freeman67: Its like some pple have decided to tie themselves to one bank. Personally I open account with any bank that align with my interest. Even back then when do term deposit I could open just because a bank rate is like 1 or 2% higher... I already have accounts in both GT, Stanbic and FBN before I started TB. I had the requirement to open when I did and it was @ no cost for..
Except you request to invest in Primary Auction it not Secondary doesn't take more than a day or two depending your discussion with the bank. I f you have accounts with different banks so long as it isn't for fraud no issue. You can contact all your banks to see who has what and you make choice quietly then transfer your funds there if need be instead of allowing yourself to be boxed into a corner by a particular bank. honestly this is what I am passing through for the past 2 weeks with first bank. Since I read up about treasury bills here 2 weeks ago and went to the bank to fill up the form asking them to debit me,it's been one story or the other calling me and begging me to be patient. Yesterday's call was if I can be patient enough to wait for primary market auction next week whereas I clearly filled secondary market.i am really tired of head office this and that. My account with stanbic is dormant,I dint want to go through stress of re - opening it that's why I have been patient.i have given them till 12 noon today and I will make my decision. |

Investnow2017: @Deepwater, i still believe if you go to First Bank early on Monday you might still get 345days tenor at 18.3%pa.
As you are paid your interest upfront, note that unless you choose to break it, your principal invested will only be paid back to your account on the 344th day. Now you have to decide if you can afford to leave your money with FGN for that long! Of all safe short term investments Treasury Bills at current rates are just impressive and they suit my kind of person. And if you are fortunate to put in substantial sum, you can quickly benefit from returns on reinvested interest received upfront. It plays well with those with deep pocket.
Let us know how it went on Monday after yr auspicious visit to First Bank. Dont expect yr account officer to be happy with you though Went to First bank today and I was told it was around 17% p.a. For 365 days secondary market.Though they said the close of work today will determine as I might be debited tomorrow.I was expecting 18% but I filled the form all thesame. I was also told they were not sure there will be bidding as they haven't recieved their quota or whatever. |

Please is the 18.3%p.a for primary or secondary market and how many days before my interest will be paid upfront after being debited.Lastly,I have been hearing no risk involved atall so meaning at the 344th day,my initial debit will be returned to my account right? |

Go to First Bank on Monday, ask for a Personnel incharge of Treasury Bills/Bond investment, ignore your account officer. Tell the person you want to invest in Treasury Bills. Ask for Tenors and Rates available. They may likely inquire of how much you want to invest. Thanks.will do that on Monday. |

RealityShot: use stanbic IBTC or First Bank. go for 364 days tenor to get at least 18% interest at the next auction after you apply.
200k should fetch you about 36k yearly at current rates and its a good start! some started with 100k only. ride on! Nice one |

Please I just need to be cleared on something.i read where someone said that if one invest 200 at 18% for 364 days that the person will get about 36k profit. Please does it mean if someone invest like 2.6million for 364 days at 18%,he or she is likely to get 468k per year?. Please I need someone to clarify this for me. |

Toks2008: Madam chizzy please read this very carefully and before I go on it is pertinent to know this is coming from a 41year old who have seen shits happen in life.
There is what we call mid life crises in the life of men and your sis husband is going through that at the moment and I'm also going through mine but trust me,only a man with the holy spirit and love for christ and lots of self control can maintain a good moral standing at that stage in life.
The mid life crises of a lady starts at 20 to 35 and that of man is a bit longer from age 30 to 50. At this stage most people will feel like exploring their sexuality to the max but tend to calm down latter in life and turn out to be very faithful to our partners.
I was expecting to read about the way he beats your sis or denies her the required stuffs but you made it clear that he takes care of her...
Chizzy. marriage is more complicated than you can ever imagine and I will advice your sis to remain in her marriage and build her home rather than leave cos there is no guaranty she will end up with a faithful guy cos 8 out of every 10 men will cheat on their wives and those 2 who don't cheat will struggle to be faithful in essence..only a spirit filled or highly principled man will remain faithful to his wife...furthermore,she is not new to his philandering act even long before they got marriage which makes me wonder why you are holding brief for her.
You may not understand the dynamics of marriage until you go into it for at least 5years and you will look back st this thread and ask yourself if it was necessary ..
I have created countless threads on this matter and It still baffles me how cluelessly many ladies run out of their marriage over inconsequential matters just to end up more miserable...marriage is not a walk in the park. https://www.nairaland.com/2618513/before-divorce-adulterous-hubby
The only unfortunate twist is the carelessness of the guy in not using protection but then your sister can insist on protected sex at least to safeguard herself but leaving her marriage should be the last resort except the guy becomes violent....no marriage is perfect.
My take Noted. You sound matured. I have really gotten alot of mature comments here.i appreciate guys. For the ones that chose to insult me rather than just advice and leave like the matured ones did, well,I will pass cos like someone commented earlier,no one ever gets choked from swallowing their pride. I also got something else from you guys "when someone show you who they are the first time, believe them." |

