FamilyDiscover What's Making Your Security Weak... by CHOGON11(op): 9:37am On May 30, 2015
Event Security is a hot-button issue for everyone these days. The first family, the royal family, heck, even your own family has no doubt been touched by security concerns at home, school, work or on the road. Event marketers are no exception. From red carpet affairs to county fairs, trade shows to fashion shows, having the proper security measures in place can ease the minds of attendees, exhibitors, speakers and celebrity guests, and even reduce insurance costs.
“Having event security sends guests the message that not only do you have their safety in mind, it tells them that the event is important enough to have security on hand,” says David Stone, ceo and founder of Stone Security Services, a former New York City detective and security expert whose company secures more than 500 events each year in Los Angeles, Miami and the Big Apple with event security agents, bodyguards and personal protection specialists. “This can be a great way to boost the prestige level of your event and to show others that you take event planning seriously enough to cover all contingencies.”
Event security is the one thing that planners and production companies tend to spend the least on, however. “But it is one of the most important things about your event,” Stone says. “The world security climate for the U. S. has changed. It’s unfortunate, but this is the time we live in.”
Here, Stone offers his top eight tips for event security in the modern world.
1. Enlist Expert Advice
Hire experts who know how to cope with large numbers of people and handle any situation or threat with a professional response that does not cause a scene. Ask for references and make sure they are properly insured. Many individuals state they have an event security company but don’t have insurance or experience.
2. Assess Your Event
Before requesting the number of event security guards you think you need, let the security expert assess your event based on capacity, attendees, venue and nature of your event to determine whether it is “high” or “low” profile experience.
“The organizer may describe the event as a product launch, but it could be for a sensitive product that may not be liked by certain people or groups. The same for charity events and fundraisers with corporate ceos and wealthy people in attendance,” Stone says. “Someone with a grudge against the company or the executive could try to come in and protest, disrupt or do harm.”
3. Prepare for Protest
Always be clear with the event security expert if the client sponsoring the event may draw hatred or negative feedback toward their mission. People may launch an attack against a company they feel discriminates against its workers, doesn’t pay them enough, mismanaged their retirement portfolios or any other reason they feel is justified.
Have the event security experts liaise with the local police department and let them know who and what is happening.
4. Screen Guests and Staff
Make sure all guests are properly screened and checked in with proper credentials. “Are you trying to prevent party crashers from sneaking in and having a few shrimp or bashing for a free beer, or are you trying to prevent a more serious disruption?” says Stone. The event security staff will familiarize themselves with the guest list and turn away those who have not been formally invited.
Additionally, have your event security partner screen all vendors and their employees supplying services, to see if they are biased towards the event.
5. Skip the Surprise Searches
Invitations should disclose that “all persons and property are subject to search” and proper ID is required. That way there will be no surprises at the door. Some events are no-cell phone zones. “We take their cell phones away so they can’t photograph what is going on, or post it to a social media site,” Stone says. “We check them with a coat-check ticket and they get it back on their way out.”
6. Budget for Safety
In today’s world climate of terrorism, for high-profile events save your money on the shrimp and lobster and direct it towards event security, walk-through metal detectors, K-9 sweeps and more. “If you shop by price, you will get your unwanted guests and sleeping guards,” Stone says. “Budget is very important. People need to know what they are getting themselves into and what the scope of their event is.”
A red-carpet affair with top-level security normally requires “platinum” level event security from a top-level provider with mostly off-duty police officers on hand. A middle-level package involves licensed security guards, perhaps someone who works as a janitor during the day and moonlights as a security guard by night. The lowest level provides fire guards, which are required by law and varies from state-to-state.
7. Have Medical Support
For large capacity events always have an emergency medical crew onsite for first response and to handle the unexpected food allergy, medical condition, heart attack or slip and fall head injury.
8. Create Clear Credentials
Always make sure that staff is clearly identified as staff, and not guests, with clear description of credentials.

