He is right. Lagos ended at Apongbon. In 1967 General Gowon annexed the mainland including Ikeja which was part of the Western region and created Lagos state. Before then Lagos was a municipal council - that's how small it was port or no port.

In 1999 Lagos began the master plan that saw the rejuvenation of the island and Victoria Island as part of the CBD. That plan has continued unbroken leading to the lekki expansion. We are about to witness the badagry expansion from 2024. Without that plan by Tinubu lagos population would have remained at 1971 levels which was less than 1.7m instead of the 28m it is today. The numbers are there on the Internet.

Let's do politics, but let's not try to skew politics. General Gowons lagos, even IBB's lagos is very different to today's lagos.

Calabar, Lokoja and even Asaba also served as administrative capitals of Nigeria but how big are they today? Even with all the money pumped into Abuja, how much vibrancy does it have. Tinubu was born before Nigeria was created in 1960. Majority of the houses in Lagos where owned by yorubas and the remaining few by colonialist. So Which many nigerians are you talking about.
Lagos is a Yoruba state without doubt and before the the colonialist showed up they met the aworis, ijebu's and egbas there. if yorubas did not put Lagos in order and make it attractive, all thanks to tinubu with his brilliant ideas, who modernised Lagos, peter obituary and his fellow ibo pigs won't think of living in Lagos. If not that iboland is an unfortunate land, majority of IBO's including obi wont have any reason to live in yorubaland. Calabar was also a former capital so I don't know why you ingrates are always picking on Lagos.
