Lanicky Estharfabian Skarlett Laveda adeh39 Doveda/Daretodiffer JeffreyJamez laveda Ipledge Jigsawkillah Monalisa185 STFUareyougod Peeparty Netiquettes demand that I first and foremost preface this post with a profound apology. A squillion apologies for being unavoidably absent especially when I was needed the most. For those of you in the team, especially Nike, that were banking on my widow's mite(in terms of intellectual input and campaign logistics) before I had to take that painful and ineluctable sabbatical 4 weeks ago, once again I say - I am deeply sorry. Circumstances were way beyond my control. I got mugged some weeks ago(in case you're still wondering why you can't find me on your BBM or Whatsapp contact list), I fell critically ill and was bedridden for a week, and I could have made it in the nick of time to cast a vote last week except that I had to make some paintings for my sister's wedding, and also had to deal with a cartload of other offline responsibilities that much to my chagrin, greatly interfered with my pastime indulgences. Indeed, 'when it rains it pours'. But I take solace in the fact that the remainder of the campaign team worked indefatigably and selflessly in ensuring that Lanicky clinches the crown. And most pertinently, they did so working as an undivided unit. I think that has got to be one of the biggest take-away from this entire exercise: which is imbibing in each and every one of us the binding sense of togetherness; and also engendering a sense of espirit de corps among seemly incongruent entities. It goes a long way in proving that unity can exist among very disparate persons, each with his/her own unique ideology, personality, temperament etc. Nairaland is a microcosm of our great nation, Nigeria ,and all of the sectarian violence buffeting the graph of the nation's development could easily be a thing of the past if every Nigerian(both home and in the diaspora) learn how to coexist with each other, regardless of tribe, age or sex— just as members of the various campaign teams have done. We had a lot of tall talks during the run-up to the event, albeit lightheartedly, and nothing gladdens my heart more than the fact that we(Olanike's campaign team members) were able to walk the talk and overcome despite the traverses and assault courses that were lined up on our path. So, without further ado, I am saying a big congratulation to all the members of the Lanicky Campaign Team 2016, and including myself. . . .abi I no suppose congratulate myself? I try na. *****grins widely***** Ivvy, Refiner, MissGdope, Ivvy, Mimzy et al, you are also winners and I must laud you all for your steely courage and perseverance. The only regret I have is that some certain individuals have heinously turned what was supposed to be a fun-filled event into a circus of shame, stark immaturity and hatred. Life is very easy y'all and too short to be lived hating people on the internet—Suru laye, Surulere. Nonetheless, I hope this doesn't have a negative-salutary effect on other Nairaland females who hope to contest come next year. I hope that whatever had transpired—the mudslinging, the false accusations, and the other unmentionable acts—do not deter the ladies who hope to partake in the tourney next year. And to the Woman Of The Moment, Lanicky, I extend my congratulations for this milestone you have achieved. We thought you were done like a dinner last year when you lost to Tohpahz. We thought you had given up, hung the boots—not knowing you were simply lurking in the sidelines, plotting your reemergence—courting the crown that was denied you last year the same way a great lion fawneth over an unsuspecting doe. And most remarkable was how you steadfastly pelted after the prize despite the militating backdrop and concatenation of ugly events that would have prompted any average Jane Doe to scramble for the exiting door. You showed great mettle, proved you are no yellow-belly and also confounded expectations. I am proud of you. I can count how many ladies would have stood as rock solid as you did with my fingers and still have a couple left to eat eba and ewedu. The only thing wey remain now na our date ooo. No forget oooo. I wanted to post this with my Darkrebel account but anti-spambot got to me. And hey, Skarlett. how far na? I should probably don a protective face mask while I still can to cushion the biffs that are bound to come with your reply to this post. LOL. And safarigirl/safareegurl, I saw all your comments on that Twaci's thread. Quite incisive I must say. More biceps to your intellectual muscle. Though I could sight some things that were iffy in your remarks, especially those bordering on gender roles. We would tackle it on that thread on Wednesday with my Darkrebel account. I just hope I would be chanced and that you would be available as well. And Estharfabian, how are you? 11 Likes 5 Shares |