HealthBe Cleanliness Conscious, Get The Tips Here. by CHOGON11(op): 12:12pm On May 26, 2015
10 Things You Should Clean--But Don't
You touch it. Other people touch it. But do you ever clean it?
We're talking about everyday items that most people never think to swab down, such as credit cards, ceiling fans and toilet paper holders.
The Huffington Post's StyleList assembled a list of the top 10 most dirty, dusty and germy places in your home and how to clean them. Print this out! It's your weekend to-do list.
1. Credit/Debit Cards
You're not the only one handling your credit and debit cards. Other people touch them, too--and who knows when they last washed their hands or what they touched five minutes ago. Even if you only swipe your card and never hand it over, what is lurking inside that card-swipe machine or ATM? Grab some disinfectant wipes and take a minute or two to clean your credit cards. Do let them dry completely before returning them to your wallet.
2. Electronics
Your electronics--from your cell phone to your e-reader--are coated in germs and the level of contamination is horrible. Some studies show cell phones contain 18 times more germs than toilet handles. Swab them down with disinfectant wipes.
3. Toothbrush Holders
Want to see something gross? Take your toothbrush out of the holder and peer inside. Do you see mold? Discoloration? Grime? That could end up in your mouth! Pour a solution of one part bleach and three parts water into the toothbrush holder and let it soak for an hour. Rinse and dry upside down on a dish rack.
4. The Bottom of Throw Rugs
This is easy and fast to do and will help keep your wood floors cleaner for a longer time. When vacuuming, turn over the throw rugs and vacuum the underside.
5. The Top of Large Appliances
They're too tall for you to see it with a step stool, but the top of your refrigerator, stove vents and other big appliances are dusty and grimy on top. Wipe down the surfaces with white vinegar and rinse with a water-lemon mixture. Dry it with a clean cloth. If you can move them, do the same thing with the bottom of the appliances.
6. Ceiling Fans
Pull out a ladder and look at the top of your ceiling fans. Chances are, there is a thick layer of dust on them, which could contain residue particles that resemble mold on ripe fruit. Turn on the fan, and those particles are dispersed throughout the room. To clean the top of the ceiling fan, put two tablespoons of white vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Spritz the solution into an old pillowcase. Insert the pillowcase around the fan blade and drag the bag along the bag's surface. This will collect and clean the dust. Use a clean cloth to clean up anything that remains on the blades.
7. Toilet Roll Holders
When you flush the commode, water inside the toilet bowl is sprayed around the area--including the toilet roll holder. Disinfect it once a month with a sanitizing wipe or clean it with a bleach and water solution.
8. Box Springs
Ever look underneath your bed? Chances are the box spring is covered in dust. It's easy to clean with a vacuum hose.
9. Light Switches
Bacteria is easily and quickly transferred from person to person in your home just by touching the light switches. Spray rubbing alcohol or an all-purpose cleaner into a clean cloth and wipe the switch and plate until they are clean and grease-free.
10. Salt and Pepper Shakers
When the salt and pepper shakers are empty, clean them in the dishwasher before refilling them. These common household items are known to contain the highest concentrations of germs that cause cold and flu viruses. Between washings, use disinfectant wipes to sanitize the outside surface.

CHOGON SAFETY TIPS
9 Ways to Keep a Home Safe from Criminals
Whether you are a homeowner or a renter, it is always a good idea to practice home safety tips. Recent study shows that a lot of crimes are being committed in people's residences- burglaries, armed robberies, and home invasions to name a few. Here are various ways to keep your home safe

Home Safety Tips # 1: Security Alarm System:
Consider investing in an alarm system for your home. You can contact Chogons for advice on how to get that. Make sure that the alarm system has a panic button feature that you can easily use.

Home Safety Tips # 2: Deadbolts:
Your home should have deadbolts with full one-each bolts on all entry doors. These should be installed in addition to existing locksets. For doors with glass panels within three feet of the lock, it should have a double-cylinder deadbolt requiring a key on both sides; this way a burglar cannot simply break the glass and reach through to unlock the door. If your door has conventional glass panels, consider replacing them with shatterproof glass or polycarbonate material.

