master of public health, university of Saskatchewan. my colleague used his uncle and was called for medicals last week monday. we applied same day. u cant decipher these CDHC people.
na God hand e day now.

submitted May 6.haven't heard from them. dropped my wife as people advised me too. dont agree with you about the sponsor thing. seriously brother how many applicant can use their parent. i know guys who used church members and got their visa. every other person i know is using one family friend or d other. i graduated april 2010 so u c there's no way i can sponsor my self

if you try to guess how these guys work u might go crazy. my colleague that applied the same day with me has been asked to go for medicals this week. we have d same start date, august 16, since its d same school and program. so all this talk about June start date or July start date does hold water to me.
differing is not a good option coz my program only resumes for fall meaning i ll have to wait till next yr. i will wait for 2 more weeks and den contact dem.

i will wait till 10weeks before contacting them. if i wait till d 12th week, i will definitely miss my resumption date, orientation and a 2weeks compulsory statistics course i am meant to take before school resumes proper. all this info is in my letter of admission. i hope CDHC is taking note of all these.

this is my 7th week. i think i will wait till its 8 weeks before emailing them coz in their site they posted 12 weeks for processing study permits in Nigeria.

u will notice dat we r 2nd to SA in number of weeks, how sad. i will wait for two more weeks den pay dem a vist or somtin

cuddlemii u sharp die. i didnt submit a birth cert to coz i name on it is a bit different from whats on my passport and u have to be Ibo to know that they mean d same. i wasnt scared coz i donr expect CDHC to deny me coz of dat when i have a letter from my LG and int. passport showing all that.

exactly 4 weeks now. has anyone been called for medicals?

the cheapest flight as at now is Emirates. about N189,000 for one way ticket. if u know any cheaper one pls let us know too

chest x-ray for TB, hepatitis B and C virus, HIV, urine test (for kidney problems i guess) and physical examination

but on a more serious note who has an idea of the real cost of leaving in Saskatoon (accommodation, transportation and feeding, others, )

the school is saying $13-$17k per year but Canadian website is saying $10k per year. i think this is d best time to start planning that coz u will not have d time if u wait for ur visa b4 u start planning

10th day post-application. cant do much but pray and hope. i gave it all my best too. with months of calculation and meditation.

yes i filled both form on my pc trust me its neater and though i have an ugly writing.
u can save the study permit form while filling it and continue later or print from a flash drive but u cant save the family composition form . u have to print it from the computer u filled it on. the questioner and checklist are hand-filled

i was the one that brought up these whole form thing coz i didnt wont any of you to waste your courier money like i did . just follow what omosanyaolak said but if u cant den visit CDHC urslef

dowload your forms from http://www.nigeria.gc.ca/ except the family info form, get that one from http://www.cic.gc.ca/

u dont need dat schedule 1 form. u need 4 forms. checklist, questioner, application for study permit and family info form.
use d forms in d nigeria site except d family info form

r u saying i should fill her maiden name on the forms since dats what is in her passport.

we have the marriage cert and change of name document. but i noticed that in the application forms dey usually say u should fill the family name as it appears in the passport. so which should i fill. and what name will dey issue d visa with?

please house i need an urgent info on these.

my wifes passport is just 5 months old. now that we r married her name has changed to mine. I WANT TO KNOW IF HER PASSPORT IS STILL VALID FOR VISA APPLICATION TO ANY OF THESE EMBASSY Canada or UK as its still has a maiden name.

i went to the passport office in VI and their demand for a new passport was killing( she has to go to abuja)

i put my photographs inside my passport but when dey returned my unprocessed application dey had stapled it to d lower left border of d 1st page of my form. just put it where dey will c it else dey might declare it absent.


am a bit disappointed about services at the CDHC. now i appreciate VAC for uk visas. those guys r d bomb jo

fill the family information form on the general Canadian site not the Nigerian site IMM5645

guys be careful about your forms so that you do not waste your courier envelope. my application was returned unprocessed coz i used d family information form on d canadian website for nigeria. dey said it was outdated

thanks guys. now lets get real. its one thing to create an impression on the visa officer that u have money and the reality is another.

please i need to know the actual cost of living in Saskatoon. how much does it cost to get a room apartment per month. how much will it cost to feed myself and my wife per month. the Canadian website says $10,000 for one person and an extra $4,000 for each family member while the breakdown sent by the school quoted a higher amount for all these. how about transportation, medical insurance, any other unforeseen expenses. please what do u think

yes am a medical doctor. and trust me my letter will bambooz the officer with all the medical jargon. i was involved with  a lot of extracurricular public health issues during my undergraduate studies and i have certificates for that. i included details of that in my application and letter.

as per the story about my cousin sponsoring me, what else other than his family, we grew up in the same household. he sponsored me for a 4 wks elective program at the  Newcastle University, UK about 3yrs ago. i also have a 2yrs uk visiting visa in my passport to show them that i am not an "i need to run away to developed counties" wanna be. but do they really look at travel history
