vickyehi: Not necessarily. Your 2years contract can actually be in just one place. So you are not going from one hospital to another. WESTWAYS actually has acute care hospital contracts now, so you can be placed in medsurg, tele, PCU, ICU, ER etc for your 2 year duration. But you will earn more than the pay of the other agencies.
Ok. Thanks for the response and the response you gave to others. You're helping to keep this thread alive. Do they assist in pre-nclex and transportation/ lodging for the nclex or is it for nclex passers? The visa wahala to South Africa is something else. Airfares to Philippines is on top of the roof. Thanks once more.
bivoprad: From my personal experience- Westway, O'Grady, avant are not taking nigerian nurses without Nclex Shearwaters do not take nurses without BNSC. I suggest applying to those agencies tho and get their response because they treat individual case differently If you have your NCLEX, i really recommendconnecticsUSA.
bivoprad: Yes, it is possible. CGFNS exam and IELTS will be used to issue visascreen certificate which is needed for the immigration purpose, then on getting to the USA, you can sit for your NCLEX, pass and become USRN . That is what most agency are doing now for Nigerian nurses that already signed their contract because its difficult for them to secure visa to travel to write the NCLEX. Because of this difficulty in securing visa, some of them are not even taking nigerian nurses without NCLEX.
[You are joking right? Well they are not qualified to work in Nigeria too. Case closed. author=Oladoyinipede post=104701355]Are registered nurses trained in schools of nursing qualified to seek jobs overseas?[/quote]
post=102583411: I was looking at resources on relocating and i saw this on youtube. I think it was helpful and i decided to share since we all have the same goal
nkayj: Hi family I need your kind suggestions. I decided to try agent sponsored route to usa.i applied to 3 agencies (shearwater, interstaff and avant) just to spread my tentacles and choose anyway that works. Am yet to be scheduled for clinical interview in avant, I have been scheduled for interview by shearwater in few weeks time. Am through with interstaff and I have been sent a contract to sign . Please nurses who used this route what can you advice am basically confused. I have a timeline of 28days to sign the said contract. I need your input guys.
I'm assuming you already aced NCLEX. If so Shearwater would have been a better choice.
tolajay: Says who? Oya reach out na they'll tell you that they are being monitored by the regulator. So name which one that is passively recruiting. They are but they're not actively advertising and recruiting Nigerians (no poaching again).
However, if you reach out to them with your credentials, they'll assess you and give you a placement of qualified.

Juddy2018: Hello house , please In this new UK NMC registration ,where you can use your training in lieu of IELTS or OET, has anyone succeeded from Nigeria?.I just passed my CBT. And my platform on NMC registration is remaining OSCE, I will be required to upload my transcripts. and three other documents for my final completion of registration. Please is it only nursing transcripts or both with midwifery transcripts?. Those who have insight on this please I help me. Thanks
Nigeria is not part of such countries whereby training or working in English waives IELTS or OET. Meanwhile how long did your GOOD STANDING from nmc take?
barbiee: @sumbzie78, @babyyo8, @cyrilade01, @Yugotee I sent you CBT materials as requested.
About the licence verification as an intern Nurse, I spoke to NMC uk about this issue recently and they said you can start your UK registration as soon as you pass your Nursing council exam. However, I have come to understand that NMCN might not want to send your license verification immediately you finish school but I'm not entirely sure if NMCN will refuse to give NMC UK your records when they request for it so it is worth a try, you can also try to get a letter from your school to claim that you have passed the Nursing council exam if NMCN refuse to send your verification and see if that makes a difference. If that doesnt work then my advice would be to start studying for and Writing the IELTS exam in the meantime.
If you want to be a midwife in the UK, you need to register for CBT midwifery, midwifery jobs are hard to get but not impossible, there are also few study materials Available for CBT midwifery. Unfortunately I dont have any. If anyone has materials for CBT midwifery please send them to me too. Thanks in advance.
If you did the 18 months Nursing program and you want to be an Adult Nurse in the UK, you only need to verify your 18 months Nursing qualification. You also need to inform NMCN and your school to send a letter to NMC UK saying your 18 months nursing program qualifies you to be a Registered Nurse.
@chuksozy if you have the funds then in my opinion relocating with your family at the same time is a good idea. Apart from the fact that you get everything done together as a family e.g visa, flights, gp registration etc, your wife will be more stable mentally to deal with the pressures of a new workplace and a new lifestyle. Living in a new country can be very stressful, intimidating and lonely. Avoid it if you can.
@MrsAnn thank you for defending @Bluebeard, you couldn't have said it better. We are all here to learn and mistakes are inevitable, I'm also learning from you guys here and most of the comments I read are enough to see me smiling through the day. I expecially laughed loud and long when bluebeard called vickyehi an auxiliary. I was like "what? You did not just say that!" Anyway, Thank you vicky for your diplomatic and intelligent answers and thank you @Auschris for clearing that misconception about Avant. It is nice to see you back on the thread.
Happy Nurses week to all the friends I haven't met yet, that includes you too! Please Stay safe during this pandemic.
Seun: Perhaps it is time to hand over the NCDC to someone who can scale the organization to the size required to eradicate a fast-moving virus from a country with 190m residents? We are tired of listening to excuses as we waste away at home. Hand it over to someone who has experience with running a very large organization. I don’t even care if the person is an epidemiologist at this point. Just someone who can grasp the scope of the challenge and is willing and able to obtain and effectively utilize the massive resources needed to tackle it. Enough with the failures and excuses.
Dr Ihekweazu is a competent epidemiologist. Read about him.

The fact that you're comfortable wearing a trouser like your husband doesn't mean those against it are wrong or dum. b... It is what they believe and whether some will go to hell is no one business to judge...
The only problem is: It will be too late to change your believe by the time the truth is unveiled.. be it skirt or trouser or wrapper or hijab or gown or scarf or brazillian or togolese..
