This new Alaafin has brought so much disrepute to the throne within the short period of his ascension. Ìgbẹ̀raga ló ń s’íwájú ìparun! In this day and age, you think you can force anyone to respect you—so funny! A young man who should be preoccupied with the development of his town and the Yoruba people as a whole is instead busy chasing clout around, seeking yẹyẹ authority over everybody!

I never knew I would at any time despise anything Oyo, but this new Alaafin has made me do so. He started with the Ooni. Can there ever be Oyo without Ile-Ife? He even threatened the Ooni of Ife—what an effrontery! He thought he could openly disrespect the Olubadan of Ibadan without any repercussions! Where are the Oyomesi?! Who are the people misadvising the new Alaafin? He needs to be urgently guided before he brings more disgrace to the stool with his arrogance, contempt, and what-have-you.
The Alaafin needs to understand that he cannot disrespect the Ooni without paying dearly for it. The Ooni is not just a king; he is a god. And Ile-Ife is not just another town in Yorubaland—it is our source.
