Guysss I went for my interview today and I got my Visa!!!! I went last year to renew and I got denied. Don’t worry my transcript will come up in 3days
For now here’s the transcript I posted last year from the denial

I finally had my 221g interview on the 30th of April. I was denied.
I had applied for renewal via Dropbox on the 25th of February 2019, got my passport back on the 25th of March 2019. I started the search for dates and finally got 30th April. I would have been 36+ weeks at that date but I had no other choice than to wait.
As God will have it my water broke on the 27th of April and baby came within minutes.

I still thought to go for the interview and so on the 30th I did. Transcript below:

VO: Hello, Passport please
Me: Hi (hands over passport)
VO: why do you want to go to the US?
Me: Z had initially planned to go have my baby but she came early, so now I’d just love to go on vacation sometime in the summer.
VO: are you married?
Me: yes
VO: how many kids do you have?
Me: 2 babies now (smiling)
VO: (straight faced all this while, not even one eye contact) when did you get married?
Me: 2 years ago *mentions date*
VO: what’s your husband’s date of birth
Me: *mentions date of birth*
VO: what does he do?
Me: He works at bla bla
VO: how long do you intend spending in the IS
Me: 6 weeks ( that’s what I had on my ds160)
VO: you had one of your babies in the US?
Me: yes
VO: what do you do?
Me: I work at bla bla
VO: what’s your husband’s travel history
Me: UK, US, China, Spain, Italy, South Africa (went blank cos I lost count, then I told her there are a couple others- I have lost count)
VO: nods, how about you?
Me: US, Spain, Italy, SA, Greece. (At this point I was beginning to loose interest, she was typing for long inbtw questions, not even one eye contact, my mind had drifted to my new born at home already lol)
VO: please confirm your husband’s date of birth again?
Me: *mentions*
VO: sorry at this point you do not qualify for the visa, u are welcome to reapply at any other time and possibly the VO reviewing your application might be convinced otherwise.
Me: thank you (nods in agreement, collects yellow paper)
At this point she looks up for the 1st time, suddenly raises eyebrow and goes soft with a smile.
Me: *takes my leave*

Note: I was never asked for my itemized bills, I had paid in full, no discounts and I used an expensive hospital in Maryland.
My husband was refused a UK visa for a business travel and I am assuming that I might’ve been denied the US visa based on that too, going with how she kept on questioning me about my husband like she was trying to confirm he was actually the one.

Anyways for now I am fully occupied and focused on baby. I will reapply sometime in future, we will probably apply again for a UK visa before we try the US again.

For the sake of those on the journey of clinching two certificates or more. I called the NACETEM Lagos Centre and apparently they are currently taking in applications for the next session commencing in January. Thank me later lol.

I am new on the train and I have started reading up from previous threads. God bless everyone for this kind act of giving back.

I have a question, I am not sure it has been answered previously tho as I am yet to see.

I did the CRS point simulation with me as principal applicant and I noticed that I had more points as to my husband being principal applicant. This is because he is 9yrs older and I am in my late 20s.
Although he has an MBA from the US and I am just using my BSc.

My question is, when it gets to Proof of funds most of our funds are in my husband’s name. If I apply as principal applicant will I need to have the funds in my name? Or can I also present the funds in my husband’s name?

Sorry about it, i am wondering why she asked for your hubby date of birth twice... was it maybe filled wrongly? Then i think the no of weeks you intend to spend .. maybe if you had said 3 weeks or so since baby is here.

His date of birth was filled correctly. I had stated him as main sponsor for the trip, he was recently denied a UK visa renewal on the ground that they were not convinced about his economic ties so with the way she was asking questions about him, I just felt like she probably had access to that info and was trying to tie both profiles together.

Although I didn’t think it thru before mentioning the 6 weeks. I am not sure that would have been the deal breaker tho as I have stated 3 months before on my previous renewal application form for vacation and it was approved. I may be wrong tho.

