PDP-APC
There seems to be no end in sight to the crisis plaguing the PDP as 15 executive committee members of the Borno State chapter of the party voluntarily resigned and withdrew their membership.

In a statement made available to journalists yesterday, the 15 committee members declared their loyalty to the newly registered All Progressives Congress (APC). According to them, the reason for the defection was to enable them carry out developmental activities that will affect the ordinary man in the state.

The defecting members, however, pledged their continued support for the present administration and acknowledged its tremendous achievements despite the security challenges facing the state.

The defecting members include Habu Hamman – deputy state chairman; Mallam Gana Ladu - state secretary; Hajiya Fati Kakenna - state women leader; Hon. Nuhu Clark - state youth leader; Liman Mustapha - state org. Secretary; Hon. Audu B. Walama - state Treasurer, and Hon. Modu Allami- State pub. Secretary.

Others are Alh. Audu Gambo- state auditor; Modu Abba - asst. org. sec., north; Gambo Birma - asst. org. sec. South; Hon. Abdulraman Abdulawan - asst. sec., central; Mohammed Danjuma - asst. pub. secretary; Hon. Mustapha Ali - ex-officio; Aja Eli Wakil - ex-officio; and Hajiya Bintu Bukaram - ex-officio.

Politics › PDP Governors Snub Tuesday "Peace Parley " With President Jonathan by Clerverly(op): 10:55pm On Sep 03, 2013
Governors of Peoples Democratic party (PDP) who were earlier scheduled to meet President Goodluck Jonatha today refused to honor the meeting asking for more time.

One of the governors told Saharareporters that they sent word to the President that they have important state matters to attend in their respective states for at least one week.

President Jonathan had to postpone the meeting till next Tuesday in deference to the governors.

Last Saturday several of the governor stormed out of the venue of the party's convention to declare a splinter faction. Their action reportedly troubled President Jonathan, who immediately called an emergency meeting of state governors of his party; however, some of the governors left Abuja to avoid meeting with the president. The rapid depletion of the ranks of the governors left Mr. Jonathan with only 16 governors; the absence of the key governors forced the president to postpone the meeting by two hours but several of the governors refused to commit to the meeting forcing the presidency to postpone the meeting for another week.

The chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Tony Anenih confirmed the postponed, in a chat with reporters Anenih said the peace talks, scheduled to continue Tuesday in Abuja, were postponed at the request of the aggrieved governors of the party who stormed out of the venue of the party’s special national convention on Saturday.

Anenih said that the peace talks with the aggrieved governors would now continue Tuesday, next week, after selected party leaders would have met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Friday as part of wider consultations demanded by parties to the crisis.

He disclosed that the aggrieved governors told the Presidency, and the PDP leadership that they needed more time to make larger consultations, just as he said the Presidency and the PDP leadership were not opposed to wider consultations.
He explained that the Presidency and PDP leadership was taking advantage of the postponement to also consult widely on how to amicably resolve the crisis.
According to him, “Part of the wider consultations is the meeting of selected party leaders with Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on Friday morning and thereafter; we will meet with the governors on Tuesday, next week.”
The BoT chair, who read out the resolution of the marathon meeting that held in the Presidential Villa from Sunday night till the early hours of Monday, expressed optimism that the problems would be resolved and the aggrieved governors who broke away from the convention venue to announce a faction of the party, would come back.
“I believe some of them have genuine grievances; but I have hope that, once the grievances are addressed, they will come back. I am happy that the PDP has an internal mechanism for effective conflict resolution, and at the end of the day, the problems will be addressed and the PDP will come out of the crisis stronger,” Anenih stated.
At the end of the marathon meeting, which ended about 2.05 am on Monday, Anenih had read a short resolution of the meeting to the hearing of the PDP governors, including four of the aggrieved governors, who attended the meeting to set the stage for the continuation of peace talks, which were scheduled for yesterday.
The outcome of the meeting: “The resolution of Mr. President, the leadership of the party and the PDP Governors meeting today the 1st of September, 2013, to discuss the incident that occurred during the PDP special convention of 31st August, 2013, whereby some State delegations broke out of the convention ground to announce a faction of the PDP. The meeting was encouraging and smooth, and the discussions will continue Tuesday (September 3, 2013) with all the aggrieved governors in attendance

Sincere 9gerian: My position on NL is known. I stand for the RIGHT thing. I stand for FREE and FAIR election.

