It's not really because of breakup. I mean... I initiated the break-up. So..

The thing is, I've come to realize that im more at peace when I'm not in a relationship than when I'm in one. At least, I can think straight and focus better on my job than having one guy disturbing me with calls, monitoring my movement and always wanting me around him.

That means you're a cheat too. You don't want somebody to monitor you but you monitor other people. Imagine!

Education / Re: OAU: The Most Beautiful Estate Among Nigerian Universities by chyke4u(m): 7:51pm On Jul 31, 2016
datola:
Wow! More please..

No doubt OAU, Ife is an architectural master piece coupled with very RIGOROUS academic system. This fact is stated on their prospectus.

If you are not well above average and sure of yourself don't try Ife.

Have you come across a true Ife graduate under performs at any task. It will be very hard to find.

The only university named Great Ife by another university (UI).

When the late great sage (only Nigerian, dead or a life with that appellation) Awolowo and Co mooted idea the idea of university of Ife in the sixties it was to be a university for the gifted. That's why best egg heads were assembled to kick start it. World renowned professors Hezekiah Oluwasanmi, Ajose, Aluko, Aboyade kicked started the great citadel of learning. Wole Soyinka joined later and bagged his professorship and nobel lauret in 1986 as head of dramatic arts. What about Ola Rotimi, Osofisan, to mention just but a few.

If not for too much students/staff activism, no university in Nigeria would have competed with Ife in any objective international ranking.

University of Ife was built and owned by the Western states but later transformed to FG school. That was when the decline started because of lack of proper funding.

People should stop castigating our universities for ranking low world wide when there is little or no money to run them. Harvard university endowment fund alone is in tens of billions of dollars and this is useful in attracting the best brains in the workd to the institution. Number of Nobel Lauret in a university is an important part of
what they use to rank. Harvard has the highest in this regard.

Great Ife!

The first university in sub Saharan Africa to carry out a successful separation of conjoined twins and the first university in Nigeria to perform the successful kidney transplant. They were all carried out by the university indigenous staff.

Politics / Nigeria's Greatest Head Of State. by chyke4u(m): 8:56pm On Sep 15, 2013
MY TOP 3 NIGERIA'S GREATEST LEADERS

1.)
GENERAL YAKUBU GOWON 1966-1975
He was till date Nigeria's youngest head of state. Fondly called "Jack" by his admirers, Gen Gowon is to Nigeria what Abraham Lincoln is to America and what Winston Churchill is to Great Britain. Gowon was a war hero. He guided Nigeria to conquer the seceding Biafra. He is the symbol of Nigeria's unity. A man of decision and purpose, his government laid the foundation of many yet-to-come policies and projects and also built more infrastructures than any administration we have ever had.

HIGHPOINTS

>Prevention of Nigeria's disintegration; An unparalleled achievement. The manner, and the decisiveness of the leadership of General Gowon at the time of the civil war was crucial to stopping the oil-rich eastern region from seceding, thus the Nigerian entity was maintained.

>Division of Nigeria into states. Gowon created 12 states to address the political imbalance and the agitation of ethnic minorities for autonomy.

>the establishment of the National Youth Service Corp [NYSC]

>massive investment in education: the government increased the tally of federal universities from 4 to 12. Built the following universities: Uniben, Uniport, unilorin, unical, unijos, Unimaid, Bayero University, and Usman Danfodio university.

>Introduction of the Naira currency

>Promulgation and implementation of the indeginization decree which reduced foreign ownership of Nigeria's economy and enabling Nigerians to acquire stakes in foreign Nigerian multinationals

>Refocusing Nigeria's foreign policy to be African-oriented and non-aligned to world ideological blocs

>Changing from left-hand drive to right-hand drive

>Enlistment of Nigeria as an OPEC member

>Founding of Ecowas

>Build national stadium, Eko bridge-the 2nd longest in Nigeria, third mainland bridge-the longest in Nigeria and in the whole of Africa, Tafawa Balewa square(Race course), Festac housing quarters, National theater, trade fair complex, Lagos-Ibadan expressway, Badagry expressway, Benin-ore expressway, Dodan Barack, rehabilitation of Onitsha river Niger bridge, Apapa wharf and many others so numerous.

2.)
GENERAL OLUSEGUN OBASANJO 1976-79, 1999-2007
General Obasanjo was the only person to have ruled Nigeria both as a democratically elected leader and as a military head of state. A quintessential reformer, he has restructured government organs than any Nigerian ruler dead or alive.
HIGHPOINTS
> Establishment of NNPC

>Establishment of NTA

>Hosted FESTAC 77

>First successful transition of power to civilian rule.

>Introduction of land use decree

>Built Warri refinery

> Consolidation of banks to strengthen the banking sector

>Liberalisation of the telecom sector paving way for the GSM revolution

>Liquidation of Nigeria's external debt which was valued $30b; a feat in Africa.

>Shoring up of the external reserve from $3 to $35b

>Deregulation of the downstream oil subsector

>Under his rule the economic growth averaged 6% and the GDP jumped to $1500 from $350 in year 1999

>Privatization of moribund public corporation such National oil, Nigeria Union Dicon Salt, Benue Cement Company, etc

>Introduction of N100, N200, N500 denominations

>Establishment of anti-graft agencies notably EFCC and ICPC.

3.)
GENERAL MUHAMMAD BUHARI 1983-1985
If there's any government that had zero tolerance for corruption it is the regime of Gen. Buhari. He brought sanity to the polity and made that corrupt politicians were brought to book.

HIGHPOINTS

>Arrest, trial and detention of government looters, an action which was highly applauded by Nigerians

> Total war on corruption

> Introduction of environmental sanitation exercise which is in still practice till date

>Establishment of the War Against Indiscipline (WAI) program which was highly effective in curbing unruly social behaviours and attitudes towards national life

> Reduction of Importation by placing embargo on the importation of unnecessary commodities