Sorry about that. The 6 weeks though, why didn't you readjust it since plans have changed?

Honestly that answer just jumped out of my mouth as that was what I had filled initially. It was after I had said it that it occurred to me that could have readjusted since intent has also changed.

Well with the little or no time I had to process my application all over again I knew it was a game of chance.

I am having the same problems ooo, all the hospitals I have contacted only gave me price estimates to, they said they don’t send email correspondence ooo... I can’t even find a doctor to give me appointment too! Pls sis, can you share with me the doctor that gave you appointment letter so I can contact them too? I need one pls

They’re based in Maryland tho. You will have to make full payment before they can send your appointment and travel letter. I didn’t have any problems with that as it’s the same OBGYN that delivered my 1st baby. I asked if it’s refundable and they said yes. You can PM me for their details.

Maybe its out of frustration after spending almost all day calling different hospitals and the moment you say i am Nigerian the conversation changes. in as much as its the Embassy effect so to speak, i think we have a great impact on the decisions made as well. A friend went to a hospital in Chicago last year to have her baby and guess what she was almost rejected because a Nigerian Lady had her baby and refused to settle her extra bills after it was clearly stated in the OB package. As i stated earlier i dont mean to offend anyone but its tiring.

It has to be the embassy effect, especially with this Insurance scam brouhaha.
When I call I don’t even introduce myself as Nigerian, I just say I am ‘self- pay’ and I need estimate charges for delivery. They tell me they can’t email, just over the phone.

I guess they know now that once you request for correspondence it’s most likely for Visa purposes.

It is well. I will just go in good faith and speak my truth when they ask for hospital correspondence.

There s no absolute way to determine, if you will get it back. IMO, please dont risk it. It seems you may need to choose between going to Japan and going to the US now..

Except of course she doesn’t mind paying to move her Japan flight 2-3 days ahead.

To get your passport back, they will tell you 3-5 business days. If it comes earlier than 5 days they will send you a message from DHL. So the safest is 6 business days from your US interview since your Japan trip is for vacation (I suppose).

I am back again o. Please those of us intending to use Hospitals in Maryland, is anybody also experiencing this whole thing with Hospitals saying they don’t do email correspondences? I have called over 10 hospitals and they keep telling me that they can only give estimated charges over the phone but will not send emails.

My interview is fast approaching, what do I do if I am asked for Hospital correspondence? I have their prices but no email correspondences.

I have Doctor’s correspondence and appointment letter but the hospital one is what I am contending with now.

Please what do you people advise?

I am still doing my search anyways but I will really appreciate any referrals to hospitals that are willing to give email correspondences. Particularly hospitals with 10k and above charges, I know Maryland is not cheap and I do not want to even compromise with using hospitals that charge lesser.

Please help, thank you in Advance.

not really! just doing research as my DW may not end up using the hospital as i would prefer atlanta Geogia. u can just google them online and check for those dr that works with them

I plan to use Holy Cross or Anne Arundel though and I have my Doctor already, just that these two hospitals don’t give you hospital fee estimates or any email correspondences at all.

Please does anybody have an idea of any hospitals in Maryland who send Hospital fee estimates? I have called a couple of hospitals but they keep telling me that they do not email fee estimates, they can only give over the phone.
I am just tired honestly �

Please I applied for a visa renewal via Dropbox and got a 221g letter requesting I schedule an interview. I have been unable to secure a date yet yet.
My question is; is it possible to withdraw the current application and then apply afresh again instead of having to just wait an unknown amount of time?

It was difficult for wifey to also get an earlier date in Lagos also, that’s why she had to change post to Abuja. You can continue to call or send email, or change to Abuja if you can go through travel stress.

I wanted to find out how your wife was able to change interview locations. I am currently on the 221g stage but I am really pressed for time. As it is the date ‘pop up’ is still showing blank.

Then again u can't b so sure of hu will interview u plus ders no particular style...deyl just scrutinise ur credentials basically buh get ready t ansa any questions @all.