Home Safety Tips # 3: Re-Key Locks:
If you have just moved to a new house or apartment, have all the locks re-keyed immediately. Better yet accomplish this before you move in.

Home Safety Tips # 4: Limit Number of Keys:
Limit the keys only to members of the family that live with you. If you must share a key with a relative, especially when you are going on vacation and you need a house sitter- make sure that the person is trustworthy. Make sure that they return your key right away. If you have a hired help, for example a babysitter or a cleaning lady, and you ended up firing that person for whatever reason; make sure to change the locks immediately, even if you get your keys back.

Home Safety Tips # 5: Designate a Safe Room and an Escape Route:
Install a deadbolt lock on the door of your home office or den, so that it becomes your "safe or panic" room that you can lock yourself into if you are threatened. Plan an escape route from the upper floor by adding a rope ladder in a room upstairs.

Home Safety Tips # 6: Lighting:
Make sure that your main entrances, porches, driveways, and front walkways are well-lit. Turn on interior lights when you are away in the evenings.

Home Safety Tips # 7: Where's the Key?
Don't hide your house keys under doormats, inside your mailbox, or planters. These are obvious places that criminals would look for keys. Also, never put a name in your address and name on your key chain, it would be easy for criminals to find where you live and have access to your home and car.

Home Safety Tips # 8: Garage Doors:
Keep your garage doors closed and lock them at night. Make sure your garage windows are all closed and locked; it is hard to hear someone in your garage door because you may be inside watching TV not noticing the criminal activities happening inside your garage. Also, garages have ladders and other tools that can help criminals gain access to the main part of your home; so keeping your garage secured at all times will not entice the criminals to target your home.

Home Safety Tips # 9: Have Your Home Analyzed for Security:
For a detailed security analysis of your home, contact a bonded professional like Chogons Guards and Safety Ltd. Finally, you can ask for help or advice from your local police department; call them immediately of you see, hear, or have a good reason to suspect that a crime is being committed.

FamilySAFE MOOD: Tips On How To Keep Yourself And Your Household Safe Always. by CHOGON11(op): 4:57pm On May 25, 2015
General Safety Tips & Safety Guidelines
GENERAL SAFETY TIPS
• Safety glasses with side shields must be worn at all times.
• Do not wear loose clothing, loose neckwear or exposed jewelry while operating machinery.
• Do not work alone in the Student shop. (Implement the "buddy" system if possible)
• Pull back and secure long hair. (Use hair net or ball cap)
• Do not wear thin fabric shoes, sandals, open-toed shoes, and high-heeled shoes.
• A machinist's apron tied in a quick release manner should be worn.
• Always keep hands and other body parts a safe distance away from moving machine parts, work pieces, and cutters.
• Use hand tools for their designed purposes only.
• Report defective machinery, equipment or hand tools to supervisor.
SAFETY GUIDELINES:
1. Be sure that all machines have effective and properly working guards and covers, and that they are always in place when machines are operating.
2. Replace guards immediately after any repairs.
3. Do not attempt to oil, clean, adjust, or repair any machine while it is running. Stop the machine and lock the power switch in the "OFF" position.
4. Do not operate any machine unless authorized to do so by the instructor or under the instructor's supervision.
5. Do not set up or operate machinery when an instructor is not in the shop.
6. Even after the power is off, do not leave the machine until it has stopped running. Someone else may not notice that it is still in motion and be injured. Do not leave a machine until it has come to a complete stop.
7. Do not try to stop the machine with your hands or body.
8. Check tools before use to assure they are safe to use.
9. Always see that work and cutting tools on any machine are clamped securely before starting to work.
10. All setscrews should be of the flush or recessed type. If they are not, move with caution when near them. Projecting setscrews are very dangerous because they may catch on sleeves or clothing.
11. Only one person should operate the machine or switches.
12. Do not lean against the machine (s).
13. Concentrate on the work and do not talk unnecessarily while operating the machine.
14. Do not talk to others when they are operating a machine. A distraction may lead to an injury.
15. Do not walk behind people operating a machine; you may bump them by accident or startle them and cause an accident.
16. Always remove gloves before turning on or operating any machine. If material is rough or sharp and gloves must be worn, place or handle material with the machine turned off.
17. Do not leave tools or work on the table of a machine even if the machine is not running. Tools or work may fall off and cause toe or foot injury.
18. Use a brush to remove short, discontinuous types of chips--not hands, fingers, or rags.
19. Use a pair of pliers to remove chips, especially the long, stringy type.
20. Never handle chips with your hands or fingers. Chips are extremely sharp and can easily cause cuts.
21. Never use compressed air to clean any machine. <
22. Never use compressed air to clean your clothes or yourself. If using compressed air to clean a part, point the air hose down and away from yourself and other persons. Never wear gloves or use rags to clean the work piece or any part of a machine that is running. Rotating tools or parts can grab gloves and rags and pull you into the machine.
23. Stop the machine tool to make speed and feed changes that require the shifting of a gear lever.
24. Always use correct speeds and feeds. A broken tool becomes a hazard and can cause great personal injury.

