Baba Justwise is right. I once argued it but I later confirmed it's actually from the application date. It's also boldly stated on the first email from the UKVI after receiving your application. My apologies justwise.

How do you know that? They told you that?

Firstly, you can book a one way ticket if ur duration is more than one year. The immigration officers won't bounce you because of this. As for raising eye brows, it's routine for immigration officers to single out some people and scrutinise them on their own volition. You can't question that but don't be scared as long as you have all your documents handy, especially your bank documents and the visa approval letter. Don't forget to wear your confidence shirt as this will work on ur first impression. Alles gute! And please note that some return tickets expire after 12 months if unused or unchanged.

Just like Justwise said before, if your uncle wants to sponsor you, he should pay the money to your account and leave it for 28 days so you can print the statement. That's all.

You should be less than 18 and legally adopted by your uncle with documents to back it up, to qualify for this. Alles gute!

I paid for Kenyan airways last last. A bit more expensive but the timing is better. I prefer night flight to morning rush o. we will see in Heathrow.

Don't be scared. It means they have to do more verifications. Probably one or more of your documents was/were not as explanatory as they want. I think you are lucky they didn't void ur application. You'll pull through. You don't have to do anything. Just wait.

So I just collected my passport with the Vignette on the first page! it's gonna be a cold winter in London, then a white Christmas in Germany. Who's going East?

So I was at the VAC in VI today and they said mine is not in Nigeria yet. I met a guy who was bounced for the slightest and funniest reason I've ever heard. He actually told me he was scared before we were called for collection. He was calling his school Portsmouth instead of Plymouth. That was the only reason why he was bounced.

Please guys I got my decision mail on Thursday but I have not received the collection notification from the center. Can I go there today and check or is it too early? Please help.

Once you receive the collection mail, you can go. It might come on Monday though. I observed they advise some people not to book flights or pay for accommodation on the decision email while they omit this in some people's emails. In my own case I wasn't told not to. We're you?

Sorry Yomiselmer, I applied on the 10th of August, I had my interview on the 12th at the Teleperfomance office on the island. I got a mail that ukvi received my application on the 17th. I contacted ukvi on the 30th and they replied on the 31st that they have processed my application and a decision has been made. So hopefully by Monday I should know my stand.
