Hello all, please I paid for WES but haven't sent my documents yet. Please anyone from UNICAL, how did you do it? Last time I checked their useless portal wasn't working. |
Hello all. Please I have some questions. I'm trying to do my WES with UNICAL. I see WES requested for transcript and certificate. If I pay my school to send the transcript to WES do I tell them to include a copy of my certificate? Or I should give m school a copy to send? Or should I just fax it to WES myself. Second question. I'm looking at the possibility of writing BCS certification exam to boost my CRS score. Where is using BCS more effectively used? As part of my WES verification? Or as part of my EE profile? Abeg if there's a WhatsApp group add me 07038716330 |

How can you review a phone you have not used or seen with your koro koro eyes. SMH!! |
Hello Mobilista’s, this is another weekend and we have another reason to pour out our hearts on topical issues. Today, we write an open letter to all the Android manufacturers out there. We know they’re seeing this, and we hope they read, take a cue and learn. Dear OEM, This is the loud voice crying out from the ignorant multitude of your customers. We know you have caught us out so many times with great products we cannot resist. We have fallen prey to the sweetness of your products time without number. On the contrary, we know competition has been hard on you. You’re constantly innovating to bring us better products and more “value for money”. Yes, we agree to all this. But then, there are some things you are not doing. We have noticed, and thought to call your attention to them. You think you are deceiving us and going scot free, but we know those little tricks of yours. First of all, some of you have eternally decided to sticking with 1GB RAM on your phones. We don’t like that. In fact we are not happy. Ever since you started bringing Android phones to Nigeria, almost every phone you have launched carries 1 GB RAM. Even in 2016, the few devices you have launched all carry 1 GB RAM. That’s bad. I know you will argue that the average users doesn’t care about RAM. But I respond by saying that the average user cares about speed. You can further argue that the phone still performs fluidly on 1 GB RAM, but we all know that the experience on 2 GB RAM is far better. Please OEM, you know yourself, please change. We know you actually do it for cost cutting admit this and we’ll forgive you. Our second problem is that many new phones now have fake bezels – this is the space between the glass and the phone’s frame. You claim the phone is bezel-less, but if we look closely there’s a black lining all around the screen. See the phone in Oga Mo’s hands below: Notice the black lining around the phone screen The screen is supposed to extend till the end of the frame, but you can clearly see the black lining around it. This is very noticeable when the screen lights up. Dear OEM, this is a wrong approach biko. Gives us bezels or none at all. These days, it’s so hard to find a decent device with 5-inch screen and good specs. Screens are just getting too big, finding a nice phone with 5 inch screen or lesser (with good specs) is now like Gulder Ultimate Search. People ask for recommendations and I find myself mentioning last year or 2 year old devices. Please OEM, do something about this. Finally Sir/Ma, we have seen some phones with small battery capacity, but with quick charge. This new style kinda confuses us. We have always thought Quick charge was meant for phones with huge batteries – pushing them to charge fast. What would be the need for fast charge on a small battery? We would round up here and we hope that you don’t hold a grudge. Accept it in good faith and possibly surprise us with your next releases. Hoping to see positive responses from you soonest. Yours Faithfully, Elroy MobilityArena.com Source http://mobilityarena.com/weekend-rant-open-letter-android-phone-manufacturers/ Cc: lalasticlala |

