Activist001: I'm also trying to get around TransferWise too. They also have a global payment service just like Payoneer, but you have to pay 20usd for each account unlike Payoneer that is free.
I also heard FG/CBN has sanctioned them, but I still don't understand. Let me know how things go with TransferWise when you're done. Thanks. I have better rates than Transferwise, without charges aswell. This is what I do in Ireland |

ICaSNg: You can pack Nigerian foods including Yam, Garri, Yam flour, Egusi etc.
However, be careful when packing Crayfish, dried/smoked fish and spill-able food items such as palm oil...To be on the safe side pack very minimal of such items. Some airlines have strict ban on palm oils while some totally dis-allow Ghana-must-go bags.
Make sure your food items are packed securely to prevent spillage. For smelly items like fish or locust bean pack securely and place inside Garri.
Finally, be aware of your luggage limit so you don't end up throw or giving away things you won't be able to travel with. All these food stuffs are available overseas @affordable prices *** not like Nigerian rate, but they are available including Agege bread so don't start fretting that you may go hungry .
Cheers
Cheers Lol. Thank you very much |

niyogeol: Hello Pristine88, happy new year and welcome to Dublin in advance.
My little advice to you:
If you don't have a place to stay for the interim before getting your own place, ensure you book a temporary accommodation with any of the backpackers place, because you might be asked if you have a place to stay at the Port of entry.
Ensure you bring basic things you need for the first 2-3 months because you might not find it funny buying some of these things with your naira induced euro. Things like detergent, if you a female, get your monthly uniform - I hope you understand what I mean by this.
As regards accommodation, its pretty expensive here. So it is not out of place to stay in a place that is an hour or less by bus to your school. What I mean is that you shouldn't be too fixed on getting accommodation at the city center as it is usually more expensive. Just ensure you get a place that is on a frequent bus route.
If you are a lover of your naija home made food(s), ensure you come with the necessary food stuffs useful in preparation of such.
This is all I can remember for now. Do feel free to ask any question(s).
Failte to Dublin in advance.
Regards. Great Response bro Please concerning this home made foods, any suggestions on what and what not to bring? Hope one can can carry garri? and how should it be packaged? |

ceceliaa34: Okay thanks. How does one go about filling the host form on the online application? I dont have family in Dublin. If you're going for work or study, you'll have to fill in the information of the employer or college as your host |

cnonwnuwsp17: Please for those that have collected there Passport, when you submitted did VFS send you any email that your application has been dispatch? I didn't get any email or text msg.
Also it's been two weeks since my submission and I am still getting the update below on my profile. Is that the only update you get till you receive your passport? My previous applications via VFS, Canadian and SA I had four diff updates throughout the application period, from the application to collection 1. application received by VFS 2. application forwarded to the embassy 3. application receipt and processing 4. passport return
I was thinking I should be seeing the third update not the second.
Thanks That's basically all you're going to see. No updates like other embassies. Just be patient. My agent was also worried about this, so I wanted to ask same question when I got the vfs delivery man's call at my gate. So just be patient and hope for the best |

Gooday guys. I've been following posts on this thread but didn't ask questions because I was working with an agent. Though I was about to ask a question today when I got a call from the vfs delivery man and to cut the story short, I GOT MY VISA TODAY |
