Politics / Restoration Message For APGA By Acting National Chairman by chuksnwoga1: 2:00pm On Jan 02, 2017
NEW YEAR MESSAGE OF RESTORATION FROM OZO NWABUEZE OKAFOR, ACTING NATIONAL CHAIRMAN OF APGA

I welcome you all great APGAns into 2017. The year our Lord will open a new page in every area of our lives, including our dear party, APGA. 2016 wasn't an easy year for us in APGA and our country in general. But with our faith in God and resilience, we were able to overcome all and ultimately crossed over to 2017.
Like the promise made to us in the Bible in Joel 2:25,all will be restored especially the fortunes of our great party which was battered by the enemies of the party within the past 17 months. I once again reassure our party men and women that old things are gone and sanity will be restored at all cost. Am also assuring our members that we will face every election with all seriousness. Gone are the days were our candidate will be abandoned after collecting nomination fees from them. We must plan with them, strategy with them, restrategy with them, fight with them from the beginning till the end of the election. No matter the part of the country they emerge from. We must put every resources and strength to ensure we win elections for APGA under my watch.
As a former National president of ALGON (Association of Local Governments of Nigeria), I will deploy my vast grassroot experience in all the 9572 wards, 774 LGAs and 36 states +FCT of Nigeria. We will ensure that the presence of APGA is felt in these areas with vibrancy and compete favourably with any other political party in Nigeria. We will no longer experience a situation were a political party as big as APGA and the third largest political party in Nigeria will be turned to a laughing stock by getting just 876 votes in a governorship election.
We believe in the powers that resides with the people. And as long as the Sun rises and sets, there is bound to be problems with people that pursue a common goal or lives together. And in politics, you can't rule out problems. We will try as much as we can to give listening ear to our party men and women. We will treat everybody as equal and give fair judgement to all so that all parties in dispute will go home satisfied.
Finally, as we tend to restore the dwindled fortunes of our great party, all the party organs, wings, chapters etc as stated in our party's constitution must be carried along. No decision will be taking alone. Everybody will be carried along to build a better APGA that we will be so proud of. I want to state again that there is no limitation to what we can achieve with your continuous support.
....Let's continue being our brother and sister's keeper. Happy New Year to you all.
Okokorokooooo

Nairaland / General / Who Is A True Leader? by chuksnwoga1: 1:17am On Sep 18, 2016
WHO IS A TRUE LEADER?

A true leader is the one that sacrifices, selfless, feels the pains of his subjects and tend to solve them.A true leader is a problem solver.
I know a true leader...
GEJ is a true leader ;"my ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian".
I know a true leader...
Chinua Achebe is a true leader;"one of the truest tests of integrity is its blunt refusal to be compromised".
I know a true leader...
Dalai Lama is a true leader;"where ignorance is our master, there is no possibility of real peace".
I know a true leader...
John f Kennedy was a true leader ;"the right of every man are diminished when the right of one man are threatened.
I know a true leader....
Sir Victor Umeh is a true leader;"our desire to make APGA great and become the party for every Nigerian comes before any personal interest"
I know a true leader. ..
Alh Sani Shinkafi is a true leader;" the interest of our people most always come first "
Alas!
What we see today are leaders who use the following words on their people: "recession is just a word","go and die","Nigerian eat too much rice, that's why it is expensive" etc
Again, some leaders become helpless and weep when their people are being attacked and killed. Some also describe members of their team as "charlatans","useless","never do well" just to gain cheap popularity. Which category of leader do you fall into or you intend to become? be a leader the builds not the one that destroys.

Nairaland / General / The Nigerian Youth: We Can Do It Again. by chuksnwoga1: 1:18pm On Aug 07, 2016
THE NIGERIAN YOUTH: WE CAN DO IT AGAIN....

Nigerian youths are talented....
Nigerian youths are blessed....
Nigerian youths are great people.

The independence of our country was fought and won by youths in their late 20s and early 30s. The template in which Nigeria became an entitity was designed by youths.
Gen. Yakubu Gowon (rtd ) was in his early 30s as head of state when he built the monuments you can find in the major cities across Nigeria with revenue generated from agriculture........the Nigerian youths are prudent and inventive.
Late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu was in his early 30s as the military governor of old Easter region. At that age,he was a lieutenant colonel in the Nigerian army........Nigerian youths are brilliant.
Most of the activities that went on in Nigeria during the pre and post independence era were powered and championed by youths.WHY WAS IT SO? Because they were groomed with the spirit of patriotism so their energies were channelled into inventions to build and develop the infant country,Nigeria. To them,Nigeria was first before self. They were equally opportuned to benefit from the mentoring of the colonial masters.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE PRESENT DAY NIGERIAN YOUTHS?