Peacefulpeace: She is courageous. It's not easy sacrificing yourself for a cheating spouse.
My eldest sister resigned from Kaduna to join her hubby in Lag and she is so messed up right now. All she saved, the hubby took from her with one excuse or the other. He doesn't spend time with her, all that is between them is food and sex (which she always have to beg for once in two - three weeks.)
Hers is so bad. He gives irrelevant excuses for not coming home coz he's a telecom engineer. Going through his texts, she discovered he has countless ladies whom he met on dating apps like badoo and had cheated on her two days after their wedding (the marriage will be a year in May).
Right now, she's processing a job in Abuja so that she can flee from the marriage. I have learnt to prioritise my job over all things. In as much as I love my husband, my job comes first. Losing it is like losing all. My sister case is so terrible that I now send her money for upkeep. This is someone who saw two of our siblings through University and didn't marry till she's in her very late twenties when the pressure on her from home was much. hmm |

naijaGhandi: I have read a lot of comments here and i wonder why we are this rude all in the name of giving her advice.
The insult directed to the op and her sister is unfair. We have to understand eachother's differences. She already mentioned that she will show her sister the comments in this thread, some of you have very good advice but you shouldn't expect it to be a rubber stamp. Give them time to read it all then come to a conclusion.
Many people claiming your sister was foolish to have married the man, don't understand the complexities of marriage.
You can marry a decent man and after wedding he begins to flirt due to reasons that no one can explain.
First and foremost, i think your sister needs to take care of her heart, high b.p is a silent killer, she should accept her fate and put all her trust in GOD to change the man for good.
Secondly, she can involve herself in online businesses that will also give her time to take care of her kid...many american nursing mothers use this strategy.
If she gets involved in the right online biz, she can get close to 6m profit within 6 months...i hope that will be enough to start her boutique biz.
Love conquers all, let her concentrate on her family, develop herself, in whatever way possible. Most.of these old rich men you see today were once like your sister's husband, with time, challenges will make him sit up, but before then let her do all she can not to worry herself over his flirty lifestyle.
Love is crazy, a stupid part of her still loves him,let her not let go because there's no perfect man anywhere. Thanks. Please is the online biz you are talking about forex?. |

chronique: I agree with you. I think she and her sister aren't ready to think out of the box yet. That's why she's giving excuses. I don't know why anybody who wants to run a successful business in this recession, would be thinking of going to open a boutique(a biz that deals with wants), when she can successfully run a fmcg biz(that deal with daily needs). A lot of people fail in business cos they don't do feasibility studies... It isn't just enough for a person to be a graduate. You must be innovative and think what others aren't thinking. But most women like to get involved with the lazy man kind of business idea and that's what makes them fail. When the economy was good, by now most of my clients would have been thinking of changing cars for their spouses but hey, that isn't the case now as people are beginning to manage a lot. Yes, people need clothes but trust me, it won't be an immediate need to them as such. With the 3.5m(her 2m and sister's 1.5m),she can comfortably start a business that deals with fmcg (soap, foods, food stuffs, etc). Children must eat, babies must change diapers, people must wash clothes, etc. Items that people consume on a daily basis, are things she should venture in, that can bring steady turnover. Not some lousy boutique business.
It's unfortunate she married a dog who can't keep his sick in one place. My younger sister was almost married to her fiance last year and the moment she started talking about his cheating tendency, I lost interest in the relationship and when she broke up with the dude(after introduction) and my parents were trying to talk me into making efforts to get them back, I vehemently refused. If a full grown adult cannot use his head in a relationship, the person should better stay single. It's one thing to make a mistake, and it's another thing to continually be irresponsible. I take the issue of infidelity in marriage/relationship, very personal. You made a valid point.Thanks. |

