i dont trust that brand. used it on my camry and nearly knocked the engine. but i had peace of mind with mobil 1 5w30

Uneven wear on the brakepads.

Heat might have made the o rings in the caliper and piston weak. (not too likely)

yea, i saw the pads chopping from that upper side. the disc almost burnt my finger. thanks. that small bolt no de the whole of bayelsa o.

Always use a clamp to compress caliper pistons, that way you do not bend the bolts.

this is exactly what i am suffering now. changed my brake pads 2 months ago as a preventive measure. afterwards i started hearing some clunking sound, grinding sound (only once in the morning when pulling out and applying brakes) then brake drag, and increased fuel consumption. then i started hearing some intermittent squeaky sound all from the same rear passenger tire. went back, we dismantled the caliper, greased the components and coupled back. symptoms lessened, then appeared with greater intensity. i came back from church on sunday, raised the car on jack and discovered tyre couldnt spin on its own (except with so much force from me). removed tyre, dismantled caliper and behold, upper caliper bolt was well bent. unfortunately couldnt get it in bayelsa. will be sourcing for it in PH tomorrow. gazzuz, is there any greater problem this might have caused to any other component?

I have been experienced 2 recent timing belt failures in the last 3months in my Camry 01 which is quite unusual. timing belts shld not be changed more than once a year under ideal scenarios and I need to know what could be the culprit cos its not fun experiencing such incidents.

which symptoms can one look out for? advice and suggestions are welcome

I have noticed this with a lot of 2001 camry. Like sienna said, either a fake belt or bad technician. But check online if there is a timing belt TSB from toyota

Tell us when u started using the Ford and when u started using 5w20. Did u buy the Ford toks or naija used. Of naija used, was the previous owner using 20w50. If yes, how long

Sway bar replacement and tie rod end inner right side replacement.

Procedure I used.

Steering rack down, engine beam lowered, propeller detached.

Please ensure the joint between steering and rack is marked before starting the job. That way you don't mess up the steering angle.

Also you need two containers to collect powersteering oil and gear oil when drained so you don't mess up the floor.

You can still use the recommended engine oil. The mistake you made is that you could have flush the first before changing the oil then. It's because majority of our mechanics don't even know the difference in these engine oil. They could have advised you better to use an engine flush before changing the oil. It works. ...

guy please, in the name of God, stop posting toxic stuff here. This is a public forum and people tend to swallow stuff hook, line and sinker here. You still don't get it. The problem is that those synthetic have detergent property that washes off the sludge formed by 20w50 which is protecting the expanded rubber seals of the engine. When u "flush" in your context, u have just done what the detergent property of 5w20 would do but in a rather rapid way. This is just a recipe for leakages and rattling and hastened engine knock. So if u have used 20w50 for a long time, stick to it. No doubt manufacturer recommended oil grade is the best. Macmilla, was lucky with the location of his leakage. Most others may have very bad internal leakages that will end up as burnt oil.

check that your car throws up a code. U may be needing to change your throttle position sensor

is the bolded not going too far? let him scan the car and clean the throttle body
