Put the currency you have on the left side to get the currency you want on the left. It's that simple. Is anyone here applying to a London based school? They are very particular about this. Put ur closing balance as the amount you have and compare the outcome in the currency you want with the amount required by ukvi. MrsDaniels: When i typed in 1pound to the right it came out to be 431 to a naira. @olowoB, @justwise and all pls confirm the attachments for us and tell which is most authentic. |

Best option is to get someone in the UK to pay for u, then u transfer the money to him/her. That was how I paid every damn thing. No time for bank hassles. BarryJones: Please
1. Can I use Form A to pay for my accomodation?
2. Can I use Form A to receive my upkeep and living expenses when I get to UK & open a UK account?
Thanks. |

Thank God the CBN intervened. It's now 431 naira for £1 on Oanda. Hopefully the emergency policy from the president will pull through this week to save the Naira. Remember my prediction that it will drop before the crazy fluctuations started in the evening. Let's hope today's live market will be more stable, so prospective applicants can apply tomorrow. If your fund is up to 28 days and you calculated with 432 and above, please apply immediately. All the best to the house. |

Thank God it just bounced back to 433 after 2 hours. I hope they pump enough foreign currency into the market to curb the crazy demands. Expect a crazy rate on Oanda tomorrow. |

I'm really scared and I feel for people who are yet to apply. Currently on xe, the pounds is hitting a maximum of 758 to naira. This just happened and it's bad news for Oanda rates tomorrow. If it stays like this for a while today, we might experience an all time low for naira on Oanda tomorrow. I hope CBN intervenes today. |

Of course it's not. Buying is more expensive. 445 is just for selling. The home office uses the buying rate cos that's what you will do. You have the amount in Naira to buy something in pounds. fizzile: From the pix u just uploaded, that means £1 is not even 445, cos from the picture its less than £1 pound. So how then will one know the rate the home office will use. The whole thing is just confusing. I'll still try it out anyway. |

All the same. mzsI: i think a safer way to do it would be to choose the buying GBP option cos what you have when u put naira on the right is for selling GBP but what you wanna do is buy GBP instead so that the conversion rate to use. that was what i did anyway |

Hahahahahaha! Lotto? I just checked now. The rate will come down tomorrow. It's already 431 minimum and 452 maximum. If it remains like this till 22:00 when Oanda closes for the next trading day, it will come down tomorrow. My best pick is do ur applications on Wednesday or Thursday. Just check the rate tomorrow morning and compare with today. I can bet anything that the rate will come down below 450 tomorrow. I'll prove that this is not lotto. It worked for me. OlowoB: @bolded, not the same thing. I think they normally will type the naira you have in your account on the left hand side to determine if it is up to for example £9,135 (Studying outwith London)
As for the prediction, he is just playing Lotto don't mind him. |

Sorry bro but that's so untrue. Try it now. As a matter of fact, am on the site now. Put one pound on the left, Mark the equivalent, then put the Naira equivalent on the right, it will be less than 1 pound. Seems you've not done the experiment before. Lol fizzile: No matter the side u put it,u will still arrive at the same thing. Its like putting Naira on the left hand side,it will give you the pounds equivalent on the right hand side. On the other hand if u put the same pounds on the left hand side, it will still give you the naira equivalent on the right. So what's the difference. As for the prediction method, I think u r just doing guess work. No one can ascertain what the rate will be tommorrow or next. So let's not mislead people. No one can ascertain. You were only lucky. |

Yes. I am sure of this. Read it carefully, you will see 'the currency I have' and 'the currency I want'. I got the info from a friend who works at the Imperial college. They are allowed to assess students' maintenance fund on behalf of the embassy. So their prospective students don't get to submit their financial proof at the embassy. That's for top schools in the UK though. London schools are also tough on Proof of finance before CAS. MrsDaniels: @chuksbenin did u put ur naira on the left and then got the pounds value on the right side? Cos peeps been telln us to put pounds on left and then naira on the equivalent to the right. @elope justwise @olowob |

Am good to go then. Thanks a lot bro. Is anyone going to the University of East London this September? OlowoB: My brother, don't stress yourself. just go and collect your visa when you get your collection mail.
Home office uses the rate of the day you paid online. Based on the bolded, you are good to go. |

House, I just found out a trick about predicting exchange rate on Oanda. Oanda uses the average or mean fluctuations of the previous day to arrive on their selling rate. In case you have not applied, you can go to Xe or download the app. Whatever is their lowest and highest rate today will be reflected on Oanda tomorrow. That was how I made my prediction before my application. Remember to put ur closing balance in Naira on the left side as the currency you have and check the equivalent on the right as the currency you want. If you do otherwise, you'll get a different value. All the best. |

Same thing happened to me, so I had to pay for accommodation. I paid 1265 pounds cos that's the maximum amount that can be deducted from the maintenance fund so don't pay more. I am going to London though but I think it's less outside London. MrsDaniels: My dear if u havent submitted ur bank statement to d uni for issuance of CAS then would advice u pay some more tuition deposit to the school and tell them to update it on your cas so that the tuition fee balance left in ur account would be reduced if the fluctuation has really affected your balance. Wishing u all the best. |

They use the day of application i.e the day you paid your visa fee not the submission day. Unless you paid on ur submission day. bal2012002: I don't think there's anything to worry about. I applied on Wednesday 17th August and not bordered about the current rate cos the UKVI said there use the exchange rate of the day of submission. Experts please confirm or correct my comment. |

Unfortunately, you can't control the market but I strongly advise you to apply as soon as possible. Remember, the ukvi will use the rate on Oanda on the day you pay ur visa fee. Timm: Hello guys,
I am presently in shock as result of the giant downward path Naira has embarked on. I have kept maintenance money in my account for more than 3 months now. Each time my 28 days counting is about to complete the Naira will slide further. Last Friday was the latest one, from N419 it moved downward to N449 and now N445.
At this point, my school resumes on 26th Sept I just have to apply now. Please I will like to know if there is anyone who has experienced this situation before and applied like that.
Please share your experience with me here.
Thank you. |

Honestly you have to wait until you receive the notification for collection. mzsI: Hi everyone,
today is the 14th day since i had my interview and i haven't even received a decision mail. i was worried so i decided to call the ukvi help line to track it and i was told decision has been made. how will i even know when to collect if TLS doesn't even update their website to reflect that decision has been made or email from sheffield.
has anyone experienced this? |

Please house, I applied online on the 10th of August at the rate of 1pound to 419.142 naira and I had enough money then but I just checked now and it's almost 450+ to one pound which exceeds my balance(I calculated with 440). Please will this affect my application in anyway? Cc justwise My interview was on the 12th of August. |
