Are you a doctor? Do you work at a federal teaching hospital where conmess is fully implemented? Then don't argue cos I work @ one. Your belief does not affect what drops into the accounts of SR1 in my hospital every month.

New senior registrars in my hospital start with over 400k while those @ SR1 level (After 1year as an SR) earn over 500k just like I said earlier.

People here keep telling you that healthcare is expensive, because in your posts you kept emphasising the amount you paid - making it seem like you paid a huge amount.

Let me state what most patients and relatives don't know.
Healthcare is not just expensive, some charges are quatifiable most are not quantifiable.

Patients usually try to quantify the costs ( making the hospital seem like its a bakery or pharmacy store) when they come up with story such as they only gave drip and 2 tablets and asked me to pay 15,000 - how do you pay for the knowledge behind that decision?.

Hello, its not the drip or the tablet that he is selling - you could get that from a pharmacy store. It is the knowledge of the service that he is rendering that he is charging.

If you did not go to the hospital, could you have known if that friend sustained a fracture or not, could you have known what tests you needed? Could you have known if the discomfort you felt in your breast which scared you was cancer or not.

You go to a lawyer and he tells you what to do without selling you anything and charges you N20,000 for just giving his informed opinion on an issue. Some agents charge 50,000 or more for just telling you the process to get some things done. But when people come to hospitals they come with calculators in their head trying to calculate number of drips and cotton wool used. Since you know how much cotton wool and spirit costs why not go to where they're being sold and help yourself with it.

Ulcer, chest pain?!!! Bros fear God naw! Ulcer has to do with the walls of the intestine and before drug prescription one has to do test to ascertain if its chronic or not, or if it has microbial inclination or chemical. Bros, the only thing closest to chest pain an ulcer patient can experience is discomfort in the upper gut region (last resort is except d sick has been administered drugs at home which could have cough/chest pain as side effect). Make una no dey support doctors unnecesarily, tell dem d truth wen its warranted. I am not a doctor, just a scholar, thanks.

Let me kindly make one thing clear: the essence of the telescope is to hear internal rhythms (if i can use dat word), so a good doctor shldnt be asking if its a throaty or chesty cough, s/he'd know through d breathing sound heard tru d stetoscope! So pls, that doc is definitely a quack, i must say. It means wen such patient lies that its a throaty cough he'd just fake diagnosis and write it even if such patient lied. Pls dont try to support bad practices by quack doctors in any hospital for dat matter! Gracias.
