PhonesThis Is How My Romance With The Innjoo One Came To An End by Chizak24(op): 2:42pm On Jul 21, 2015
Remember that sleek quad-core, 2GB-RAM Android smartphone from Innjoo that had myself and several others drooling? It was the One that Elroy described as the fast race horse in our review http://mobilityarena.com/innjoo-one-review-fast-race-horse/. Plus, it cost just less than N30,000 in the market. And the guys at Innjoo had said that it would receive Android 5 Lollipop update.

Well, my romance with the Innjoo One 3G HD is over. Here is how it happened. After we were done with our review of the device here at Mobility Arena, we kept it in the office for reference purposes. It was always in my care. If it wasn’t in my hand, it was locked away in my drawer. Eventually, months later, we decided that it was time to sell it off. A buyer paid and after doing the mandatory hard reset to clear the phone of my personal data, we shipped it off – the same way we had shipped hundreds of other phones to customers across Nigeria over the years. We were surprised when the buyer called to say that the phone was defective and wouldn’t come on.

After some back and forth with members of our team, he took it to Innjoo’s care centre at Ikeja where it was opened for inspection. The diagnosis returned was that the phone was “water damaged”. That was odd. It never came in contact with water in my hand. Water has never got into my office or drawer. And the phone pack is still with us and is intact. There is no touch of water on the pack – and the phone was always in that pack when locked away. Eventually, we asked the buyer to return it and we refunded his money. We exchanged a few mails with Innjoo and we were asked to send it in for examination.

Once again, Innjoo returned a verdict of “water damaged” and slapped on us a bill of N19,000 to repair the phone. A member of our team has been to Innjoo twice, and Innjoo is sticking to its diagnosis of water damage. I am sticking my reputation on the line to affirm that water did not once touch that phone during its time with me, and that it functioned without any issues till the time we shipped it off. I have owned over 135 smartphones in over 10 years. Only one of them ever got damaged in my care. One. That was a Samsung Galaxy S2. It fell from my hand, hit the floor and the screen was shattered. I paid for the replacement of the screen myself. Back then, it cost me N25,000.

I took good care of the Innjoo One. If it had gotten damaged in my care, I would have had it fixed at my own expense.

So, here are the possibilities that I can see:

Innjoo used defective (rusted material, hence the appearance of “water damage”, if at all) materials in the production of the phone (which we cannot prove)

Somehow, between our office and arrival at the buyer, the phone got water damaged (which I doubt, as there is no trace of water touching the sales pack, plus the pack was sealed in the mandatory synthetic bag for shipping)

The phone got water damaged in the hands of the buyer (which we have no way of proving either) Whatever really happened, I am not spending N19,000 to repair the Innjoo one 3G.

I have moved on. May its soul rest in perfect peace.

PhonesRe: Speed That Kills : Elroy Reviews The Infinix Zero 2 by Chizak24(op): 2:34pm On Jun 22, 2015
Final Words: The Infinix Zero 2 can be likened to a fast sports car that runs at the speed of light while consuming loads of fuel. Or like a young man like that hustled to have everything, and literally running faster than his shadow. We already know the consequences. This device is uber-slim, uber-sexy, uber-fast, with uber- sweet camera. If you care less about battery life then for you, this is a match made in heaven.

PhonesRe: Speed That Kills : Elroy Reviews The Infinix Zero 2 by Chizak24(op): 2:33pm On Jun 22, 2015
Software and Display UI:

The Infinix Zero 2 shipped Android KitKat 4.4.2 on board. After first boot an OTA update popped up with a few bug fixes. This phone comes with an updated form of Aliyun OS , dark themed with a revamped new look icons. And very appealing to the eyes, far better improved from what we have seen in previous Infinix models. Here we have a 5 inch AMOLED HD display with a resolution of 720 x 1280. The display is super crisp and sharp. Viewing angles is superb, Sunlight legibility is great. The on screen buttons somewhat takes up some part of the screen.

Camera:
The 13 MP camera of the Infinix Zero 2 is super sharp. The sensor takes in lots of detail even in dark areas the flash does just fine. One peculiar thing here, in low light conditions and with flash turned off, the camera still manages to come up with fine images. Here we have a 5 MP 85 degree wide-angle front camera. Plenty heads can be accommodated in a selfie. Picture resolutions appear in 2560 x 1920 pixels. Awesome!

Multimedia: Music playback is great on the Infinix Zero 2. The volume is loud and clear. The default music player has a nice interface with sound effects feature. Watching videos here is really cool not forgetting the HD AMOLED display. We were able watch 1080p videos smoothly and hassle free.

