No no and No! Normally you should have more than enough to do this so you don't run run short of the amount you are required to show. Believe me,in as much as a third party aside the government has no right to ur bank details (except the ones you willingly submitted to them), the ukvi will go any length to verify ur documents and info especially when they have the slightest doubt about their authenticity. Please don't risk it. When your visa cones out, you got ur money to spend. fizzile: Does it mean the VOs don't verify from the banks what you truely have in your account? As in do they depend solely on the statement you present. Cos am having same challenge; I will need some money to pay for the visa, ihs and oda stuffs of which I have as part of the money in the account. Will it be right to print my statement den withdraw the amount I need? Which brings me back to the question, will they in anyway verify if what is on ur statement is EXACTLY what u have in ur account? Am not talking of the authenticity of the statement but the EXACT amount on the statement and what u have in d account. cc:sassyboochic, MrsF, Mrsdaniels, olowoB, chucksbenin |

Write what is in your statement. Even though the ukvi does not have the right to request ur closing balance from the bank, they have avenues for confirming the authenticity of your bank documents. I am very sure of this. Goodluck. TobyAn: I believe it is just the funds on the 28 days following the print that would be put into consideration by the ECO.. As for the OANDA rate, the money which should be written in your application is the money available by the close of balance for the 28 days in your account... (The oanda rate used by the ECO is the rate for the date of application for the visa i.e. in your case today) |

Am surprised that people are printing the form VAF9. There is nothing like that in VI. In fact it is boldly written on the ukvi guidelines that it's specifically for countries where online registration is not available. Maybe those guys at Ikeja are creating their own. Lol. Besides it's actually the same thing with your application form. |

The self assessment form is for people who are applying outside the UK where online application is not available. So I guess you don't really need it if you are applying online. It is called Form VAF9' Timm: I finally submited and had my interview done today. Thank you for all your inputs.
I forgot to submit my oanda sheet and passport photograph, I hope this will not be used against me.
I want to advise anyone who is planning to submit his/herapplication should remember to print self assessment form. I didt go with mine because I didt see it on the application website when I was filling my application. I had to pay 21naira per page at the teleperformance centre in Ikj. |

Never to worry. The UKVI no longer accepts passport photos from applicants at the Teleperfomance center in VI. The lady that took my documents made it clear. Thats the reason why they take their own photo shots inside the biometric cubicles. As for the self assessment, this is optional as well as the Oanda page. I paid 100 naira to photocopy a page at Walter Carrington on my appointment day at the German embassy in 2013. I guess you were luckier. Timm: I finally submited and had my interview done today. Thank you for all your inputs.

It's not about how you put it. It's about what is clearly written there. There is a place for 'the currency you have' and another space for 'the currency you want'. Read before inputting figures. Let's not assume cos the VO will read that too. Good morning. MrsDaniels: An educational frnd says its the way u did it, naira to the right and pounds to left. |

This is exactly correct. At some airports in Europe you can print your pass yourself from those machines. I did that in Nurnberg and Munich. Just make sure ur bar code is quite visible. justwise: That it possible and you will be given an e-boarding pass which will be scanned at the airport. Few days to your traveling date you will be sent an email to check in online then print your boarding pass or have it on your smartphone.
When you get to the airport the airline will scan that and give you another pass that you will go through the security with |

You can check in online. It's very possible but it's not available for all airlines. Be prepared to undergo airport checks too. What you did was just confirm your flight and your seat not check in. Just be there early to check in and get ur boarding pass. Listen well and ask questions when confused. Safe. umarwy: Online check in and choosing one sit on the plane are two different things entirely
Am also flying Emirates and I have chosen by seats on both of the connecting flights ( near window)
And Emirates said it clearly on their site that online check in is only for those without luggages (with only hand luggage)
So advice you follow the flight itinerary and stick to the time given to you on your ticket
Btw when's your flight? Have you applied/gotten your PTA??