Just to burst your bubble, when OBJ massively rigged elections between 1999 and 2007, what did you and your fellow noise maker do? You only made noise as usual and later sought refuge in the courts. When Yar Adua shamelessly rigged the Ekiti re-run in 2009 or so, what did you and your fellow noise makers do? Make noise as usual and sought refuge in the courts. When Lagos ACN massively rigged the 2011 Lagos local council polls, what the PDP do? Nothing besides going to court. PDP recently rigged the Kwara local council polls, what did APC do? Nothing, except noise and going to court.

That the current president chose to do the RIGHT thing is a matter of good conscience and sincerity of purpose, and not an act of cowardice
It is a credit to you for accepting that the company(sorry Party) you work for are confirmed electoral fraudsters. Consequently Nigerians cannot wait to see the back of this common enemy who has held down their progress for the past 14 years. Say No To Election Riggers!!!

Politics › Re: How Jonathan Will RULE ( May Not Win Election Though) Nigeria Again In 2016 by Clerverly: 8:46am On Sep 01, 2013
TRUTHTELA: I'm kind of too tired to construct a long GRAMMAR, cos I just arrived from a long summer trip. I'll sum up some REALISTIC FACTS ( my perception though) about the present day Nigeria.

Firstly, folks have to remember that NIgeria is a THIRD WORLD COUNTRY, meaning FREE & FAIR ELECTION in a presidential election will continue to be a mirage.

A NIgeria president is too POWERFUL,meaning U might call Jonathan a fool, but remember there are hundreds of SAN's, Anenih's, thugs, Dangote's,Adenuga's, SSS, POLICE, MILITARY etc, LOYAL to the PRESIDENT, not Jonathan, and who is the incumbent president of NIgeria?

Yes, you'll not vote for JOnathan, here is a FACT, on Election Day, Jonathan's foot soldiers will convert your one vote to 300,000 votes, how they do it? As OBJ, how he did it for himself and YAr'adua. In addition, STATISTICIANS are already working out how SMALL PERCENTAGE of votes from the " NEW PDP& apc states" will be added to the HUGE percentage that will come from JOnathan's stronghold states, and what will be the result? SECOND TERM for Jonathan.

In addition, six governors and some other OBJ loyalist are fighting Jonathan, the FACT is this, from Obj;s ogun state, to Kano, Jigawa,Rivers,Adamawa,Sokoto, and Kwara, states, Jonathan, is at war with these political WARLORDS, but HUNDREDS of other POLITICAL HEAVYWEIGHTS from these states are loyal to Jonathan and Jonathan, will use TAX PAYERS ( OIL MONEY,cos naija people dnt pay taxes) to fund his own loyalist and the outcome will be known to all.

I'm sure millions of nigerians are not happy with Gej and some other millions are so HAPPY with him, its all based on TRIBE, PERCEPTION, RELIGION, &SENTIMENT's. And the best way to ascertain the TRUTH is through the ballot boxes, but some people think they are more of a "PRESIDENTIAL MATERIAL" more than Gej and his wife, or it's their "TURN" to rule Nigeria, or they should always DETERMINE who rules Nigeria at every election period, hence they have to SCARE Gej, out of the presidential race.

The political fight between Gej and his fellow ROGUES will get messier, before 2015, but Gej, will not back out of the race. The worse will be him losing the presidential election, but, will he lose anything? NO! The greatest LOSER will continue to be the DOCILE and GULLIBLE Nigerian Youths, cos, No APC, PDM, NEW AND OLD PDP can fix that country, only a REVOLUTION would, cos EVIL &IMPUNITY have eaten so DEEP in the culture.

