Thanks Mike.

Checks did not reveal any other problem. Other parts around the area of the noise seem ok. More so, I have changed stabiliser linkage and camber bushings to original ones.
strut mounts? stabilizer bar bushing?
Car Talk › Re: Advice Needed To Repair 2008 Honda Accord 2.4L by chukel(m): 7:18am On Jul 04, 2015

I didnt go to work so my friend asked me to help him fix coolant leakage at the thermostat housing. The engine oil was getting contaminated with ground metalic particles making the oil look strangely coloured. A different menchanic was used so i described our predicament. He listened very well and then squat on his knees to hear the bottom. He asked me for permission to open the bottom oil pan. I agreed knowing my friend will not be pleased i am encouraging him to spend more money after experienced people have given their virdicts.

The mechanic proceeded and discovered sludge of wearing .metal and the connecting rod end cap bolts were the ones a making contact with the oil pump balancer shafts at positions shown in the picture below. I thought whether Honda didnt think that those could meet hitting themselves but why it didnt happen before? They thought so thats why they had a procedure and markings for installing the pump just like that of timing. My little online search revealed that the mark on the oil pump sprocket should be around 7o'clock.while the engine is set at cylinder #1 TDC. That will effectively ensure the bolts will not hit the balancer. My previous mechanics obviously didnt know that and so they might have installed the pump with sprocket mark at 12o'clock just like the crank shaft would have been set at cylinder #1TDC. That was their gross mistake. I made an attempt to tell this mechanic, he said he knew very well how to set oil pump timing. He eventually did very well.

However, things didnt just go so smooth. I remembered the last mechanic saying that the oil pump had its own bearing and also had no explanation for the metalic stained oil pan and oil. I imagined that all the hits this oil pump took, something may have suffered. Just when the pump was to be reinstalled, i paused him and asked to inspect the pump myself. I shook the 1st balancer and was firm. I shook the 2nd and it was seriously gapped and wobbly. I called his attention. We discovered the bearings was almost totally worn probably due to the hit. Thats the source of ground metal in the engine oil and oil pan. That was 6pm, we were lucky to get it at Apo mechanic village.

Now, i cant tell you the huge relieve i have had. My friend had to verbarly express his gratitude for all my selfless sacrifice and comittment to solving his headache. My drive home was so sweet i maintained 140km/h with a/c cooling my nerves.
I love the dogged determination. #teamfactoryrepairmanual

Has anybody used KYB strut assembly before...how reliable are they? One of the front shocks of my RX330 is making some clunking sound when I turn the steering wheel to the left or climb a pavement of sidewalk. The sound suggests it's weak thus requiring replacement. I want to use KYB. From online reviews on clublexus, it appears as a popular and good OEM brand.

Please share your experiences if you have used this product.

Thank you innticipation of your comments.
r u sure it is your strut that is bad?

The file was bigger than 250kb.

I made a shorter recording as attached. I am sure the top cylinder is quiet likewise the crankshaft area.
sound is really bad. This may end up a circus, with u getting back to the point u will buy a new engine. My neighbor's 07 accord sounds exactly like that. The guy has no form of maintenance for the ride.

Yes o! Also check the pic below, tie rod end inner side.
replaced not up to 6 months ago. Ordered and replaced with deeza inner and outer tie rods plus ball joints with stabilizer links and bushings. Steering shaft/rack is shaking though. One of those problems from factory.i have the TSB from toyota but haven't gathered liver to do the job. Simple greasing job. The thing tire me. Clunking is from the back, mild though. But started after changing pad. Today I noticed a pin or clip on the caliper assembly has given a deep mark on the disc. My preventive maintenance is causing wahala for me.

I'm really not happy about this. I knw u r doing this out of accumulated frustration and annoyance. There is just no way femmy will say he did not see the rust. Hell no. As for mileage, I'm with femmy on that one. Once they are in kilometer, convert to miles and compare with the expected of car of same age. Osama, u will take some blame. How can u continue doing same thing and expect a different result. To the extent of buying 4 vehicles even after ur dissatisfaction. No matter how busy u r, u can make out time, go to lagos or cotonou and make it choice. I bought all my cars in cotonou and I made the choices by myself. No issues. Next time, please do it yourself. The rust are just too much. Which will u replace and which will u leave. For peace of mind, u may consider selling and replacing the cars.
What a contrast looking back in time seeing all the praises and thank you, you showered on femmy and comparing with this thread.

Dropped the car at his workshop last week, original problems was the catalytic converter and changing of rusted transmission/power steering hoses. But after the scan we found some codes with regard to the solenoid in the transmission.

So when he gets the main cause of the problems we would kick it off from there.
Ok. I will keep in touch to know whether or not to proceed with him. Thanks
