Forgive me bro but i don't get ur point. According to you Jones in 4 wouldn't have made long range passes compared to blind. But did you watch the match? How many long range passes the blind make, the his only notable contribution was the shot he nearly scored from. To me, i don't think we needed somebody to throw long range passes because there was nobody to throw them to, no striker was making any run behind the defense and all our wimgers were tracking back to defend so all we needed was to protect ourself by deploying a strong 4 to intercept passes from midfield. Blind wasn't interceptin any pass, he was only running around everywhere doing nothing. Even when fellaini was trying to bully opponent off the ball, blind couldn't get in front of an already falling oponent to claim possession., thats where we need a powerful 4. Have you ever watched vidal and pogba? Please try to watch dem. And why are you blaming evans for not performing? The blame should be directed to Mr Van Gaal. Have you ever seen Evans play in the left back position? Does he have the speed, the strenght or the awareness? Why ask him to play there? Moreover if you've been following man utd since the days of sir alex, you'll know that even sir alex deploys jones as a sweeper(4), because jones has the strenght and awareness, against big teams under sir alex, jones was used as a 4. Its easier for a central defender to play as a defensive midfielder than a centra defender to play as a left back. Also try watching pepe of real madrid for further clearifications or cahill of chelsea, even luiz of psg.

Most of these guys you mentioned including Jones were used to man-mark or do specific jobs in the midfield which you don't do against a wee club like Palace. The fact is they're not good in midfield.

Our defence looks worse than it really is cos we lack a good DM/holding midfielder; reason why they are constantly exposed and have been better with Carrick.

We need good two midfielders; DM and CMF.

It's like we've not lost playing shyte.

Yeah of course. That one is easy to cut and I've done that but apparently it needs to be registered and activated before I can use it. It's how to cut my Old MTN Sim that I'm worried about. It doesn't come in the format of these new ones. The Microchip part of my Old Sim is situated at the lower end close to the square edges away from the bevel edge which means I will have to cut of the bevelled edge to use it. I hope it will sit well in the Sim port if I do that.

Van Gaal rules Carrick out for the season

Louis van Gaal has confirmed to MUTV that Michael Carrick will not play again this season because his injury is worse than first thought.

The vice-captain suffered an injury in the closing stages of last month’s 4-2 win over Manchester City and has subsequently missed the Reds’ three consecutive defeats against Chelsea, Everton and West Bromwich Albion in the Barclays Premier League.

The good news is that Luke Shaw is available to face Crystal Palace on Saturday after recovering from the slight problem that kept him out of the match against the Baggies. Jonny Evans is also available, although the boss says he doesn’t have “match rhythm”.

"Carrick is not available, it was more heavy than we thought," van Gaal told MUTV. "We tried everything but now we have to think about next season. He shall not play anymore this season, it's better now to focus for him on next season and being fit to start.

"When you see the stats, it's clear that he's very important but that's also because we have only right-sided holding midfielder. That's what I am saying already in the whole of the season, that our selection is not balanced, and I want to restore that in the next transfer period. The life is not ending at 34, but for a professional football player, it's close by. That's why I have to handle again in that position."

On other injuries, the boss said: "Evans and Shaw can play football or the game. Evans doesn't have the match rhythm as he was injured for six weeks and after that he was suspended for six weeks, and after that he was injured. He needs match rhythm."

Meanwhile, Marcos Rojo is on his way back to full fitness and James Wilson could be among the substitutes after recovering from illness. "There is a virus in our dressing room so it's difficult to say," revealed van Gaal. "He is already a little bit ill for one week but now he is recovering so I think he could be on the bench."

Herrera played in front of Rooney in part of the Chelsea match.

He played the AM against Everton in 90 mins.

Against West Brom, he joined the attacking play in the closing stages. All of them joined in the slow passing game.



Where was the intelligence you are talking about? These guys (Fellaini, Mata and Herrera) are tired from just a few successive matches handed to them. Although Herrera looks fresher than the other two.

Forget this your being 'fresh or not' just to discredit them in comparison to Rooney in the midfield.

1st, Herrera has always played behind Rooney since Chelsea match.

These midfielders have out played opponent's midfielders and reason teams now resort to parking the bus and hit on counter attack.

Our lack of movements in the mid is the fault of the tactics ie the coach and not the players cos most of these players have played in teams that played it fast. Fellaini in Everton, Mata in Chelsea and Herrera in Bilboa played with pace.

Our strikers are not also helping issues.

You need lots of movements, fast and intricate passes from the midfielders like Barca do when you play against teams that park the bus.

It is more diffcult to deal with cos of lack of space and reason movements with good passes is the way to disarray the markers.

I was not so surprised when I saw the result & had to wait for the match replay before I could comment.

do you now agree that the current strike-force will lead us nowhere? these guys were world class forwards, yes but WERE. if we have to move forward, they have to move - & that may include Wayne Rooney.

LvG played Fellaini as top 9 throughout the second half & I have read criticisms of that but he was absolutely right for me -
- RvP had a lot of good movement in the first half but the duo of Fellaini & Rooney couldn't spot it cuz they are not tactical enough to be attacking midfielders
- RvP was up against two very physical defenders, his hold up play was terrible
- the loss of Carrick & Shaw meant Herrera played DM again, away from areas where his passing can influence attacks.
- LvG has still not learnt from past mistakes: Rooney is NOT a MIDFIELDER!
- a simple solution would have been Mata behind RvP & Fellaini.

my simple advice to LvG is to play the long ball from kick off till Carrick returns.

Fellaini as target man, Mata, RvP, Young & Rooney as scavengers. the other 6 players sits in defensive half.

since parking the bus is now hailed as "tactics" by the English media, long ball should also be "tactics".

And who are these CF you would recommend?

Lack of movement not actually pace from our midfield is also the reason we can't break teams when they park the bus. They play the laziest football.

A coach chooses his penalty taker. It's make no sense to change him because he lost one. This is confidence killer. Although I think Mata will do well in penalties. But now there's a fear the boss is watching and counting.

Our number one problem is that we dominate possession at times 80/20% but fail to put games away because we lack clinical strikers who can make goals out of nothing. The two clinical strikers we have in Van Persie and Falcao are both over the hill,aged and injury prone.

True that they're not firing. Our midfield should take most of the blames cos they don't create enough, most of these chances are half chances and strikers must not always be depended on in games. Our midfielders have become toothless.

I watch other strikers and see chances they do miss also so I don't think our strikers are that poor.

Our lack of a DM/holding midfielder has also made us lose balance in the team and easily concede.
