Reports reaching DAILY POST have it that one person has been reportly killed while several others sustained injuries following a bloody fight between Hausa and Fulani herdsmen in an Abattoir in the Agege area of Lagos State.
It was gathered that before the operatives of the state Rapid Response Squad, RRS, were deployed to the scene, one person had been killed.

DAILY POST could not independently confirm what led to the squabble as at the time of filing this report.


The, RRS, has, however, confirmed the development via its official Twitter handle @rrslagos767, saying

“One killed, scores sustained machete wounds as Hasusa and Fulani youths engage themselves in Abattoir, Agege.”

Akande also stated that about of 500,000 graduates who would be integrated into the teaching system would be paid N5, 000 token while on training. His words: “The budget for 2016 which has been submitted to the National Assembly has made an allocation of half a trillion naira, the first time in the history of this country’s budget where you have that huge chunk of money allocated for social investment. There are six social safety net programmes. One of them is the conditional cash transfer where government is going to pay N5, 000 monthly to the vulnerable and extremely poor Nigerians. That promise stands. “The President never promised to pay unemployed graduates N5, 000; the President never made that promise and the government never made that claim that it will pay N5, 000 to unemployed graduates. The programme for unemployed graduates is the direct creation of half a million teaching jobs so that they will be trained; 500, 000 unemployed graduates will be trained to teach and they will be deployed to teach, while they are looking for their career paths or jobs. That still stands! “In addition to that, there is also a scheme to train 370, 000 non-graduate youth for skill acquisition and vocational training. During the time of that training, they will also be paid. “So the President did not say that he would be giving unemployed graduates N5, 000. The N5, 000 monthly stipends which is already in the budget is for the vulnerable Nigerians and the extremely poor. Once the budget is okay , one million extremely poor Nigerians will receive N5, 000 monthly.”

THE West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has refuted comments credited to its Registrar, Dr. Iyi Uwadiae, that the council will give the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, a free form to rewrite her O’Level Mathematics paper.

The story was an alleged reaction of Uwadiae to claims by Mrs. Adeosun that the council made N16 billion on sale of forms, and got N6 billion subvention from the Federal Government, which she added up to N24 billion instead of N22 billion.

In a statement, the Head, Public Affairs Department, WAEC Headquarters, Accra Ghana, Mr. Abiodun Aduloju, noted that the story, which has been circulating online, was false.

He said Uwadiae, who works at the WAEC Headquarters in Ghana, did not grant any interview.

The statement said: “The publication is worrisome and embarrassing to WAEC, as the registrar did not make the statement credited to him and could not have responded as purported to an allegation in which the name of his organisation was not mentioned. The registrar does not reside in Nigeria and has not granted a press interview or engaged in an informal chat with any Nigerian media representative or authorised anyone to speak on his behalf concerning the minister’s statement
