos its the root.
Which oil producing country has a bad image of their leaders has ours.
The root is here in naija not any particular tribe overseas!!!!!!!