If you have the political foresight, you can see that all these guys are nothing but ROGUES that wants political power just to enrich their kits and kin and impoverish the ordinary Nigerian as they are used to doing? AMONG ALL THE ROUGES (Atiku&co) FIGHTING Gej ( another ROGUE) IS THEIR ANYONE OF THEM FIGHTING FOR THE INTEREST OF THE COMMON MAN ON THE STREET? I mean an average Niigerian doesn't even trust any of them. Check this out;

Atiku: Obj, destroyed him political, a common man on the street doesn't even want to hear Atiku, so on what records is he going to RUN or fight a sitting Nigeria president? is it his PTDF records? By the time Gej, foot soldiers takes the fight to the doorstep of his oil&gas and shipping businesses, he'll greedily sing a different tune.

The six Gov's have their MATCHES in their various states, from ASSASSINS, to THUGS, & of course, their Director's off SSS & Commissioners of police are loyal to Abuja and the president of Nigeria. Besides their dirty past, do you know why I call them SELFISH ROGUES? Because they don't want to join APC, from PDP, they want to have a platform that will make them bargain for VP, PETROLEUM or Finance minister before they merge PDM, with APC. Or if they join the opposition this early, Gej's foot soldiers will bring their stolen wealth and business interest to a HALT ( Obj, did it to Adenuga, Atiku, Orji Kalu, etc) hence, the " NEW PDP" and if the heat gets too much they'll make peace with Gej, and you'll hear the PDP's euphemism for flogging deviants into line " FAMILY AFFAIR" and their GREED for PRIMITIVE ACQUISITION OF WEALTH will bring them back together at the EXPENSE of the common man.

Lastly, if you think cos PDP ROGUES are having crisis and birth of APC, is enough to make an INCUMBENT Nigeria's president (I'm not talking Gej), to lose election and will now handover to the opposition , you were either born in the 90's or politically naive about the dynamics of Nigeria's political history. FYI, Obj, will NEVER want to work with Tinubu politically. Atiku, was in the same party with Tinubu, I doubt if he'll be so KEEN to do that again, meaning, ALL THESE ROUGES WILL NEVER SUPPORT THE FAILURE OF A PDP's president. The devil they know...someone should help me finish it.

Look beyond GEJ, and your low view about him, you'll objectively see that an INCUMBENT Nigerian president is a MONSTER, even Gej's enemies are trading with CAUTION and that monster they make of any president needs to be DEMYSTIFIED by the populace just like the Egyptians did.
Ogogoro Man, wake up is day time!

Politics › Fresh Census Ordered In 14 LG's In Lagos by Clerverly(op): 2:48pm On Aug 30, 2013
The National Census Tribunal, sitting in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital has ordered fresh census in 14 Local Government Areas in Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.

This followed the nullification of the figures released by the National Population Commission, NPC, after the 2006 national census.

Also, the Lagos State Government has called on the National Population Commission, NPC, to urgently order recount in the affected councils.

The National Census Tribunal nullified the census figures released by the NPC in 14 LGs in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, saying that the counting was illegal and did not give the accurate census figures of the state.

At a news conference today at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre, Alausa in Ikeja, Lagos, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Ade Ipaye, said since the tribunal had ordered NPC to recount the population in the 14 councils, the commission should immediately put machinery in motion to do the recount.

“In the final analysis, the official national census results for 14 old Local Government Councils (now 40 LGAs and LCDAs) in Lagos State have been nullified. This vindicates the resolve of the State Government to base its physical and economic plans on a projected population of 17,553,924 in 2006 and over 21,000,000 currently.

“We now expect that the National Population Commission will urgently announce plans for a recount as ordered by the Tribunal,” he said.

Ipaye stated that following the census exercise conducted by the NPC nationwide from March 21 to 27, 2006, and particularly in the various local government areas in Lagos State, which gave Lagos a census figure of 9,113,605, many informed commentators within and outside the state had considered this figure to be far too low.

“Most importantly, a shadow survey carried out by state officials during the exercise showed that Lagos State should have had a population of at least 17,553,924. A good number of residents from various communities within the state protested and, eventually, had petitions filed on their behalf when the Census Tribunal was established,” he stated.

He added that the 2006 census was conducted on the basis of twenty Local Government Areas as listed in the 1999 Constitution, saying out of these, massive complaints came out of 19 Local Government Areas, such as Agege, Alimosho, Amuwo-Odofin, Apapa, Bagadry, Epe, Eti-Osa, Ifelodun, Ifako-Ijaiye, Ikeja, Ikorodu, Kosofe, Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland, Mushin, Ojo, Oshodi/Isolo, Shomolu and Surulere.