HealthEradication/elimination Of Unwelcomed Pests And Rodents In Your Environment# by CHOGON11(op): 4:49pm On May 25, 2015
PEST CONTROL TIPS
Every home-dweller has to eventually contend with pests such as insects, raccoons, and rodents. But don't fret: There are time-proven ways to deter and eradicate these little beasts. We've collected some here:
Insects
• Keep ants away from your home with a concoction of borax and sugar. Mix 1 cup sugar and 1 cup borax in a quart jar. Punch holes in the jar's lid, and sprinkle the mixture outdoors around the foundation of your home and around the baseboards inside your house. The ants are attracted by the sugar and poisoned by the borax.
• If you have cockroaches, sprinkle borax powder in the kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Avoid sprinkling where children and pets could be affected.
• If there's a hornet, wasp, bee or other flying insect in your house and you have no insect spray, kill it with hair spray.
• If your home becomes infested with fleas, vacuum rugs thoroughly before spraying, and throw the dust bag out at once.
• Change the water in a birdbath every 3 days to help reduce the mosquito population.
• The presence of carpenter ants indicates another problem. Because they're fond of damp wood, you should check your pipes, roof and windowsills for water leaks.
• Centipedes prey on other bugs, so the presence of centipedes in your house may indicate the presence of other insects as well.
• You can distinguish termite damage from other insect damage by examining any holes you find in wood. Termites usually eat only the soft part of wood, leaving the annual rings intact.
• If you live in a multiunit building, any pest control measures you take individually will be ineffective in the long run simply because insects can travel form one apartment to another. To eliminate bugs completely, the entire building should be treated at one time.
Raccoons and Rodents
• Raw bacon or peanut butter makes good bait for a mousetrap. Make sure a mouse will have to tug the trap to remove the bait. If you're using peanut butter, dab some on the triggering device and let it harden before setting the trap. If bacon is your bait, tie it around the triggering device.
• If a raccoon sets up housekeeping in your attic or chimney, chemical repellents such as oil of mustard -- are temporarily effective. (The smell may bother you as much as it does the raccoon.) Your best bet is to let the animal leave, and then cover its entrance hole with wire mesh so that it cannot return.
• To keep rodents out of your house, seal every opening they could squeeze through. Some need less than 1/4 inch of space. Put poison in deep cracks or holes, and stuff them with steel wool or scouring pads pushed in with a screwdriver. Close the spaces with sparkling compound mixed with steel wool fragments.

