ogba1: Sori fellow forumites for posting my interview experience late,it was due to circumstances beyond my control. Last week Monday ,me, my wife and son had our visas approved after a successful. Ours was like a chit -chat as it were. To God be the Glory. We arrived the embassy at about 6am but had to hire chairs to wait for our interview slated for 10am. At the hour, we proceeded to the gate were security checks were effected. Once inside the hall, we paid the necessary fees and our documents checked and received. We sat down to wait for our number to be called. Behold at about 12.30pm our number beeped at Window 13 (handsome guy) who had earlier on denied 2 couples. We braced up and moved with confidence to Window 13 because greater is he who is in us that the one in the world.----- Am the principal applicant. US----Goodmorning sir CO---- Goodmorning and how are u today. US----fine CO----- Do we swear to speak the truth US----- We do. CO-----Sign this columns US---- We signed CO---- (To me) you must be a lawyer, saw that your documents are arrange orderly. ME---- Yes am sir CO---- Then you must be a good lawyer. ME--- I appreciate ur compliment sir (smiles) CO---- How long have been married ME---- I answered CO----- How did u meet ur wife ME---- I answered CO-----Why do you want to go to America ME---- I answered CO-----What is the relationship between you and your host ME---- I answered CO----- (Pointed to my son) Is that your son ME----- I answered CO-----(To wife) when did you marry WIFE---- She answered CO----- What do you do WIFE--- She answered CO-----(Giving back our original documents) Congratulations, I will give u the visas US---- Thank sir (smiles all the way) CO---- (Brought out 2 sheets"collection paper and paper for method to pay $165" and handed them over to me) when are travelling to the US ME---- I answered and added "God Bless and forever bless America" CO----- Thank you. My observation from the above is that one should be confident and relax during the course of the interview. And above all be very very Prayerful and have faith that God is in control. Please forumites join me in thanking GOD for HIS mercies in our lives. I wish everybody a successful interview ahead. The GOD that did it for US will surely do it for you. Hope to see you all at the otherside----US-----OF-----AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Congrats! welcome to the US! |

ojisalara: Good Evening every member in the house, I give thanks to almighty God and all the members of this house who have been of tremendous help to me, you guys are the bomb expecially to @gunners, @amcool who gave me a call after my interviews today, @gentiger @chirpywest who is current on this way to LA, @widelink and everyone my interviews was schedule for 10 am today but I had to leave where I stayed around 5:30am and got to the embassy some minutes pass 6am, I bought a chair for 100 Naira and waited patiently for 9:30am when I joined the queue for 10am appointment, went inside the embassy , asked about how to make payment, took some time to do that but was finally called to make the payment after 30minutes then I proceeded to the front row so I can be able to listen to some of the interviews and it was interesting but the more I listen, the more my confidence grow that I'm certainly getting my VISA today.. there was only three windows open for immigrant today..window 13,14,15, I also noticed that window 14 was a calmness among them today, He even gave a guy a VISA with only two questions CO: are you Mr. bla Bla, the guy said yes, CO: asked him what course he did in the University Guy: electrical electronics at Nasarawa State polytechnic : CO; told the guy congrats and was like praying that I should be interview by him but on a second thought I was ready for anyone they bring and was praying inside me that the Lord should give me the CO that will grant me my VISA ..to cut the story .my interview goes this way Me:Good Morning Co:how are you doing Me: I'm doing great and wonderful CO: Are u Mr. bla Bla Bla ME: Yes I am CO: congrats for winning the Visa lottery Me: Thanks ME:took Finger prints CO: do you swear to tell the truth during your interviews today ME: absolutely I do CO:told me to pick the phone so our conversation won't be public and was smiling ME; I did CO: I see you are from Enugu and was looking at my document ME: Yes and I realize he was looking at my degree Cert CO: what did you do after Service ME: told him I was at home for some months before I got a job CO: how long have you been working ME:told him since December 2010 CO: I see you are an Engineer ME: yes, I work with bla bla company at Port-harcourt CO: your work in the platform? ME:yes at the platform and on land rigs CO: what you project topic ME: PLC's CO: said wow PLC's , you can do that ME: said yes and continue to explain my project to him, what PLC was all about Co: was busy typing and brought two white sheet, circle one one and told me to excuse him for a minute Me: ok Co: that the interviews was a success and ask me to pick up my VISA as from Monday in the circle address and told me I should read instructions on how to pay for Green Card before I travel to State
Note; they were denials today but I realized that most of them were not inform and some very annoying cases where someone can't express himself, couldn't even get one question the CO ask, kept on asking the CO, what did you say ..it was annoying because he blocked a space for some people Congrats bro! welcome to the US! |

Gentiger: This is Gentiger reporting live and direct from LOS ANGELES California. I arrived safely yesterday, 17:00 local time after about 20hrs flifgt and 6hrs layover at Istanbul.
It was a fun experience and i thank everyone who through prayers and goodwill messages made this happen. If you are coming through Los Angeles, i must prepare your mind on what to expect. I cant tell if it's the same thing everywhere else. On arrival, we were greeted by sniffing scoundrels. They had to ensure we were drugs free. We proceeded to the immigration post to have our documents and visa packets (sealed Envelope} processed. It took a while because we were about 6 of us. I issued them with a new address for the delivery of my green card. You can change the delivery address of your green card to anywhere of your choice within the US. It's not true, neither is it mandatory you must come in through the Port you specified in your form to KCC.
