AutoMoTech:
thanks for the feedback.
there is a relay that is used to control your throttle. check the relay, if faulty fix. you can just swap with a good one, test, clear code and see if the codes goes away or comes back. if its not relay then its probably in the wiring.
also i'ld love to ask, after fixing the coolant sensor wiring, have you noticed any difference in fuel consumption?
To be honest no much difference in fuel consumption but from related studies I found out that a defective electronic control throttle system could be another reason for the high fuel consumption and that's why I want to get that fixed then evaluate the overall fuel consumption of the ride.

Ok. You're welcome
Dear AutoMoTech
so I got the Engine coolant temperature circuit 2 issue sorted out. it was a loosed wiring dangling beneath the radiator. got the vehicle re scanned and error code was off.

Though the only code coming out this time around is P1659 ETCS control relay malfunction off. please how can I get this sorted out.

Thanks

Good morning black bishop

I noticed once I put on my car ignition my both fans start spinning even on cold morning and when the AC is off.

I scanned the car and got a code that had to do with engine temperature sensor circuit 2 low. could that be a factor while both fans are always on. This also affects gas mileage

secondly can I have the price for front shocks toks, back brake linning and rear bushings. it's a civic 06

Thanks

AutoMoTech:
Have you fixed the engine coolant temperature issue? If not your engine is running in open loop. That is the PCM is not correcting fuel injection, rather it is constantly running in open loop since the PCM does not know if the engine is running at operating temperature or not. Kindly fix the engine coolant temperature issue and lets move from there. But I strongly believe thats the cause of your problem.
No it has not been fixed. I would get that fixed as soon as the lock down is eased then revert back thanks and God bless

dear AutoMo Tech
my Honda civic 06 drinks fuel like shark in an ocean. worthy to mention is I recently changed the catalyst converter and also bought a new exhaust pot. the mechanic confirmed my 02 sensor in good shape when carrying out the replacement. but the fuel consumption is still very high. the last time I scanned the vehicle I had two codes which had to do with engine coolant temperature circuit low and a faulty transmission. I have had the transmission rebuilt by an expert which has not giving me any cause for worry in the meantime. what could be the possible cause of this high fuel consumption

My Honda Accord jerks when i accelerate in forward(d4), and also after moving out of gear 2 it seems to get at selecting gear.

After meeting with two different mechanic, one said that i need to change the entire gear box which he said cost around 65k because he said the fiber is damaged(melted) that no repair change fix the problem. The other said, i should change transmission oil and service the gear sensor.

Which of this mechanic should i go with?
Sir were you able to rectify this and how did it go

Good evening Blackbishop
Thanks for creating such an informative thread and also wish you could suggest something here....
My civic 06 usually jerks when changing gear from 1 to 2 and I had the D light blinking. Recently when I put the gear on D it moves for some split second and stop while the engine revs high but the reverse gear works fine. I got a mechanic who changed the transmission oil but the problem persists. I had to get the vehicle scanned and it pulled out P0776 stating pressure control solenoid B performance or stuck off. What could be the possible implication of this and way forward thanks.

Hello MotorGuru
My Honda civic 06 would not move on D but will on reverse and I also have the D lite blinking. I got a mechanic who changed the oil yet the problem persists. Dear AutoMo Tech
I drive a 2006 civic and usually the vehicle jerks when changing from gear one to two. Most recently I also had the D light blinking and the vehicle won't move when on D but moves on reverse. I got the car scanned and the error code it pulled was P0776 pressure control solenoid B performance or stuck off. I would like to understand the implication of this code and way out thanks
Car TalkRe: Sienna Transmission Issue by ciggy000(m): 7:47pm On Apr 03, 2020
I think I'm having this same issue with my civic 06. I got a mechanic who told me I need to change my gear box even without running any diagnosis on the vehicle. I got a guy who scanned the vehicle and it pulled a P0776 error code stating pressure control solenoid. I'm just waiting for the lock down to be over to test and be sure my pressure control solenoid are in good shape before contemplating getting a new gear box. Most mechanics are quick to say change your gear box without checking other underlying causes and if those causes are not addressed even a brand new gear box won't work. I suggest you run a scan cos your problem may not even be your gear box.

Mrford:
Drain your atf and open the transmission bottom plate, check for dirt. If there is too much dirt like metallic particles, go buy new gear. If the opposite change the atf and see how it goes.
What if the pressure control solenoid is faulty would buying a new gear resolve the issue

Dear Mrford
My Honda civic will always jerk when shifting gear from 1 to 2 and I had my D indicator light blinking. Lately when put on D the vehicle would just rev high without moving. I got the vehicle scanned and it pulled out P0776 pressure control solenoid B performance or stuck off. What's the implication of this code

op my 06 civic would jerk while changing gear from 1 to 2 and had the D indicator light on the dashboard started blinking. Most recently when I put it on D the car just revs high without moving. I got a mechanic who serviced the transmission sensor and changed the oil but the problem persisted. Got the vehicle scanned and it pulled out a P0776 code stating pressure control solenoid B performance. Right now I'm confused as the mechanic is saying I may have to replace the gear box as it is caused by a damaged fibre. Please I need your candid advice

Replace gear, most likely fluid has changed color and that is because the fibres are burnt