There have been a lot of disconnect. People now think about self, tribe, religion, zone, state etc which originated from successive bad leadership and political instability. Young people who are creative and innovative were completely abandoned and left to roam about without guidance. A nation cannot grow without all stakeholders coming together. It can still be connected......we can do it again.

HOW HAS THE PRESENT DAY NIGERIAN YOUTH FAIRED?
President Muhammadu Buhari was 32 when he was the governor of the old north eastern state. Presently,he is the president of Nigeria but he has not giving youths of this generation the chance/opportunity he was given then. Nevertheless, the present day Nigerian youth have not stopped pushing hard inspite the numerous challenges and impediments. The few that are privileged to be around power have really made the youths proud and demonstrated that yes"we can do it again".
-H.E Labaran Maku was made a commissioner for youths and sports in Nassarawa state in his 30s. His performance promoted him to become the deputy governor still in his 30s.
-Chief(sir) Victor Umeh, OFR, KSJ was made the national chairman of APGA as a youth. He fought so hard to keep APGA still in existence.
-Alhaji Sani Shinkafi(wambai Shinkafi) was in his 30s when he displayed quality leadership as the national secretary of APGA.
-Ozo Nwabueze Okafor was in his 30s when he was a LG chairman and eventually became the national president of ALGON were he fought tirelessly for local government in Nigeria.
-Osaro onaiwu was 23 when he was the special assistant to H.E Sam Ogbemudia former governor of old bendel state. That opened the door for several other political positions he attained.
-Mark Okoye is just 30 and the present commissioner for economic planning and budget development in Anambra state.just few months in office as commissioner,he has turned the economic fortune of Anambra state. Anambra now engage on massive export of commodities. Anambra is now prosperous.
These are Nigerian youths and there are many more out there that have excelled in different fields even in the mist of hardship....yes we can
Finally, I still believe in the saying that"youths are leaders of tomorrow and partners of today".in every sector, the wisdom of the elders and the energies of the youths are needed for meaningful growth which implied synergy. The youths of this generation needs mentoring. There is no institution around to mentor young people so I advice our leaders to adopt any young person they see a trait of leadership in him or her for mentoring and guidance. This will help build the Nigeria we all hope for. Neglect the youths, retard the growth and development of a nation......yes we can do it again.

Politics / Apga Is Built On Good Leadership by chuksnwoga1: 1:13pm On Jul 10, 2016
APGA IS BUILT ON GOOD LEADERSHIP
APGA IS the only political party in Nigeria that doesn't compromise with leadership and good governance.Anambra State is a typical example where governor Willie Obiano ensures that civil servants receives their salaries on the 25th of every month even in the present economic state of the country were his colleagues could no longer pay workers salary. His monumental projects are countless. He has indeed touched every sector one can think of.gov Obiano is always in the news for right things. Even with the scarce resources, every sector gets its adequate attention. That is prudence which APGA stands for. Just in barely 2year in office, he was announce the best governor of the year 2015.
Every leader in APGA before Obiano follows the same step.we yarn for good leaders in Nigeria and APGA IS the answer. Just like Obiano, OSARO ONAIWU will do the same in EDO. Alh Sani Shinkafi(wambai Shinkafi) has the APGA leadership prowess flowing in his veins and will rescue Zamfara come 2019. Same goes to Sir Victor Umeh(ohamadike) who gave APGA it's present status. Sir Umeh will not only be a strong voice to the people of Anambra central but for the entire igbo race. He is indeed bold, strong and courageous.
Nigerians should think APGA for the leadership we never had.