musabayokanu: My dear since you have saved far more than 1.5m and you are still single. You can provide the needed capital, accommodate your sister in ur house, bring ur money and her 1.5m they set up a business and let your sister manage it, with that she will properly take care of her self and her child as she walk away from her marriage.
Is unforgettable that instead of seeing what u can do no matter how difficult it might seem, u are bent on advising her to divorce, and after divorce you don't have plans to even support her financially.
My advice is with all the plenty money u have as a single lady, u can use it to set up ur sister if u want her to leave her man. But if you feel u can't cater for her life after marriage leave her and always encourage her to pray for the man, I have seen chronic cheats change so her won't be an exception. Giving out money has never been an issue but sustaining it a big issue.Even if I give her extra 2m and she invests, how will she sustain the biz for the next few years without external income and also sustain her life and the baby..If you know the core values of business, you will understand me.So,please think properly and deeply before you respond. |

LynnPetra: I will advice you to desist from responding to idio.tsss. Many here like to blame the victim than the offender. Imagine them fools asking a nursing mother to go get a job.I can tell you with all facts down on my table THAT MANY HOMES IN NIGERIA NOW ARE BEING HELD TOGETHER BY WIVES especially those with handwork !!!This recession presently just exposed a lot about how docile several male youths have become.
Your sisters husband is a serial cheat, the issue here ain't about your sister's joblessness or not,but as usual idioots from the pit of hades want to blame your sister for being a nursing mother without a job.Foolish comments here just want to make me puke!!
My advice is your sister to separate for now and call a family meeting. From your write up, it's obvious the husband is a careless cheat, he masters in getting every lady pregnant. Sorry to say,he is just a useless person. If I marry such a man(God forbid ),my prayer will be for him to die early enough for me to remarry again since my doctrine don't accept divorce.
Take heart! You totally understood my write up.Thanks As for people asking me to give her some of my money, even if I give her 2m to add to her 1.5, it still won't do because after setting up a business you still need to fund it with your reserve for about 2 to 3 more years before it stands firm. Many people are just commenting without even thinking. |

blackboy: Do you want your nephew to know his daddy from a distance? Do you want your sister to jump when she has not been pushed? Leaving the house will justify him bringing in someone else.If they go to church let them go for marriage counselling. I'm not saying she should report him to the church. But she needs to let him know their marriage needs God or the devil will separate them.A marriage is about 2 ppl. Your sister needs to confront her husband in a loving and wise way and they need to talk If their talk don't change nothing let her get a third party involved. My advise don't let her run off The worst is if she confronts him now,he will kneel down, beg ,cry as if he means it but at the end he will continue.thats the kind of guy he is.My sister said that was what he did during courtship but she forgave him because she dint have proof. My sister is older than me.what I intend to do is show her this page later on so that she can read people's responses. She had better suitor then coming for her then but she settled for the cheat because she believed they've come a long way.Such is life. |

Nancy2016: She needs to get a job and not wait for her husband to fund a business venture for her. He most likely wants her to be dependent on him so it's time she puts on her big girl pants and start thinking about her financial future. What if, God forbid, her lost husband lost his job, how will they sustain the family? Your sister is educated, she should put that to use instead of waiting for manna to fall from heaven. SirVintageCock: so what do you want? These shows that you and your sister can plunge in headon into a problem just to maintain an unhappy lifestyle. She resigned, married and followed her horseband because he is a money bag even quite aware of his cheating tendencies because he satisfy her every need. Dear, you have totally missed the point here.the man said the reason he married my sis was because they started dating when he dint have even one car.family wise we are richer but he has made money for himself now.My sister dated him for 9 years.she dint have proof of his cheating then.So you see,she dint plunge in Headon into problem, she just married the wrong guy.
