nnamdijonathan: Even Yobe and Kebbi states' governors have performed better than this in 3 years also. Apart from Abakaliki, which other city is being opened up in Ebonyi? Even if he can't achieve all I have listed there, why can't he upgrade the state of public schools and hospitals in the state or do you want to tell me that they are already in good conditions? Ebonyi state's level of vehicular movement is among the lowest in the country but Umahi is wasting billions on building flyovers, just the same nonsense Fayose did in Ekiti, and the most annoying part is that Umahi is planing to flag off the construction of an Airport funded by the state's government, what nonsense? Even with the way we dislike Okorocha, we can't deny that we did not see his work in the education sector of IMO state, let's not even talk about other states like Anambra and Osun. Having such a low population, Ebonyi state is expected to have keyed into wheat, maize and sugarcane farming which will set Ebonyi on another new level of agricultural success in food production due to availability of empty land. I read about his success in Rice and Palm oil production but I have not seen a well packaged Ebonyi Palm oil in the market before, I have only seen Abakaliki destoned rice. You said Abakaliki gets portable water twice a week? How exactly is this an achievement? From all I have seen in about 12 to 15 towns I have visited in Ebonyi in the last 7 months, Dave Umahi has done what was thought impossible in t young state. Given his lean purse, I consider him the best governor in Nigeria presently. |

horsepower101: That palace is massive. The rural road passing by it looks better in quality of construction than so many urban roads that i see. I couldn't even get a quarter of the palace as the place was so so big. There are still many houses at the back and a green area by the right, all fenced and secured. This is a massive complex. |

Cjrane2: I think Igbos are finally realizing the huge disservice they do to themselves by the attitude of not voting - and allowing other people to decide their fate through those they elect into power.
I begged my bosom friend in 2015 to vote and he vehemently refused and laughed at my stupidity and silliness to vote. His reasons were that it didn't concern him who ruled Nigeria nor Lagos and his vote would be rigged anyway. He would only vote if his brother was contesting, he said. So why stand under the sun for another man's ambition he said laughing hysterically at me? All pleas to make him see reasons were futile. He mocked at me and his gate-men and household staff from the north as senseless people because we wasted our time to vote. He kept mocking me to explain how not voting (for politicians enjoying billions of naira) will affect his enjoyment of life. Any explanation about the risk of the worst set of people getting power and even abusing us more than the current politicians made him laugh even more.
Well, as soon as Buhari took over, the first took over, he descended on foreign exchange people. He nearly begged for food in 2015-2016. Then the worst happened, Ambode demolished his bureau de change house. Now he hides from all of us because he thinks anyone would mock him. I heard he had since got a PVC for Ambode. Unfortunately for him, Ambode won't be contesting again. Some of our boys dead from Python Dance abuse of power are some of those that also wondered what they would gain voting anyone. Well, if they had voted, perhaps somebody else would be Commander-in-Chief and would not use our troops to kill civilians in the name of Python Dance 1 and 2. Thus, they would still be alive today.
I always tell people that as long as you live inside Nigeria, whatever the politicians do affect you. It's either your children are jobless because they have killed the economy or they create so much corruption and insecurity that armed robbers will feel free to come and kill you in your house. I just returned from a trip to Botswana. Do you know these people have constant electricity even in the remote villages? Yet, you can't be sure of 8 hours of electricity in Lagos?
I am glad that a lot more people are realizing that the ONLY way to have a Nigeria of our dreams begins first with VOTING. Nothing more, nothing less. Your vote is your power. Thank you Sir for this very important post. |

U see how Yoruba are going out of their way to make sure that even VP does not get to Igbos?
Even Fayosi threaten to resign PDP.
I hope those of us that are sleeping on the level of opposition we face from Yoruba are waking up.
I have always said Yoruba constitute the biggest problem Igbo face in Nigeria and never the North or HausaFulani. The only thing I asked is your Senate president choice? |

ATIKU AND OKONJO IWEALA.
ONLY IF SHE WILL ACCEPT.
SHE OFFERS NDIIGBO A SOFT LANDING INTO NIGERIA POLITICS.
PETER OBI WILL NOT SELL AS MUCH FOR ATIKU AS OKONJO IWEALA.
PLUS, IT BRIDGES THE GAP BETWEEN SS/SE. Senate president? |

horsepower101: I remember the the comments Nigerians were making when shoprite first came to Nigeria. They were saying that the Igbo businesses are finished. But I clearly remember so many Igbos then feeling bad for shoprite. That's the level of confidence our people have. They are never scared of competition. Today, look at what is happening. Roban is really thriving here. |

ckenneths: SPAR, Enugu. ..... Enugu now has many major shopping outlets
1. Shop rite 2. Game stores 3. Roban stores Independence layout 4. Roban stores Agbani road 5. Roban stores Trans Ekulu 6. SPAR More on this. I love the business strategy of Roban, they know exactly where Shoprite, their biggest competitors are, so the best thing to do is to box them in and suck their customers away. 1. Place a store at Agbani road to stop those from Achara layout, Garriki and Uwani from making the long trip to GRA to shop at Shoprite. 2. Place a store at Independence layout to stop the rich and lazy, maybe security shy from coming to Shoprite. 3. Place another store at Trans Ekulu to arrest shoppers from Abakpa, Trans Ekulu and the wider Nike towns and new areas from going to Shoprite. Nothing beats the experience of local knowledge. |

Handsomegod: You are absolutely correct sir. The older a city, the more matured the trees and greener it is expected to be.Just like an elder wife is expected to have more rags than the new wife. However, this is also totally determined by conscious tree planted efforts made by the government. You can still have a nearly 30 year old city like Abuja (1991) looking bare and and arid because aggressive greening was never taken serious. On the flip side, you have a a city like Owerri looking far more greener and habitable because barely 10 years ago,Ohakim made clean and green the policy thrust of his beatification agenda. Most of the trees and green areas we enjoy in Enugu today were put in place by M.I. Okpara. His divine regime approached development comprehensively. Till date he stands out. Very true Sir. |
