they broke the egg.
bwahaha! Lol@they broke the egg. Eeeeya kpele, next time be monitoring them, the moment they lay, you take the eggs away. I don't know if you are keeping the eggs for consumption, but incase you wanna hatch the eggs, you will have to put a mature Cockrell or male broiler together with her so the male will cross her and fertilize the eggs.

I can see the ongoing debate regarding the formation of the association.. Mr soft has done justice to the benefit and aims of the association..we are one big and happy family and I will support anybody who wish to form any group or association..

It has long been my desire to have an association where we can have our own dedicated hatchery, feed mill to produce our own feed, meeting house, access to funds, training for members, and cosultancy etc it Doesnt get better than this, its a win win for all.. I WILL decide if the feed will be sold to the public or not.. To cut the long story short we are not imposing it on anybody to join the association but rather letting people know the mission and vision and the benefit of joining the association.. it's a choice .. I have to stop here since soft has said it all.. God bless
May God give you more wisdom and strength to take this vision to another level! "WE" are solidly behind you (who no like make e park well). Am a member of GROFFA, but will support this idea, and would love to see an actual GROUP that will carry every single farmer along irrespective of his farm size, location or geopolitical zone! I pray we all come together and welcome it with an open mind. #Count me in boss, will be repping the Eastern zone ooo grin tongue

Hello ma, we are making sure booking and delivery are accelerated.. We are improving on that.. Thanks
hi Robonski, I called Kilani severally to make another booking, I asked him to confirm the transportation cost and the vehicle company that will bring it down to Anambra State, (Ihiala precisely). He told me that he doesn't know any transport that's coming my way, but he will make enquiries. Uptill now, no news about the waybill. I called him again, he said he will call me back, yet nothing from him till now. There's no way I can make my booking without knowing how much the waybill will cost me. Please look into this matter urgently cuz am running out of patient. Thanks. (actually I want to book for both clarias and hybrid juveniles, hope he would not mix things uphuh? Cuz the last time I called him, he sounded so confused and tired that he almost cried on the phone. Maybe you should look into his work load)

Dear Ronboski, I am from Abuja. I made booking 4weeks ago for 3000 fingerlings and the man in charge said that they would be ready by 1st week in December. However when my hubby called made the call Mr. Kilani said 2nd week. So my hubby called again and he said the fingerlings would be available in 2weeks time and we should make deposit. Now the problem isn't the deposit but the supply time. We are prepared and waiting another 2 weeks .... well please help solve this problem. Thanks.
exactly the issue, the booking and delivery is very discouraging. I had to get my juveniles from another source here in my locality, after I tried to book from robonski since ages..

Hey guys! Gudmrn, feels good to be back(couldn't access my account for some time). First of all, I want to thank My one and only boss, Mr Noel, for being a selfless and coolest mentor I've met so far. Before I met him here on nairaland, I was a novice and amateur when it comes to poultry farming, but his advice, lectures and contacts has taken me to another level! Noel am so grateful for all the help and support, God will enlarge ur coast, your benevolence shall never be in vain. In the present times, people hoard information and contacts, but you shared with us all ur knowledge and skills! I am forever indebted to you. #proudlyafarmer

Yes, price may likely hit 200 or above especially during the first half of September, but will definitely come down after.

Maize 60% ( commercial concentrate please).

I can give you 98% assurance on Obasanjo and Ajanla farm DOC. Their birds are very strong, eat well and dont die anyhow.

as for stocking, there are two type of birds in the markets during Xmas, Economy birds and Rich man birds. Economy birds are the ones you sell between #1000-2500 while the rich man ones goes between #2500-5000. It now depends on which you really want to do. Rich man birds should be stock between August to mid-September. You can stock the economy birds as late as 2nd half of October.

Both have their advantages and disadvantages. We prefer the Economy birds not only because of our large stocks nature but also the following;

* Cheaper DOC during this period.

* keeping birds for long time increase the chances of deceases outbreak.

* You sell them off very fast( looking at Nigeria economy, there are very few people that can afford/pay 3000-5000 for a bird.

AgricultureRe: Starting A Poultry Farm (a Blog) by Cleoo(f): 4:54am On Aug 31, 2015
Thanks for your response, why am bothered about the price increment is cuz I've heard pple say that it will soon go up to 200 and above........... From September. Please the maize, what percentage should I add to the commercial feed? which good hatchery would you recommend? And when do you advise I should stock for Xmas? (this is my first time Xmas sales) God bless
yemmit90:
Since you are selling them by Xmas, i dont think you should be worry about any market women. you can sell off all you birds by adopting a simple market strategy.

Getting more 'roosters' is by luck and there is little or nothing one can do about it.

Rain should not be a determinant factor as long as you've mastered the act of brooding. What you should put into consideration are the number of weeks you will like to raise them and the expected body weight. Besides, i dont know what you called 'cheap' because broiler's DOC was sold #150 few weeks ago at Obasanjo farm(this is not cheap to me). Price will definitely drop by mid October.

As for the feed, you can start with broilers starter( Top feed) and make use of concentrate and maize when they start taking finisher.
AgricultureRe: Starting A Poultry Farm (a Blog) by Cleoo(f): 1:37pm On Aug 29, 2015
My ogas I greet you all, please I need some advice on how to go about my Xmas broiler sales. I noticed that market women prefer males cuz of it's big red attractive combs.... I was very disappointed with the broilers I got, it was 70% females(from Amo byng hatchery) and didn't weigh much upon all the feed it consumed, please which good hatchery is likely to have mostly male DOC? Secondly, with this rain and all, is it advisable to stock broilers now or should I wait till end of September? (even though am tempted to stock up cuz it's cheaper now, am scared the price might hike soonest) what can I add to their commercial feeds to save cost?
AgricultureRe: Xmas Broiler Broading In Pictures by Cleoo(f): 1:02pm On Aug 29, 2015
U are so on point! I want to stock now too o, but my fear is this too much rain..... Cuz it's not very good for chicks. They die easily during rainy season and very vulnerable to diseases. Am just confused and tempted cuz doc is cheaper now. From September it will hike!
noeloge82:
Its just about 15wks from now so for december broiler where u consider weight size and comb look which influences market price I don't think 15 - 16wks is to much at good method of feeding is bad

My oga dem, gudmrn sirs. Please how can I eradicate lice from my farm? My turkeys and chicken has it all over their feathers. Please I would love the explanation to be on a layman's level cuz I don't understand what boss davidzfarm meant by 'doping them in MB50 solution' (make I no go kii my birds) Lol.
