Fineman2: I need some help from doctors in the house
My mum complained of severe headache last week Wednesday morning, but she was able to move around on her own, infact she cooked the food we ate that same day, she said she did not feel anything in one part of her brain down to leg which is a sign of stroke
we bought some drugs from pharmacy and she took them the evening of that Wednesday, but by Thursday she couldn't talk and walk on her own without support, you just can't understand anything she says till this moment, she doesn't recognize anybody
we took her to hospital on Friday morning to run some tests and she was admitted, her blood was taken for test, result came out and the hospital commenced treatment, her BP was very high then but it has come down.
The doctor said my mom has serious typhoid which might have triggered the current condition
My question now is, can typhoid cause this kind of situation? Is this a stroke or arthritis because she can't move her two legs
We are planning to bring her home because there's no improvement since we we took her to hospital, except her BP that dropped, more tests will be conducted outside and we are considering using herbal drugs for the treatment of stroke and typhoid together with other supplements.
Nlfpmod mynd44 Your mom has had a stroke. Have you got a brain CT scan done? Take her away from that useless roadside hospital that's treating her for Typhoid and take her to a standard hospital, preferably a teaching hospital or FMC. |

FreeStuffsNG: It's already day break at 6:30a.m in Lagos. As a matter of fact, you are already in thick bumper-to-bumper hold up traffic on 3rd Mainland bridge at that time on some days of the week sef.
6:30a.m is fine but much older relatives can accompany them. It's no big deal. Only lazy people have issues with meeting very important genuine appointments at any time of the day. Ofcourse, anyone who supported the clueless Buhari and is currently supporting the calamitous T-pain and his party can suppport anything in this world! What tremendous change has happened in Nigeria when some of us wrote this same JAMB in 2001 at 9am and not that these kids have to sit for it at 6:30am? Is the security situation of the country better now than then?? Why 6:30am? Because they're using Lagos where people are suffering by waking and going to work at 4am as a case study?? |

Jokes apart, the typical black African man is something else, especially we Nigerians. You try to save them from one situation, boom! They embrace another one by themselves..
The problem a typical black man has today, is the one he invited by himself, through his warped thoughts and thoughtless actions and inactions- YoungLionKen... Gbam! |

Love800: I appreciate so much.
That nurse story and your hostel story of guiter playing at night is so scary!
About my hostel and cockroach, the number of cockroach normally in a home/house is not much comparing to our hostel. And at home, is not everytime cockroaches do come. But in the case of our hostel, every night! When we spray the room dat evening, they won't come, but if you did not spray insecticide, they must come and in large numbers, you can't even find sleep, till you have killed alot! Tell me, is it every night someone will be using insecticide for cockroach! It was damn crazy! If they were ''spiritual'' cockroaches, do you think insecticides would be able to chase or scare them away?? I guess you're talking about those tiny cockroaches; aren't you? They can emerge in millions at night and are always difficult to control. You guys are very superstitious |

hatchy: Until you find a job where there is vacancies you won't understand what workers experience at night.
This universe did not just exist from the void like that, there was a force that kicked started it all before a reaction. That FORCE is GOD! And he disappeared after kick starting it, such that his presence is no longer being felt even after his followers fast for 100 days and 100 nights, pray, roll on the floor and even injure themselves? If you're to be very sincere to yourself, with all the things happening in this world, would you say there's any caring God controlling this world |

You people will just be saying things you have limited knowledge about.
If the building will collapse it will be either the beams, columns or footings failed.
Parapet isn't a load bearing structural members. Don't mind them. This is one of the big problems here on Nairaland where you have people rushing to give advice on fields they have no professional knowledge and experience in. |

It's alright o What do you mean by subsidized school fees?? How much should it have been in a 3rd world country with poor minimum wage, low average wages and low purchasing power?? Don't you know most of our parents sold their properties to be able to train their children? And does this subsidized school fees only apply to medical graduates? Why is it not being used when talking about graduates from other disciplines? Enough of this bullsh!t! |

Family › Re: 10 Rules For Every Family Leader by ChybuzzDD(m): 6:16am On Apr 24, 2025 |
ogyunging: 1. Protect the energy: You’re the emotional thermostat. If you’re calm, the room settles. If you’re chaotic, the room burns. Master yourself first. 2. Have a vision: Families without vision drift. Know what kind of family you’re building; your values, your standards, your direction. Speak it often. 3. Lead with service, not ego: Real leadership is sacrifice. You’re not above your family, you serve them. wash dishes, take blame, show up even when tired. 4. Be the safest place: Your presence should mean peace. Your spouse and kids shouldn’t fear your reactions. Be a shelter, not a storm. 5. Keep promises, big or small: Trust dies in broken details. If you say “I’ll be there at 7”, be there. Leadership lives in reliability. 6. Make tough calls: The leader eats the risk. When hard decisions arise, step up. You’ll be blamed if it fails-lead anyway. 7. Don’t outsource values: Culture starts at home. Teach your kids about money, discipline, kindness. If you don’t the internet will. 8. Learn how to fight: Disagreements are inevitable. Resentment is optional. Fight clean: No yelling, no character attacks, no public shame. Remove, don’t destroy. 9. Create rituals: Rituals are the glue of legacy. Weekly dinners, Sunday hikes, bedtime talks-small routines build unbreakable bonds. 10. Play the long game: Family is forever-treat it that way. Skip the short dopamine hits. Invest in memories, patience and deep connection. The ROI is infinite. You don’t need to be perfect. Just present. Just growing. Just grounded. The strongest families are led by the softest hearts and clearest minds. credit X @wealth_director That first line is not completely true with today's wives. Most times, it's even when you're calm they'll set the room on fire. |