“Nineteen separate petitions were therefore filed on behalf of aggrieved residents of these councils at the Census Tribunal. The Tribunal sat for about 18 months and finally passed judgments in all 19 cases between 19 and 20 June, 2013. In 14 of these cases, which cover at least 40 of the new Local Government Councils and Local Council Development Areas, the census results were closely considered and declared null and void,” he disclosed.

Ipaye said that the Tribunal, however, dismissed petitions filed on behalf of residents in five Local Government Councils, such as Shomolu, Ikorodu, Kosofe, Mushin and Oshodi-Isolo on the ground that sufficient proof was not presented by the petitioners.

The Attorney General said government might decide to appeal the upholding of the census figures in the five local governments after thoroughly studying the judgment of the Tribunal.

In the judgment of the tribunal, recount was ordered in the following areas in Amuwo-Odofin, such as Festac Town, Agustin Ajagun Street, Amuwo-Odofin GRA, Jakande Estate, Aguda, Raji Estate and Rasak Street; Eti-Osa-Ribadu Road by Prison barracks, Residents of Obalende, residents of all houses in Idunmojokun Street, Ajeniya Street, Jakande Estate, Olaiya Street, Odo Street, all residents in office depot Majek First Gate Ajah, Badore, Ajah, Alagaso road, Awoyaya and areas in Alimosho such as Ayobo, Egan, Baruwa, Ikotun-Egbe, Idimu, Iyana-Ipaja, Akinugun Bus Stop and Omotosho Areas.