CLEANING TIPS

Living Room Cleaning Tips
The key to a clean home is cleaning it consistently. At Chogon Cleaning Services, we follow a house cleaning routine that ensures that all of your spaces are as clean as possible. For your personal cleaning needs, we suggest following this simple house cleaning schedule:
• Daily: On a daily basis, collect any toys, mail, etc. that has accumulated over the course of the day and put them in a pile in the middle of the room. One by one, put them where they belong.
• Weekly: On one day per week, dust around the room - working left to right and top to bottom. From there, you can move on to cleaning your coffee table and other surfaces. After dusting, it is also a good time to vacuum your furniture, removing and rotating sofa cushions to encourage even wear and increase their useful life.
• Monthly: Move your furniture and vacuum beneath it. Wash your windows as well (weather permitting, i.e. above 50 degrees). You should also clean your furniture as necessary.
• Yearly: On a yearly basis, you should evaluate your living room, taking care to de-clutter and dusting anything that is hard to reach (i.e. ceiling fan) using a ladder as necessary. This is also a good opportunity to clean your fireplace if you have one.

How Do I Remove Streaks from Stainless Steel Appliances?
You've worked hard to make sure your stainless steel appliances are clean and sanitary—so of course you want that work to show!
First identify the grain of the stainless steel and always work in the same direction as the grain. Then using a clean, cotton cloth and some glass cleaner (or specialty stainless steel cleaner), buff potential streaky finishes until they shine. Keep your eyes peeled at all times for water spots and potential streak problems.
One quick tip for a stubborn microwave is to place a cup of water in the machine and boil it for a few minutes. This loosens up debris and grime in the microwave for easy cleaning.
After you've scrubbed the microwave, fridge, dishwasher and stove clean, drain your sink, spray in some all-purpose cleaner and use a brush to thoroughly remove any trace of your cleaning solution. Finish cleaning your kitchen by sweeping or vacuuming the floor, then mop it.
Ripening fruit, dirty dishes and sticky counters are usually what attract fruit flies. If your clean kitchen is still attracting flies, try running your garbage disposal on a regular basis or trap the fruit flies with an apple cider vinegar solution.
Kitchen Cleaning Schedule
Maintain a clean kitchen by creating a consistent schedule. Use the following timetable to keep the kitchen tidy:
Daily: Every day wipe surfaces, do dishes, put dishes away and sweep the floor.
Weekly: On a weekly basis, the daily tasks should be combined with a mopping of the kitchen floor. This is when you should also tackle the more involved dishwashing tasks, such as cleaning foggy wine glasses and polishing stained silver.
Monthly: You should ensure that all cabinets, pantries and your refrigerator are cleared of unnecessary or outdated food and miscellaneous items that are no longer needed, maintaining the order of your cold- and room-temperature storage areas.
Yearly: Once per year (at least) you should deep clean your kitchen space. This means that your cleaning should reach to the back of every cabinet and pantry, extend to a dismantled refrigerator interior (for separate washing of each surface), reach under that refrigerator and stove, and get to the ceiling, light fixtures, etc. Basically, this yearly cleaning should be as deep as possible. This form of maintenance is especially important for this space, where perishable food items are handled every day.
Now it's time to congratulate yourself on a job well done! Enjoy your new kitchen with a home-cooked meal.
Bathroom Cleaning Schedule
No matter which rooms are included as part of your Chogon cleaning service, our goal is to provide a quality clean that makes your entire home feel better. Keep your home maintained in between Chogon Cleaning services visits by implementing a consistent cleaning schedule, like this one for a bathroom:
• Daily: After each shower, use a small squeegee to help prevent water marks on the walls. Also keep a small hand held vacuum to use on the floors each day.
• Weekly: Once per week, combine the above duties with a thorough cleaning of the shower/tub, toilet and surfaces. Mop the floor weekly as well.
• Monthly: Once per month, be sure to organize all of your cabinets and closets within your bathroom spaces. This helps maintain an easy order within these storage spaces.
• Yearly: With regular maintenance, a bathroom should not require a deep, yearly clean. Items to clean occasionally include taking down blinds and giving them a soak in all-purpose cleaner and washing your plastic shower curtain in cold water.

