SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Chukwuemeka007(m):
I never thought that this game will make me come out of my ghost mode after nearly two years of ardent followership.

First of, I think the stern attacks on Rohr's person, intellect and coaching tactics is way out of proportion though I'm not absolving him of any wrongdoings.

We played a team who had their backs against the wall (a loss would put them on a bad position) in front of their home crowd. It's expected they do the initial gra-gra stuff.

If not for poor officiating, we were 3-1 winners. We also tend to forget the altitude issues over there resulting to a thin layer of oxygen. "overdoing" yourself will lead to early gassing out. I think it was Ecuador that thrashed Argentina 6 nil in a world cup qualifier played in Quito (a place of high altitude and low atmospheric pressure. A few Argentine players even fainted on that day)

We have taken to commonizing qualifying for the AFCON because Rohr qualified us forgetting that we failed to qualify on two occasions back-to-back even as defending champions in 2015. Our African Guardiola and our Special One couldn't.

For the first I'm seeing the Super Eagles qualify for the World Cup and AFCON without needing calculators nor praying for the downfall of another team though we faced though oppositions. PS I'm in my early 20s can't say about the 90s.

Even if we go ahead to win the AFCON some of us will still come here to say:

"forget he won the AFCON, Rohr can't take us anywhere. He's inept and by the way what's AFCON for a whole Nigeria?" forgeting that a "whole" Ghana last won a trophy in 1982 (pls correct me if I'm wrong) and not even an Avram Grant could get them another.

We exalt the way SA played saying they had "free-flowing and sexy game". But I'm 100% sure that if the SE played same yesterday we would still come here to say

"the team played rubbish, all runnings and not bite, no shots and no final balls just headless chicken runs and long irrelevant balls"

All I'm saying is this: Yes, coach Rohr isn't 100% of what we desire in a coach but he's giving us results! results! he's doing his job. so these over-blown criticisms and insults are funny to me. Asides the unfortunate loss to SA, we're unbeaten against African oppositions.

On a final note, to those prophets of doom who drop doomsday prophecies before our matches just so they can come back after the match to say "didn't I say it?" una weldone, more grease to your keypads.

Some are already predicting a Quarter final last bus stop for the SE for a competition that will commence in 7 months' time. SMH

Same way some started singing before the World cup that "Nigeria will not win or draw Argentina" and they came here to say the "didn't I tell you?"

Some say: with the array of talents at Rohr's disposal, we shouldn't be struggling at all so at that Rohr should be shown the exit door. I wonder what'd have happened to the coaches of Germany, Portugal and Spain following their early exit from the WC despite their "sexy and sleek football" plus huge arsenal of talents if they were Nigerians or employees of the NFF.

Happy Sunday fam! please pardon my long epistle

They have a habit of postponing, first it was the aptitude test now interview.

I think it is more related to the upcoming industrial action by NLC, TUC and organized labour than the security as claimed
Exactly, the impending strike action seems to be the major reason.

In Lagos, both the aptitude test and interviews were also postponed. The interviews were postponed due to the closure of the 3rd mainland bridge back then in August

Again? When was the first postponement?

I know it sounds implausible but the nature of the questions makes it difficult to remember that's why no one has given a comprehensive hint.

Just be prepared for an IQ test. Case study kinda questions.

Speed and accuracy will be highly needed plus endurance.

That's how it's been. I read through this thread from page 1. Earlier recruitments (those done this year) followed same pattern. After the Level 1&2 interviews, the next stage is the CEO chat

Alright. I think that message received yesterday was meant to be sent before the mails for interviews were dished out.

The mail clearly says "successful in the ability test" and the subject of the mail points to ability test.

I'm saying this because successful candidates from the Aug 2nd test were not notified of their success, all they got was interview mails.

What's next is the CEO Chat after the level 1& 2 interviews

Yea, I received mine yesterday. My only confusion is this 0600hr. 0600hr is 5am Nigeria time
0600 hrs is 6AM in the morning.

04:00 GMT is 5AM Nigerian time, which is 0500hrs.

Hrs has nothing to do with Nigerian time, it's the military time system. Don't mix things up.

It is not late to collect the original exemption certificate.

cc: Mrs Kemi Adeosun
She's not entitled to an Exemption Certificate.

Reason: She graduated before age 30.

Solution: It's either she serves or get a waiver (pardon) from the presidency (which is unlikely).