Of course you'll go through all those rigorous checks at MM. especially if you are a first time flyer. Its not something you should worry about. Just be there an hour and half before your departure so you will have enough time. Safe. Please remember to put your laptop or other perishable electronic devices in your back pack. soulhighman: Okay. What about taking the tickets there and deciding not to use the self check in but instead joining others for the normal check in? Will it work? I would like to retain those window side seats. |

Please Madam nobody is on ur case o. I never called u a dummy either. Just trying to help out so u don't get into trouble. We are together. I was trying to tell you that even though there were lapses in Mrsf's tuition fee cos of exchange rate, the UKVI might just give the kid the visa because they've seen the carer's account and knows there is someone in the UK that can be held responsible for the child's welfare and probably the carer has more than enough in his or her account. This enough can make them give the child entry permit to the United Kingdom. All the best in ur application MrsDaniels: Chuksbenin pls i beg u to pls kindly get off my case. Am not a dummy nor blind not to be able to understand or see what @mrsF told me. Be it maintenance or tuition thats kept in an acc. Fact still remains either of the both went through '28days' rule. Pls |

Am not sure of Lagos even though I've seen it on the internet before. I've only checked in my self at Frankfurt, Munich, Doha and London Stanstead. I'm not sure of Lagos, so please don't take chances. Lol. It's just about placing ur bar code on those scanners. Nothing special. soulhighman: To the regular travellers on this thread. Mrsdaniels, mrsf, umarwy and co. Pls help out with this question. Its my first time of flying tho. My school where I got the scholarship already booked my ticket and I was told I could either check in online or at the airport. I decided to check in online (Emirates), so I've selected my seats already. I saw it on my e ticket that I will use my ticket number at the self check in point at the airport. I want to ask if there are self check in points at the Lagos airport, or It would be best to just cancel my seat online and check in at the airport. I did the online check in so it can be easier when I get there but as it is now, I don't know if that will work. Thanks |

Be aware that MrsF 's child is a minor and as such has a carer in the UK who should have the maintenance fund in his or her account. She's just talking about the tuition fee so her case is quite different from yours. MrsDaniels: Chuksbenin pls am very very aware of this fact even before u began contributing on here. My question isnt related to the response u giving. |

Bro, on the average, midweeks are the best! My predictions exclude weekends though. I'll monitor the live rates and see how next week will be. It's not just about the upper and lower rate. You look at the indicators too. The way things are going, it'll favour most of us. Bless you. fizzile: How about Mondays or tuesdays? Are rates favourable on those days? |

For those asking about the exchange rate, did u remember my post. I guess the bolded explains it. Thanks. chuksbenin: Yea. The live rate was stable yesterday like I said before the news broke about the ban on banks. Thank God the rates increased after 22:00 when Oanda has already concluded their average for today. The live rate this morning is high and a bit unstable ranging from 435 to 450 and currently 449 so I advice people who can to apply today sharply. Their will definitely be an increase tomorrow. Let's pray they lift the ban soonest. And remember that weekends are always high, stable and dormant so it's a no no. All the best my people. |

Read what is in the UKVI guidelines. The exchange rate of the day of application. Go to Oanda. Put the date of ur application and see the exchange rate. The day of application is the day u pay the fees associated with your application i.e visa fee. MrsDaniels: @justwise is it proper that if one deposited one's money in bank july 1st, and due to rate been higher than the initial rate used to multiply the money, and the next day the rate reduces can one say u started counting from july 2nd. |
Travel › Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by chuksbenin: 7:04am On Aug 26, 2016 |
Get ur facts right, the application date is the day you pay your visa fee. Don't add to the guidelines of UKVI. umarwy: Mr chuks, please try to show some form of respect and reasoning. If you book appointment two weeks after you apply online are you submitting your paper application online or on your appointment date. I also believe an application is not complete without biometrics. Did you do your biometrics in cafe?? |

So if I book my appointment 15 working days after my application date, that means my visa will come out on my interview date according to Justwise. Lol. |
Travel › Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by chuksbenin: 9:25pm On Aug 25, 2016 |
Justwise and co have not answered my question. If the 15 days duration is from the day of application, what of someone who paid online and chose an appointment date that is two weeks after the application day, so you mean you will still count 15 days? That means two weeks after ur applications, you'll go for interview. Will the visa still come out after 15 working days from the application date. I'm surprised you guys are not grasping this. Funny! spikesC: Even the email confirms what justwise said. Please read the excerpt carefully. It says the application date not the date they received it. We all know what the application date is right? For benefit of doubt, please check the tier 4 guideline for what the application date is |