Tips for Common Surfaces, Special Situations, Allergies and Cleaning Safety
Here find Chogon Cleaning services professional tips for common surfaces, and advice from professional house cleaners about special cleaning concerns like safety, green cleaning, unpleasant messes, and stains from pets, red wine, and summer barbecues.
Windows
For most homeowners, cleaning windows is daunting, and almost every room in the house has at least one. Here’s how to keep them clean without getting too bogged down:
Wood
Hardwood flooring can lose its luster and need a treatment of wax to improve its looks and restore its protection from wear, and wood furniture has unique cleaning needs to consider
Red Wine Stains & Cleaning Ceramic/Vinyl Flooring
If red wine is consumed in your house, you know that occasional spills on the carpet are inevitable. Click the link below and you’ll know what to do the next time a spill happens and get some do-it-yourself tips for keeping ceramic tile and vinyl floors looking good.
Safety First
Chogon Cleaning Services adheres to a strict safety regimen during each cleaning service. Being careful around damp, freshly mopped floors is something you obviously keep in mind, but did you know about the extremely dangerous mistake of mixing bleach with cleaning products that contain ammonia?
Got Pets?
Pet owners have special cleaning chores to do when accidents happen. Learn some insider tips on dealing with stains and odours:
Clean Homes = Fewer Allergens
When it comes to stuffy heads, sneezing, wheezing and watery eyes, indoor air can be just as much the culprit as outdoor pollen.
Using Common Household Items as Cleaning Products
Tackle tough stains and build up using common pantry items like corn starch and vinegar—they’re handy, non-toxic and do the trick
The “Scary” Spaces
A little neglect of the garbage disposal, refrigerator and a kitchen garbage can quickly create an unpleasant clean up job.
Bringing Life Back to Sticky Irons, Sweat-stained T-shirts, Dirty Ball Caps, More
Chogon Cleaning Services typically does not perform laundry chores, but as housekeeping service pros, we know the most stubborn laundry issues our clients complain about.
Don’t give up on your sweat-stained undershirts; dirty ball caps; clogged, sticky irons; and “ringed” shirt collars. Discover our secrets:
Sweat Stain Woes
You, or a family member or two are active—triathlon training, football practice, tennis… and the exercise is putting a world of hurt on your t-shirts, so they come out of the dryer discoloured and offering an unmistakable whiff of locker room perfume.
Read up and watch a video explaining the secret to sweat-stain eradication:
Oh, the Iron-y
Irons might last forever, but mineral build up from tap water will clog steamer holes and laundry product residues will muck up sole plates so that they can’t glide without halting or bunching up your clothes.
Dirty Ball Caps
Breathe new life into old ball caps with the press of a button.
Ring around the Collar
Would you believe the key to getting the best of “ring around the collar” is an item in your bathroom? Check out this video
Professional housekeeping services can really lighten your load, giving you all kinds of free time to accomplish other household tasks on your “to do” list, or give you more time to do what you want to.

De-clutter, De-germ, then Delight in Your Organized Space
Chogon cleaning service includes thorough cleaning of home offices, but here we offer do-it-yourself advice that will keep one of the dirtiest rooms in your home a welcome, productive place to telecommute, pay bills, conquer the world or just escape for a little private time.
Clean Office = Clear Thoughts
Offices that are clean and tidy are great places to focus, relax and be productive. Offices that are not cleaned, dusted, and straightened for a couple of weeks quickly become home to disgusting germs and paralyzing clutter. Here are professional cleaning tips that will make your office a place where you can be focused and relaxed.

PropertiesSay Goodbye To Unwelcomed Pests; Mosquitoes, Cockcroaches, Bedbugs, Scorpions Et by CHOGON11(op): 6:16pm On May 14, 2015
Remove those sickening Pests and Bugs from the premises of your homes and offices through our Fumigation and Pest Control Services. Our solutions assist in the effective prevention of pest in household and commercial premises like Residence, Hotels, Resorts, Ware houses, and Commercial Complexes. We experts are proficient in identifying all kinds of infestations and provide solutions accordingly. We undertake quarterly fumigation of premises; Larviciding, Mist fogging, Spraying, Dusting.