NIGERIAN YOUTHS, WHICH WAY?: THE CHALLENGES AND THE POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS

Abraham Lincoln in one of his notable quotes said" always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other".Shortly after independence, the Nigerian youth have not been given much role in the sociopolitical space in the Nigeria state.Recall that the founding fathers of this country that gave Nigeria it's template were youths in their late 20s and early 30s.Not much of those Nigerian dreams have been met by the elders in their 60s and 70s that took over power from these young and energetic Nigerians. One will be forced to ask, what happen to the Nigerian youths of today? The welfare of youths have been a topic for campaign by our elders in build up to elections and this same youths will be forgotten shortly after being elected.
I recall a certain incident in enugu state by the immediately past administration where over 170 youths were sent to songhai farms Benin republic to acquire some agric skills in a bid to empower them and thereafter train thousands of other youths to be self reliant.this youth program was sponsored by world bank but later became a charade. The idea was to build world class institutes at both Adani and heneke in enugu state but was completely abandoned and money diverted. Most of the youths involved who spent 6months of their lives for the training are yet to recover from the"kalo kalo". The then commissioner for agriculture, Dr olaedo stated and I quote "if you plant 1 hectare of ose Nsukka(Nsukka yellow pepper ),in 3months you will make #1 billion but I've not come across any market in enugu where ose Nsukka from olaedo farm is being sold. I call all that olaedoic abracadabra. Some youths in their late 30s and early 40s have done the state and nation proud. Chief John Nnia Nwodo(fmr information minister ), Frank Nweke Jr(fmr information minister ) and most recently Ozo Nwabueze Okafor (okpochengene).Ozo Okafor, when he was the L.G chairman of enugu south taught ndI enugu that a council chairman can actually do asphalt roads. He was subsequently elected the national president of ALGON were he brought in remarkable reforms and fought tirelessly for LG autonomy in Nigeria. He later contested for senate(enugu east) where these elders feared that he will floor their records if they allow him get to the senate.
In zamfara state, alhaji sani shinkafi(wambai ) who is a youth in his early 40s contested to be governor of that state and was stampeded by these elders who were intimidated by his towering profile.H.E Ayo Fayose became governor of ekiti state in his early 40s in 2003,he was impeached because he was changing the old order and his desire to build a new ekiti state.thanks to the judicially which quashed the kangaroo impeachment. these treatment towards the Nigerian youth most stop. Let's not forget that every society needs the wisdom of elders and energies of the youths. In that case, they are partners In progress. Few leaders like Gov Willie Obiano (akpokue dike ) and sir Victor Umeh OFR (Ohamadike) who understands that no meaningful development can be achieved without the youths have always prioritize the interest of youths In their dealings. Gov Obiano has 35% Youths In his present cabinet no wonder his developmental strides.

THE CHALLENGES:

Poverty is one of the notable challenges the Nigerian youth faces. They are being left at the mercy of these old politicians who employ their services every 4years as thugs and abandoned them thereafter. These leaders will always want to perpetuate themselves in power. Just like what is happening in enugu state where men and women who were federal lawmakers/commissioners when I was in JSS were recycled as commissioners and SPAs to the governor in 2015 which tells that the future will continue to be an illusion for the youths in the state.
There is no mentoring or succession plan in this part of the world and this possess a serious threat to our society.

POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS:

Nigerian youths should come together, look inward and shun vices to be able to fight this cankerworm. From statistics, youths constitutes 70% of our population and I think our size(number) should be our strength to right the wrongs we hate to see.
Some youths both in Nigeria and diaspora have given us reasons to smile even in the mist of suppression. Chuka Umunna and Helen Mukoro have made attempts to be prime minister /president of Britain and Spain respectively. Also recently, Daniel Dada Ayodele made 5.0 C.G.P.A in unilag. They are all Nigerian youths we are so proud of. You too can attain such feat.
Looking inward I mean, identifying your God-given potentials, develop it to benefit you and your immediate environment. Government are overwhelmed by the growing number of youths in the country and can't give jobs to everybody. I strongly advice that while In school, youths should try and acquire at least a skill on what is trendy in your locality, perfect on it and become your own boss on graduation. This will give the youth a sense of independence and propel you to continue to push for your dream. You Will be too busy to be hired as a thug during elections. Remember, these elders will never hire their wards/relations as thugs. Again, I stand to be corrected. No thug have been elected the president of any country,no thief /criminal have been elected a governor,no ill educated youth will be able to address the United Nations General Assembly just like little Yousfzai Malala did with ease.
Youths should form youth cells /groups in their localities where they will discuss leadership as it affects them. They should try and pick /support one of them for elective positions at any level and by so doing, youths will vote themselves into power and help solve the perennial problems confronting youths.
Finally, education should be the strongest tool to prepare any youth for leadership. One should endeavour to equip himself/herself with the basic education that will sustain you at any point in your career. The leadership of political parties national youth leaders forum and the special assistant to the president On youths and students affairs are presently In Talks to bring out ways to reposition the Nigerian youth in the Nigerian space. Also, the office of the national youth leader of APGA is working on affirmative action for youths under certain age bracket and criterias to run for political offices In our platform.
.........Nigeria will be great again.God bless us all.
Long live APGA!
Long live Nigerian youths!!
Long live the federal Republic of Nigeria!!!

Politics / Gov Obiano;the Full Apga Package by chuksnwoga1: 7:43am On Jun 23, 2016
GOV WILLIE OBIANO ;THE FULL APGA PACKAGE
His Excellencu Chief Willie OBIANO is indeed what APGA really represents. He has been nicknamed "the alert governor" going by the fact that he pays civil servants 25th of every month. It is on record that he is the only governor in Nigeria that is consistent with the payment of workers salary.he has also set the pace in job creation and youth empowerment.he commissioned the state maintenance agency and ordered the employment of hundreds of youths across the 3 senatorial zones in Anambra state.
Gov OBIANO has always shown that he is a youth friendly governor by appointing Mark Okoye,a 30years old youth as a commissioner in his cabinet. we say thank you sir for always remembering the youths. This has boosted the Not Too Young To Run Bill at the NASS. This is indeed the APGA vision.APGA remains the party for the Nigeria of our dream.Don't be left out in this movement. up APGA!!