Politics › Governor Peter Obi: The “saint” Who Sinned By Churchill Okonkwo by Clerverly(op): 11:33am On Aug 30, 2013
In the beginning, he claimed not to be a politician but a saint and successful businessman that volunteered to serve and build a new Anambra. Less than 2 years to the end of his tenure, Ndi Anambara are beginning to see the true color of Governor Peter Obi. Like Apostle Simon Peter, “Saint” Peter Obi had enough faith in Jesus to start his political career by challenging the rigging of Anambra State Governorship election by Andy Ubah, just like Apostle Simon Peter started walking boldly on the water. But like Apostle Peter who began to drown when he saw the wind and waves, Peter Obi started drowning when he saw the massive flow of cash and powers of the governor on assuming office.
Jesus called Apostle Simon Peter "Mr. Little Faith" because he doubted Jesus and his word. I call Peter Obi the saint who sinned not just because he slept while he should be watching but because has deceived Ndi Anambra more than three times even while communing with the bishops just like Apostle Peter denied Jesus three times. Here, I will expose the hypocrisy, lies, deceit, foolishness, and arrogance of the governor who sinned.
Peter Obi is a man of many contradictions. It is an open secret that Peter Obi has heavily bribed and chained the State House of Assembly into a state of comma. Now all the house members do is gallivant around town and wait for “bills” or any form of executive action that requires their approval and then demand that it be “dressed up” before the house will give it due consideration. For a bill to be “dressed up,” it means that Peter Obi has to spend millions bribing the House members to have his way. That was why Governor Obi boasted in 2011 that, “I have known the rules of impeachment. Nobody can impeach me again. If they try it again, I will scatter them.” It is a sin for Peter Obi to continue to “scatter” the State House with ego Ndi Anambra.
Peter Obi’s other sins include metamorphosis from a defender of democracy to active rigger when he colluded with the likes of Dora Akunyili and Uche Ekumife to massively rig the Anambra Central Senatorial election in Aniocha LGA. His recent romance with Chuma Nzeribe; a celebrated evil with criminal mind further points to a man whose actions on a Sunday mass does not reflect his corrupt actions in the other 167 hours of the week. Perhaps, we should forgive him because as an English poet and novelist Aphra Behn said, “there is no sinner like a young saint”.
But Peter Obi is not young. He has been the governor for more than six years. Six years that the locust ate in Anambra State. Six years of performance that revealed hypocrisies in spades and yet he still claims to be sanctified. Peter Obi has been living in two worlds; half-sinner and half-saint or should I say 100% sinner and 100% saint? After months of offering  “financial inducement to senior editors as well as placing advertising supplements in various newspapers in exchange for flattering reports and columns about his administration” as reported by Sahara Reporters, the governor recently compensated the reporters for a job well done by offering them the positions of caretaker committee chairmen in various local governments in the state. The reporters are one Tony Okafor, Emeka Odegwu, Chuks Ilozue and Jude Atupuluazi. The book of proverbs told us that it is better to be a sinner than a hypocrite. Governor Peter Obi has however chosen both.
It has been augured that Governor Peter Obi has succeeded in ‘chasing’ away looters and corrupt politicians out of the state. But in the process, he has made himself the “Alpha and Omega” of corruption in Anambra State. Awarding contract to cronies and friends without due process and open bidding; using his influence and the name of Anambra State to acquire shares for himself and children at SABMiller while the rest of us continues to wallow in poverty; appointing commissioners who are figureheads that cannot execute projects worth even fifty thousand Naira without the his “exclusive” approval.
Theodore Roosevelt once said “The best executive is the one who has sense enough to pick good men to do what he wants done, and self-restraint to keep from meddling with them while they do it.” In Peter Obi however, Ndi Anambra has a Governor that is equivalent to tortoise in the animal kingdom. Governor Obi is the only ‘wise man’ in Anambra State, the king that deceives his subjects, and ultimately a one-man administration that has no regards to democratic principles and ethics.
Following the devastating flood that affected parts of the state, the government just opened several accounts named “ Anambra State Flood Disaster Emergency Fund.” I feel the pains and suffering of those affected by the flood and encourage all that can help to do so. However, it is worth noting that the LGAs recently affected by flooding in Anambra State officially gets about 400 million Naira monthly federal allocation. Where is this money? For the governor’s media assistant, Valentine Obienyem (a big beneficiary of the corrupt practices of the governor) to be telling Ndi Anambra not to politicize the devastating flood is absurd. The question for Obienyem is: how much of this money that rightfully belong to these LGAs is being deployed to help the homeless and the stranded?
Mr. Governor, I commend you for leading the rescue effort, but having yourself pictured on a lonely boat is like “killing a snake and carrying it in our hands when we have a bag for putting things in." I believe that those affected will love it more if their money from the federal government is deployed for their resettlement and rehabilitation. Mr. Governor you sinned by appointing commissioners and LG caretaker chairpersons that do not even have the resources to hire a boat and tour the areas affected by the flood not to talk of resources needed to relocate and resettle the affected population.  It is OK for Peter Obi (an acclaimed miser) to be selfish enough to deny his butts faeces. But is a sin to refuse to use the fund allocated to these LGs in this current rescue and rehabilitation operation.
Finally, I leave Governor Peter Obi with the words of Chinua Achebe from ‘Things Fall Apart’: "Travellers with closed minds can tell us little except about themselves." We have seen you Governor and we have also seen the deceit, corruption, the lies and worst still the arrogance. Your story in the past six years has been that of clouded and distorted vision. My Anambra State can and should be doing better.

Sincere 9gerian: On the very FIRST thread created on this forum on the controversial deportation, I declared war on Fashola. I did that because I was so pained by the development. I did that even before the deportation went viral and before people like Peter Obi, Fani Kayode, etc spoke officially about the incident. While waging the war on Fashola, I got unjustly banned twice within a space of one month, for the first time since joining the forum.

Anyone that supports the evil deportation will AUTOMATICALLY come under firing line. All I and many others angry with the deportation policy, had asked for was an APOLOGY. Since Fashola, Ngige and others who supported that action are too arrogant to offer an apology, the people who feel injured by that action too will not sheath their sword. The sword is long drawn on both sides.

Call it sentiments or whatever you like, the fact is Ngige's gubernatorial ambition is DEAD ON ARRIVAL. Both within and without NL, I'll do my little bit to make sure Ngige's ambition remains COMATOSE
Idiaotu? Who are you to stop Ngige? You have a lot on your hand already, and you are not faring any better-amechi, obasanjo, The 5 governors yet you are here boasting like rotten magggot! Anu mpama