Hope, faith, and belief are the one of the many things religion teaches us to keep body and soul in one piece. In our country Nigeria, these three things are the pillars we have relied upon in times of turbulence, with many of us having that conviction that things will definitely get better for the common man. The story of NITEL/Mtel has been a long and sorry one. From great prospects many years ago, the company was badly managed and was eventually swept away into the abyss. Last year, a new company, NATCOM, acquired NITEL/Mtel assets and is set to begin operations under the name, Ntel. Ntel is looking to make a splash with 4G LTE mobile broadband in Nigeria and say they are on the verge of commercial launch. From people’s comments both in real life and in forums online, I see expressions of hope, faith and belief. However, I feel less enthusiastic about this second coming. What new thing exactly will Ntel bring to the table? In what way is Ntel expected to be different from the patterns we have seen with existing service providers in Nigeria over the years? Consider the current situation of things we are facing in this country. There are clear reasons why I think ntel would or could be another disappointment. First, the power situation in this country is abysmal in most parts. I won’t say that this has hindered other mobile/internet network operators from providing their services, but this has eaten deep and fully reflects in the prices and quality of their services. Look at Smile, and Swift – all internet providers. Look at their tariffs. Even Spectranet that people so much patronize because of their cheaper packages recently jacked up their prices. What miracle would ntel do? How can I expect their tariffs to be cheaper? I don’t see that happening. The average man out there is still likely to be unable to afford their services when eventually launched. Instability, unreliability, and inconsistency are major issues that run across network operators in Nigeria. If the past is anything to go by, we are very likely to see a situation where the network starts off with blazing speeds rolling over the top. Then after a while, the speeds drop and degenerate to sh*t (Sorry for my bad English). Many of us already have similar experiences and that might also be the case for ntel. There’s that general sense that ntel is bringing a paradigm shift to liberate us from the internet darkness we are still experiencing in this country. My best advise is not to count our chickens before they are hatched. Cast away that hope or faith you harbor for ntel till they actually do something worth applauding. I watch and wait till it manifests into reality. Till then….. cc: lalasticlala Source http://mobilityarena.com/opinion-dear-nigerians-ntel-will-definitely-not-data-saviour/ |

From the many factors already going against Netflix, we had better ask them to take it back. The likes of DSTV or Iroko TV have no cause to fear or feel threatened. Until a miracle happens – especially with the internet situation in Nigeria, I see Netflix having more ground to cover before becoming mainstream in Nigeria. Do you think Netflix is useless in a place like Nigeria ? Your thoughts. |
That aside, smart TV’s aren’t even popular here yet. We might not have many people with TV’s compatible with streaming, but then, we can even excuse (or rather skip) this by using other device like mobile phones, laptops or tablets to access the service. |
Popular titles like House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, Beasts of No Nation were just copied from people laptops .Worst case scenario, one can easily purchase these movies for less than N200. They know where |
We haven’t even talked of piracy, torrent downloads, and the Alaba-boys menace in the country. I’ve watched lots of Netflix shows/movies without even spending a dime on them. |
Can we even pay for the service? Recently, government of Nigeria placed some international restrictions on Nigerian ATM cards. With this in place, a willing subscriber to the Netflix service will eventually run into difficulties paying for it. What else could fall in favor of this Netflix sef? |
Another issue with Netflix is the lack of local content. Netflix basically it offer content from the Western world. They don’t offer any local entertainment content. Supposing it goes mainstream – unless it’s added later, it would probably further reduce the already dying appeal we have for our local content. |
The very first problem we have in Nigeria is poor internet services. 3G network is abysmal in many parts of the country. 4G network ah! That one is almost non-existent except for the service offered by Smile, in a few locations around the country. Is that what we would be using for the Netflix? Aside speed, there’s also big questions marks in areas of stability and reliability. Remember that the ‘service’ is heavy dependent on fast and reliable internet. The country can’t really boast of that now – so make e rest first. |
Wait first. Before you go dancing shoki in celebratory mode, a closer look at the situation has given us cause for concern. Many questions arise like: Which (affordable, fast & reliable) data plan will we use for this? What happens to our local content? What about the issue of piracy? |
Hurray Netflix is now in Nigeria!! Oh yes! subscribe for just $8 monthly and you have full access to all the movies, TV series and shows you love plus so much more. Many have begged and yearned for this service to be usable for Nigerians. Before now, it had geographical restrictions. One had to go into IP masking and VPN’s to be able to use it. Now the chains are broken, it’s a good reason to be joyous. Netflix-Nigeria-failure |
