Rooney functions better as an attacking midfielder not a goal scorer.
You have to understand that. If you watch him play closely, you'd realise he doesn't play like a traditional 9 should (Ibra/Falcao/Eto etc)
He's more of a supporting striker.
Pablo Aimar didn't have to net many goals to be revered in Argentina.
