dell_net: objective-c is a superset of C if you know C you can do it. I just started it 2 weeks ago. The core of the application is to use network framework to do http transactions with a webserver. This include login to the server and respond to events based on http status code. I have covered much of the login and response part now what is left is to scrape the data that is returned from the server and put it into a meaningful interface pretty much just string manipulation and add it to the interface. do you have ym? i wont lie to you this is sounding like a bit much. as far as string manipulation which is the only part i am familiar with, hmmm i know a bit about concatenation, as well as getting characters from strings and ignoring the rest. but im honestly about to sleep. its 5:39 am here and im still in the computer lab, ive not slept. really sorry. fstranger3: ^^^
About time you two got a room im too tired to write a witty response. |

dell_net: are you the type of "traditional native person" or "stiletto glamorous" type of person both. thats the serious answer. there are times when its good to wear trad and times when you should be stiletto glam. i like to do "trad glam". lol. ko easy but i try. |

dell_net: I think you should go coz you are young and humorous and as you said that is the next thing to do in the protocol of Nigerian qualification. But there is nothing fun in Nigeria anymore, the clubs are whacked, you only socialize within people you know, the whole country is "tout-ish" and rude I don't enjoy it anymore. hmmm, thats unfortunate. ill be the first to say that long stays in nigeria can be not so fun. but i do enjoy when i am there. sorry you feel that way. |

dell_net: hey snowbunny or whatever your name is. if the 1st 3 reasons of your intent to go for NYSC is as accurate as posting #44 then think again. It is actually a military drill if the laws are followed, all corps are to stay in military barracks and you go out to serve the community from there if it warrants. This is just like a boot camp but in the name of serving the nation. So you are that much of a fool that you couldnt read "choco" instead of "snow"?? Illiterate. Or was that your pathetic attempt to be funny. Try again dear. I didnt say those were my "first" reasons, there are several reasons, and the first 3 that poster named are all a part of it. And WOW THAT WAS SO ENLIGHTENING! THANK YOU FOR TELLING ME THAT. (sarcasm in case you didnt catch) and now ill ignore your future posts. And for your information, I know what it is like to stay in a military camp and actually do grueling work, and I highly doubt it would be as tough as what I have done ALREADY. Thank you everyone else! |

Boredom Change of lifestyle, testing the grounds for future relocation Gap year option Older member of the family will tell you 'in case you get government job bla', I always wonder why they think everyone wants a government appointment in the future
Cheap Labour Delay tactics by the inefficient govt Work experience it had a specific purpose when it was established Your 1st three reasons are pretty accurate. "Change of lifestyle" especially. And seriously, it wouldnt hurt AT ALL to find a husband, the yoruba guys here in the U.S are very unfortunate human beings. dayokanu: She might want to know how Naija youths are sexually. |

martinosi: Just kind of curious why you want to do NYSC,
I believe your talents and Intellectual Acumen can be channeled better in Nigeria througha different route instead of NYSC,
What i am trying to state is that when going to help/assist of serve nigeria, you better be in a financial position to do it!!!
Have you ever lived in Nigeria before ?
I strongly suggest that you find/locate a fellow Nigerian Born and raised in America like yourself and enquire wisely about this decision that you desire to take. I am not trying to discourage you, just think it through. The decision you are about to make is no stroll through der park,
And what does your parents think of this move. ? pss: Your passion to participate in NYSC is very impressive. I'm delighted to understand that you appreciate your culture and want to connet to your root. Brilliant! Wow many comments. The answer is simple, I may relocate to Nigeria. I've not met the man i will marry as yet, but in the event he wants to go home, i am willing to go with him. Even if he does not want to move home, I plan on being a professor in the U.S., and I will have summers off to spend in Nigeria as I please. Long story short, you never know what will happen. I would just like to have it done "just in case." I didn't tell my parents yet, but I know my Dad at least would approve. I have spent time without my parents in Nigeria so they know I can survive on my own. I actually prefer my stays in Nigeria when they are not around. As for "financial position" I will be fine. |

Fellow Nairalanders: How do you go about applying for NYSC if you are a Nigerian who was born, raised, and completed all schooling and university in the U.S, as well as if you are already holding a Nigerian Passport? No formal application for citizenship was ever made though. I've gone through several posts and most of the people who had questions were either born and did some school in Nigeria before going abroad, or were not Nigerians at all. So, does this make you eligible for NYSC? BOTH parents were born and raised in Nigeria. Do you have to formerly apply for naturalization? Or do you just have to apply for citizenship first? Please be specific! The website for NYSC also makes mention of foreign trained graduates not being able to apply after February of 2011, what is that about? |
