In geography, yes imaginary lines are drawn, but it is never done outside the recognized conditions and factors. U can not just call a place an SS without clarifications bkus that doesn't exist. It is either SSE or SSW

Now u are alluding to my assertions and theories. Clearly from that map, aren't Anambra and Imo SSWs while Abia and Ebonyi are SSEs? Then, Cross River and Akwa Ibom SE?

Also from that map, the places in the Eastern hismphere are; Adamawa, Plateau and Taraba while the western hismphere are Kwara, FCT and Niger.

Yes they should align with geography and in most cases they do align but not necessarily so because they are fictions. What I mean by fictions is that they are created by politics unlike the true geographical points which are embedded in the universe itself. In law we have legal fictions. For example an incorporated company is regarded as a person because by legal fiction it is given the attributes of a human being in order to make it answerable to law. But you and I know that a company is not a person but by operation of law it has become one.



Same thing applies to states or nations. We can create them, alter them and even dissolve them depending on several factors. Several nations in history no longer exist even though their geographies exist. Their names are nothing today but historical relics.

I understand that the geopolitical configuration is fraudulent and generally I do not say I'm from the North. I'm more in tune with identifying myself as a person from the middle belt.

States and countries can be fictitious, since boundaries are imaginary, but I don't think geopolitical zones should also be fabrications, in real sense. The main determinant factor to creating a geopolitical zone should be location, but in Nigeria they have other mischievous factors which are in most cases fraudulent.

Even though I agree with you as per geography, geo-polical configurations need not align with geography cos sometimes they are based on fictions just like the south south.

Any reasons why geopolitical configurations shouldn't align with geography? Isn't geopolitical configuration a product of geography?

U are right and wrong also. Geographically, from the four cardinal points, exists other points that gives the eight cardinal points. The four cardinal points are North, South, East and West.

Between North and West, u will get North West

Between South and East, exists South East

Between South and West, exists South West



There is nothing like South South in geography or anywhere in the world, but in Nigerian political world, unless u wanna break it down to SSE, SSW, ESE, NNE etc