To add pep on that, I have never come across you once on this forum but you've given me over 50 mentions that never get replied. It is you that needs a lot of growing up to do...your actions are a far cry from maturity. We need a miracle..a panacea..a deus ex machina...anything that'd enable us win the league this season otherwise we must spruce up for the inevitable deriding and mockery that's bound to follow anything short of copping the league. |

dmcdad: True talk brov. Okay, lemme use this medium to announce this beforehand. I would need y'all to come out en masse to vote Estharfabian www.nairaland.com/estharfabian in the Miss Nairaland competition that's about getting underway. I'm her campaign manager and like all Aare-Ona Kakanfos of old Oyo empire barring from Kakanfo Adonji, I'm expected to bring home a victory or commit suicide. You can click on the afore link and check her out. There would be series of tests and probably an essay competition before the finale and I would give y'all a link for each activity when the time comes. I crave your indulgence and hope you'd click on whatever link I tag you with in order to do the needful. The grand prize is 50k. AdeLaNa1: I am Darkrebel... Like I said, I didn't expect much from the game especially after seeing the lackadaisical display from our boys at first half so the loss didn't offset me one bit. At least I can sleep well knowing Real Madrid would not win CL at the end of the day - abi they wan beat my German machines? Impossible. All attention shifted to Valencia... |

AdeLaNa1: You lost the debate pal...I just gave you a quintillion reasons why it is risible for second division teams like Chelsea, Man United and Arsenal to troll the Alpha and Omega of Football. I'm sorry for addressing the aforementioned as second division teams -it's because I really can differentiate when Chelsea or Man United play to when Sunderland or Warri Wolves play...no pun intended. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Classyalabolass: 11:21pm On Apr 13, 2016 |
AdeLaNa1: You must be dyslexic - reread the title of the thread, it says: "Barcelona Fan Thread Fellow goons invade the EPL threads? bwahaha. that's one hell of a pipe dream, mate. No Barca fan finds EPL teams worthy of trolling. Man United lost 3 nil last week - DMCdad was still busy hustling at MazaMaza, bykebyke continued with his okada business, sebod did not halt selling suya, neither did I leave what I was doing to go troll on Man United's thread. And you are here hyperventilating because we lost. Abeg, you guys are inferior. We are your gods. Kowtow for Barça which is the tabernacle of football 1 Like |

AdeLaNa1: Real painment is when the sacrosanctity of this thread is vitiated by run-of-the-mill cadaverous teams who have no hope of silverware this season. The loss wasn't painful per se - the unnecessary furore caused by fanboys of irrelevant teams is. Now, can you now see that you are the ignorant one here? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Classyalabolass: 10:47pm On Apr 13, 2016 |
Kagawa10: You are a 4-dimensional fool. Man United doesn't even have a prayer in winning anything this season. Because you barely escaped West Ham today, you are already feeling like the King of Wessex. What sort of hardihood is this? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Classyalabolass: 10:41pm On Apr 13, 2016 |
Dadehmola: Did I ruffle your feathers? If you are not a Man City, Bayern, Athletico or Real Madrid fan, then you don't have a right to gloat when Barça loses. Doing so is pure stüpidity. Worse is if your team is on life support in your local league. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Classyalabolass: 10:33pm On Apr 13, 2016 |
These trolls should get the fück outta here - especially the Arsenal, Man United and Chelsea fans among them - you'd be considered worthy of gracing this thread with a post when your teams have magically made a meteoritic rise to relevance in the spheres of soccer. Have you no iota of shame? - when your team loses, no one gives a fück or even considers you worthy enough of trolling your thread, but when Barça loses, the good, bad and the miserable flood here with all sort of boring memes. Please have some dignity - our players are humans like yours and are not immune to fallibility. stop deifying us. To be honest, I'm not even moved an inch by this loss - I watched this match and did not even grimace a bit when the final whistle was blown. This loss was a long time coming. From the lack of elan and enthusiasm in the first half on the part of our players, I could already prognosticate that a defeat was inevitable. We have definitely dropped form and at a very wrong time in the season. It's not how well you begin a race but how you finish it. Blame it on jet lag and accumulated fatigue. Nonetheless, these set of players were major flops tonight:- Neymar, Busquets, Sergio Roberto, Dani Alves. I thought Sergio Busquets was taking to correction, I didn't know he was feigning his progress and looking for the most suitable time to display how he has hit the saturated mark of stüpidity. He was found wanting in so many places, made the game languid by belating passes and lost the ball so many times unnecessarily by holding on to it when a simple pass woulda sufficed. He couldn't read the game well and left our midfield susceptible to counters. To make it worse, he was also dribbling foolishly in our own half of the field. The inanity of this dude's playing style is just beyond my ratiocination. I give up on his case. Rakitic wasn't in shipshape form either. If these dudes don't get their heads out of their assës, I'm afraid we may not even win la liga this season. |