Multitasking /Performance: Now here’s the sweetest part of the Infinix Zero 2. This phone is fast, everything is fast, one touch in a twinkle of an eye it responds. See the results of the Antuntu and Quadrant tests.

Battery life:
The Infinix Zero 2 has an average battery life. With 2 SIM cards installed, steady 3G, 4 hours of hotspot, 2 hours movie playback we were able to churn out approximately 8 hours before the phone gave up. In simple English, if you’re a heavy phone user, you need a power bank by your side if you want this phone to last a whole day. You can choose to activate the inbuilt power save mode to churn out extra hours.

Miscellaneous:
Delving around the settings we noticed you can actually change fonts on this phone without even rooting. If Gesture controls is your thing, be glad because there are lots of available options you can customize to your taste. USB OTG works smoothly, Call clarity is OK. The SIM slot is hot swappable – this means you can swap/change your SIM cards without having to reboot your device. If you care less about battery life then for you, this is a match made in heaven

PhonesSpeed That Kills : Elroy Reviews The Infinix Zero 2 by Chizak24(op): 2:29pm On Jun 22, 2015
The build up to the launch of the Infinix Zero 2 was full of hype, glamour and social media campaigns. All over social media. The Next Hero, from Zero to Hero, ‘Kevlar this, Kevlar that’ were common acronyms we were getting conversant with. The launch event – in which we were present – was also a grand occasion all in honor of this Zero 2 flagship. The Infinix Zero 2 is a successor to the highly successful breakthrough Infinix Zero. Coming with face lifts in almost all ramifications. Does this device live up to the hype, Is this the mobile Hero we noble brethren yearn for?

Looking at its key features:
5.0 – inch HD AMOLED display, with 720 × 1280 pixels (294 PPI) with Gorilla Glass 3
Android KitKat 4.4.2
MediaTek MT6592 chipset with octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex and 2 GB of RAM.
13 MP Autofocus camera with LED flash, pixel count 3120 x 4160 pixels and Video recording of 1080p.
5 MP 85 degree wide-angle, front-facing camera, with pixel count 2560 x 1920 pixels and 480p video recording.
Fully partitioned 32 GB internal storage ( 27 GB usable).
Dual SIM support, Both Micro-SIM, 3G switchable, and hot swapping. 2300mAh battery, Non-removeable.

Main Disadvantages
Mediocre battery life.
Non-removable battery.

The Infinix Zero 2 is a very interesting piece of hardware. First you notice that it’s unbelievably slim. Far. Slimmer that it’s predecessor and the sides have a smooth metal finishing. The front offers you HD AMOLED screen with scratch resistant Gorilla glass 3, and front facing 5 MP camera.

At the top you see the micro USB port and 3.5 mm earphone jack. The left hand side carries the Dual SIM tray while on the right hand side bears, the micro SD card slot, volume rockers and power button, in that order. The bottom side features the external microphone and speakers. We like the positioning of speakers such that leaving the phone on a surface doesn’t block off sound. The back side is made of ‘bullet proof’ Kevlar material. The bezels on the upper and lower sides are too big. This device has onscreen buttons which is cool, but it’s bad that the bezel on the lower part is just empty. Since we have onscreen buttons the lower bezel should’ve just been eliminated or reduced in the the best way possible.

I'm blazing KitKat and Xposed Installer works.. But Gravity Box module doesn't work. Modules like Greenify and Instagram downloader works . You have to disable resource hooks in Xposed settings for your modules to work...

To save your KitKat battery, Install this Xposed module, Deep Sleep Battery Saver and thank me later..

Lastly Run to Play Store and install Developer Options ,open the app , Select Runtime and pick ART.. This will ensure smooth phone operations.. Na till then you will enjoy the full benefits of KitKat.. If you never upgrade, you're on a long thing.. Meet you in Android L!!

Rufex07: Please I need help urgently.
I just rooted my phone with vROOT and it was successful. My challenge now is that I have a Tecno L3 which has my data on it which I want to transfer to the M2. I have backed up my data on the L3 which I copied the file into the M2 to restore it there but it comes up with; "Error: Checksum compare fail".

Please I really need the data on the L3 as against setting up new applications that I already have chat logs and other things on.

Thank you.
if you are rooted, enable usb debugging mode and use titanium backup to backup your apps and data to SD card. Put it back on the M2 and restore.

quivah: Thanks to those who responded to my complain..

I formatted the phone this morning after backing up my apps..and everything became normal.
However I noticed the problem should be caused by the batterysaver I'm using(batterydoctor, DX battery saver) caused I reinstall both of them and the p came back..have uninstalled them now, no more restarting of apps nor lags.
its good you discovered d prob urself. Una no sabi say battery saver apps are useless. Until you are rooted, thou shall not attain true multitasking