Below is a detailed background of the fumigation services required

UNDERSTANDING COMMON PESTS BEHAVIOUR AND HABITS PREAMBLE
Effective pest control management requires proper understanding of pest factors such as types, biology, habits, available control methods etc. of pests commonly encountered in our environment. It also requires the understanding and manipulation of environmental factors that aid the proliferation of pests and common bugs.

We earnestly believe that for a pest free work place, you need to fumigate your office at least once every quarter for the following reasons;

PEST FACTORS

• TYPES OF COMMONLY ENCOUNTERED PESTS
There are numerous orders, families, and species of pests in this environment and quite a number of them have high mutability (i.e. ability to change their properties to new strains within a short period and thus develop resistance to common methods and control agents). The probability of recurrence within a relatively short period of apparent extermination of pests is therefore high.

For example, a recent study conducted by a body of pest specialists revealed that for every 1-cockroach seen and destroyed there are 99 others yet to be seen and destroyed. Thus short spaced-out and regular fumigation using updated agents is necessary to overcome the numerous possibilities of the different types of pests.
The different groups of commonly encountered indoor pests are as follows;
• Cock roaches e.g. Brown, Brown-banded, Surinam, Oriental etc.
• Occasional invaders e.g. Bugs, Centipedes, Mites, Beetles, Crickets etc.
• Ants e.g. Carpenter, Soldier, Pharaoh, Acrobat, Crazy, Large yellow etc.

• Blood feeders e.g. Fleas, Bugs, Lice, Mites etc.
• Fabric and pantry pest e.g. Beetles, Bugs, Millipedes etc.
• Envenomizing pests e.g. Spiders, Wasps, Scorpions
• Vertebrae e.g. Mice, Rats, Worms, Mites, Moths etc.
• Flies e.g. House, Cluster, Bottle, Gnats etc.

PEST BIOLOGY
A common denominator in the biological properties of most pests is the relatively short period of reaching sexual maturity, high number of litters’, and rapid large population build up.
For example, the house mouse (Mus musculus Linnaeus) reaches sexual maturity in 30 – 35 days, averages 6 –7 litters, each with at least 6 young mice. Thus if 1 house mouse finds its way into your office, it builds up about a population of 30 – 35 (minus those from its offspring’s) within a relatively short period of less than one year.

• PEST HABITS
Most indoor pests are good climbers, good jumpers (can jump down many feet), good squeezers (can pass tiny holes and gaps), good hiders, secluded nesters (nest in dark secluded areas where nesting material such as paper, cardboard, files etc. are readily available), shy and anti social etc. All these factors combine to increase the possibility of missing out a few during a one off fumigation exercise and increase the perpetuity of these pests.
For example, the roof rat (Rattus rattus, Linnaeus) unlike the house mouse is very shy and antisocial thus avoids unusual items and changes in its habitat thereby making its control relatively more challenging. It is therefore imperative to conduct regular and repeated fumigation exercises in order to overcome these self-perpetuating habits of commonly encountered pests.

• HEALTH RISKS
Most of the pests have serious potential health risks and hazards being vectors, carriers and or transmitters of various diseases. These diseases have been found to be under-diagnosed in our environment due to dearth of modern diagnostic facilities. Thus a number of fevers assumed to be malaria fever are actually due to some of these pest borne diseases.
Examples include;
I. Plague – deadly disease vectored by rodent and rats
II. Leptospirosis – vectored by rodents and rats
III. Tulaeremia – vectored by flies
IV. Relapsing fevers – vectored by louse and tick
V. Oroya Fever- transmitted by sand flies
VI. Enteric fevers (Typhoid and Paratyphoid) – flies play a significant role in transmission
VII. Food Poisoning and Cholera – vectored by houseflies (Musca domestica)

and a host of other common communicable diseases, which impair health, increase medical expenditure, reduce productive man-hours and ultimately reduce organizational productivity and effectiveness. It is therefore imperative to ensure that regular pest control activities are carried out to avoid the physically, psychologically and financially costly prospect of pest related diseases.

The different groups of commonly encountered indoor pests are as follows;

Examples include;

We earnestly believe that for a pest free work place, you need to fumigate your office at least once every quarter for the following reasons;