From the immigration post we were ushered to the customs for screening. They spent time processing us. Expect discriminatory treatment if you are an African male, Asian or Middle east. They will single you out for special attention. They did what must be done and formally welcomed us to America.
For those of you who already have your visas, hurry up and join us here. This country is a beautiful place. Nowhere in Nigeria can be compared to Los Angeles California. Those awaiting interview, i wish you success. You will surely testify. I will be back here to share my experience with gay people as a way of preparing your minds for what obtains here. Talk to you later.
Gentiger signing off. Love you all. Congrats bro! Welcome to the U S of A!! |
Hi house. Just came back from my visa interview. I know this is arguable, but thanks to God, it should be the shortest interview ever.
It went like this; Interviewer: Hi Me: Hi. Nice tie Interviewer: (Blushes, looks at his tie, smiles widely, then looks at me): Thanks. Interviewer: Are you Adegoke? Me: Yes, Adegoke Adesina Interviewer: Which school did u finish from? Me: OAU, Ile Ife Interviewer: When did u graduate? ME: 1999 Interviewer:Which course did u study? Me: Engineering Physics Interviewer: How come you're in banking? Me: Nigerian banks take graduates from all fields. You get trained on the job. So.... Interviewer: I was an Engineer too, and I found myself here, so I understand u Me: You don't say Interviewer: Yeah Me: Where u begin and where u end are two different things
He kept smiling all the way, almost whistling when he brought out the forms, congratulated me, & told me my visa has been approved.
My tip for those awaiting the interview is.... Follow the instructions on the website thoroughly, & be very nice & civil. It can shorten ur interview considerably.
But more importantly, be confident in God. When it's ur time to change location, then it's ur time, hopefully for d best.
I am now officially a Yankee.
Meet u guys on the other side!
Congrats! |
I want to first of all thank God for my situation because it has taught me how to be tolerant and patient. I had my interview on 4th February and was issued a green sheet to return on 8th February for my VISA, on arrival I was told my VISA was not ready, the took the sheet and handed me a white sheet putting me on Administrative Processing. On my first filling for DV 2013 I mistakenly typed 1990 instead of 1987 as date of birth so I knew they wanted to verify that I wasn't a criminal cos I wrote the correct date on the DSP form and swore an affidavit. I was soo sad and frustrated. I didn't give up, I still psyched myself, prayed and fasted. On last thursday 28th March I read abt some forumites who were also on AP and had been called. I tapped into their success and at 12:00 pm I was called by the American embassy in Ghana asking me to come to the embassy on Monday at 1pm with my letter and the passport. I went there today and we went tru the normal security checks. I was called up to one of the CO and I was asked to present my passport and that all my documents were ok. She re-issued me with a new green sheet asking me to return on friday for my VISA. I thank God for all he has done for me and I also thank all members that continue to help pple out there like me. God bless you all...to all those on AP, you will be called and you shall all be issued VISA's IJN. Sori 4 my long story tho I hope someone wud learn from my story.....
Congrats man! Bigpiper: Had my Interview on the 6th of this month but I couldn't share my experience here because I thought I was dreaming and I might just wake up any time soon. After I collected my passport with visa on it today, I knew it wasn't a dream. Unlike most of you, I have no education besides primary school, I was trained as a mechanic and I must say I'm very good at it. I never knew nairaland existed until after my interview and this account I'm using to share my experience is my big brother's. He played the lottery on my behalf without my knowledge and he said I must share my testimony with you all because u made it possible. Everything he read on this site he related to me. Thank you and God bless every one of you. My interview experience: Interview was scheduled for 10AM, got to the embassy around 9:30 Submitted 2NL at the gate Checked at the Security Check Point. Made to leave my phones behind Made DV Payment Submitted Originals Documents (did not make photocopies) to Nigerian lady She went through the documents, gave me back my primary school certificate and told that they require a minimum of five (5) credits. She went away with the document leaving my primary school certificate with me. Then after waiting a while I was called up to window 13: Me: Good Morning Co: Good Morning Co: Take your finger print Me: i did Co: Right hand up and promise you will tell me the truth and nothing but the truth Me: I promise Co: What is your highest level of education Me: Told her Co: No Waec? Me: No Co: Why did you stop at primary school? Me: Told her Co: What do you do? Me: Told her Co: Where do you work? Me: Told her Co: Tell me about your work schedule Me: told her (explained and narrated for about 3 minutes. She never took her eyes off me) Co: Go and get your visa at the circled address in five working days from today. She gave me another papper with instructions on how to pay the $165. Co: Congratulations Me: Thank you. Two days later I go an email from the embassy to come with photocopies of my birth certificate and credential (waec and above) to the consulate any day of the week beside friday. I got very scared but I went (after adzovia told me I had nothing to be worried about) and I submitted the photocopies. I was told to go and get my visa the next day. Instead of going I kept tracking and the tracking kept telling me "my passport is in post". It was uniqueprivacy who told me to go there, I got there lo and behold my passport/visa has been ready all along. Atlanta here I come ... Glory be to GOD! Congrats! |