I see a lot of over 30 years in NYSC how come. I was told you can do it even if you are over 30 years. I want nysc but am over 30
You can't be mobilized if you are 30 years and above as at the time of graduation.

On the other hand, if you graduated before age 30, you MUST serve irrespective of your age as at the time of commencement of orientation camp. Those who fall in this category are those whose institutions delayed their mobilization or those who willingly deferred their mobilization at an earlier point in time.

To those who look over 30 and still serving, it's either they falsified their age or they fall in category two above

This is a very good exposé.
what this means is that on her return to the country, she must have found out that she was not entitled to an exemption and instead of serving, she decided to get a fake certificate after all this is Nigeria.
I for one never believed the story that people she trusted procured her a fake paper.
Exactly. Then she jejely resigned because she knows further investigations will show she isn't qualified for it. Plus it'll tarnish her image in the UK where she's a citizen

Pls spare this woman, she's already above the law,
Above the law? Really? Well I just want to set things straight because most people think the problem hinges on her being scammed with a fake cert not knowing that she's not entitled to the Exemption Certificate in the first place.
PoliticsWas Kemi Adeosun Qualified To Apply For NYSC Exemption Certificate? by Chukwuemeka007(op):
Following the recent drama and intrigues associated with the fake NYSC certificate scandal that led to the resignation of Kemi Adeosun as finance minister, I looked up what the NYSC Act has to say.

In accordance with the National Youth Service Corps Decree 1993 section 2 subsection (1) it is stipulated that;

"With effect from 1st August, 1985, a person shall NOT be called upon to serve in the service corps if, at the date of graduation or obtaining his diploma or other professional qualification" :

1. He is over the age of thirty (30) years

2. He has served in the Armed Forces of the Federation or the Nigeria Police Force for a period of more than nine months; or

3. He is a member of staff of any of the following:

The Nigerian Security Organization or

The State Security Service, or

The National Intelligence Agency or

The Defence Intelligence Service

4. He has been conferred with any National Honour.

These categories of persons are therefore exempted from service and issued with the Certificates of Exemption.

With these, I think we've been asking the wrong questions. According to the law, Since Kemi Adeosun graduated below the age of 30 and not being a member of the above listed security apparatuses, she had no right to apply for an Exemption from the mandatory service year in the first place. Studying here in Nigeria or Abroad (as in her case) clearly attracts no special considerations for exemption.

All I'm saying is Kemi Adeosun did not meet the requirements of the law to apply for or to be granted an NYSC Exemption Certificate. The only alternative is her undergoing the scheme or given a presidential pardon for exclusion.

Then, her so called "Exemption Certificate" is INADMISSIBLE and not FAKE because she's not entitled to a real or legit one.

These are my thoughts from my findings. Please feel free to drop yours.

SportsJoshua Family Want Sagamu Street Named After World Boxing Champion by Chukwuemeka007(op): 4:02pm On Oct 29, 2017
By Bamidele Boluwaji:

Following the victory of Nigerian-born British
heavyweight boxer Anthony Oluwafemi Joshua
over Cameroon’s Carlos Takam in Saturday’s
IBF world title fight in Cardiff, Wales, the family
of the Sagamu-born champion have called on
the Ogun State Government to name a street
after their son, Completesportsnigeria.com
reports.

World champion Joshua, before 76,600
spectators in Cardiff, technically knocked out a
resilient Takam in the 10th round of the bout to
retain his title, bringing his career record to 20
victories in 20 fights. Speaking to Completesportsnigeria.com in Sagamu shortly after the fight that was beamed live for the people of the boxer’s hometown by Kwese Pay TV, Joshua’s uncle Mr David Oyedola Joshua said he appreciates the support of every Nigerian but wants more.

“We are all happy with our son’s victory over
Takam, so much has been said about it and we
are glad that it ended in victory for us,”
Oyedola told Completesportsnigeria.com in
Sagamu Saturday night. “We appreciate the support of the Ogun State government but we are making a passionate appeal that they should change the name of the street where our family house is located at Cinema Road to Anthony Joshua Street, so that his name will not be forgotten forever.”

The fight was beamed live at the Sagamu City
Hall by Kwese Pay TV, with over 500 boxing
enthusiasts in attendance to give their support
to Joshua. The spectators also sang in Yoruba from the beginning of the fight to the end in support of Joshua whom many said has brought more fame to the family and the city of Sagamu.
Meanwhile, Oyedola has called on the youths to
emulate the 27-year-old boxer by working hard
and shelve any act of indiscipline.
