here in ansu, schl is very busy freshers doing their clearence same with graduates.......but am kind of surprised up to date statement of result is not ready, i feel like involving the police in this case, after spending my time down to schl to see things myself....
according to staff in stdnt affair they told me strike or no strike we are good to go.
but what boarding me is the statement result, no good explanation ...
heading back to lag first thing tomorrow morning...

No fewer than two persons died and
10 others injured as two residential
buildings collapsed in Lagos Island
area of Lagos on Wednesday night.
Our correspondent learnt that the
three-storey building on No.15 Alli
Street collapsed around 11.00 pm
and fell on a bungalow on No.13 of
the same street, leading to its
collapse.
It was gathered that the three storey
building was distressed and marked
as one of the many distressed
buildings on Lagos Island.
To avert high casualty rescued
operation was carried out by
combined effort of government
officials, youths and members of the
Community Development Association
in the area.
As at time of filling this report,
officials of the Lagos State Emergency
Management Agency (LASEMA) and
the Lagos State Fire Service were on
the ground for the rescue operation.
General Manager, LASEMA, Dr. Femi
Oke-Osanyintolu, told journalists that
two persons died in the collapsed
buildings, saying that the three-
storey building caved in at 11pm on
Wednesday night.
He added that, “The building
collapsed on top of a bungalow next
to it. Emergency response was
activated with all stakeholders on the
ground. 10 people were evacuated
and taken to the General Hospital
and Massey Hospital.
“Two dead bodies were recovered
and have been deposited in the
morgue as emergency response is
still ongoing,’ he stated.
He added that 10 other people were
rescued from the debris of the
collapse and that investigation was
ongoing to ascertain the cause of the
collapse of the building.
Osanyitolu said LASEMA made use of
its sophisticated equipment in
rescuing victims from the debris,
adding that as at this morning, the
rescue team had reached the ground
floor as nobody was still strapped in
the debris.
He said “We will carry out our
investigation to ascertain the cause of
the collapse. The commissioners for
physical planning and urban
development and special duties are
on the ground. We have condoned
off the area,” he said.
LEADERSHIP checks show that over
10 buildings have collapsed in Lagos
in the last nine months, with Lagos
Island topping the chart of collapse
buildings.

One of the oldest colonial drainages in the country, located on Old Market Road, Onitsha in Anambra State, has collapsed, cutting off the main market. The collapsed bridge also damaged a car parked on the road leading to the market.

It was gathered that the drainage, built by the colonial masters, early 1927, started caving in recently, following lack of maintenance and heavy traffic. It finally yielded to pressure yesterday and collapsed.

An eyewitness, who has a shop opposite the collapsed drainage and gave her name simply as Chinwe, said the collapse of the bridge might not be unconnected with its age as well as lack of maintenance by successive administrations in the state.

Chinwe disclosed that she heard a loud sound, when the drainage collapsed, adding that a Toyota Siena car parked along the road was affected, following the shockwaves created by the collapse of the drainage.
