Tachysensia / Fast Feeling / Alice-In-Wonderland Syndrome I don't even know where to start. This is quite possibly, the scariest thing I must've ever experienced in my life. Dear reader, my name is Clint. I'm from Warri, Nigeria. Last year (Nov, 2021) I woke up one morning feeling sick. My temperature was pretty high and I was sweating like mad. I was alone in my apartment in a neighboring state from where my family lived. I called a friend to come over and help me get some medical attention. He came and took me to his personal doctor. I got diagnosed with malaria and typhoid. She gave me two injections to make me feel better, but she said I'm gonna need to be taken to the hospital for proper treatment. I called my mom and told her about how I was feeling, and she opted to come take me home. On the evening of the next day, my mom and dad drove over and took me back to our home state. On our way home, we had a flat tyre and got stuck in the middle of the road at night. I think I hit my head somewhere when the tyre burst. I'm not sure. Anyways, we managed to change the tyre and kept going. I was still feeling kinda sick on our way home but it wasn't as bad as the previous day. When we got home, I took a shower and tried to get some sleep, and then - the strangest thing started happening to me. At first, I noticed that everytime I close my eyes, I see very scary images of being on the road, constantly moving on high speed. I kept getting hit by several vehicles, and each hit morphs into another hit, and another and so on until I open my eyes. When I closed them again, I also started seeing weird images like scary hands with long claws, then they start morphing into the inside of the mouth of some grotesque animal, which morphs into images of piles of naked people, then morphs into me being on the road and getting hit by vehicles and another vehicle, and so on. I had no control over my thoughts anymore. It's like my brain had forgotten how to relax, and just fall asleep. So, there I was on my bed, next to my already sleeping younger brother, fighting to fall asleep. Suddenly, I heard a loud splashing noise next to my head. I got out of bed in shock. I woke my brother up and asked him if he heard the noise. He asked, "what noise?". I immediately covered my ears when he started talking and I asked him to stop shouting, it's too late to be talking that loud. He explained that he wasn't talking loud. He got up and headed for the wardrobe to get something, that's when I noticed something is terribly wrong with me. His footsteps were so loud like they were next to my head! I left the room in fear and headed upstairs to meet my mom to explain what's happening. It's was like someone turned the volume up on life. When I got to her door, I was so scared of even knocking. Knocking was so loud. I then covered my ears to brace for when she opens the door. Indeed, when she opened the door, it was so loud. I also noticed that covering my ears doesn't help because, the sound of my hands touching my ears, was wreaking havoc inside my head. I went into her room and told her what was happening. I had to tell her to whisper when she talks. She picked up her phone and dialed her pastor. When he picked up, I could hear what he was saying on the phone after she told him what was going on. She wasn't even standing close to me, nor was the phone on "speaker". She was meters away. I started telling her what I'm hearing the pastor say. "I can hear him! He's saying you should place a wet cloth on my head", I said crying. The ceiling fan in her room was getting louder and louder. I heard yet another loud splashing noise. It was coming from the cat fishes my mom was breeding downstairs in our backyard. It was as if my head was the pond itself and the fishes were in it. She went out of her room to wake up my dad and all five of my other siblings. When they all came into the room, I lost it. I was screaming and begging them to be quiet. At this point, I started crying like a child. My head felt like it would explode any moment. While I desperately wanted my entire family around me, the sound of their presence was killing me. My mom went in the bathroom to get a bucket of water. She soaked a towel in it and tried to get my head wet. As soon as it touched my head, I immediately wrestled her hands off my head, because now I realized that not only do I excruciatingly HEAR it all, I can also excruciatingly FEEL it all. Everything! The ground beneath my feet, the clothes on my body, the tongue in my mouth, my eyes in their sockets, organs inside my body, everything! I could even perceive the smell of everyone's breath. Everything! As if all this wasn't enough, the visual effects of this experience gradually commenced. Everyone and everything started to slow down gradually every passing minute. I literally thought, "this is it, I'm dying". I kept trying to describe what was happening, but it was as if nobody could hear me. I was trying to grab hold of my dad. They all kept slowing down rapidly until, "woooooosh!", it all hit a turning point! "aaaaaaaarrrrrrgghhhhh!" I closed my eyes and screamed beyond my lungs! When I opened my eyes, suddenly, everything and everyone was so fast. Like 5x faster than what I would consider to be reality's normal speed. Then, they started to slow down a bit, gradually back to normal speed. I cautioned them not to touch me. They didn't listen. My dad and my elder brother held me to make sure I don't hurt myself or run away. They probably thought I was going mental. I started to question my very existence. "Am I dying?", "Is this what death feels like?" I felt so alone and helpless. I noticed that when I say something, it took a few moments for anyone to react to what I've just said. Apparently they started slowing down again. I begged them to let me go, as I wanted to lie down on the bed. They did. This whole time, my temperature had risen to critical heights and I was already drenched in my own sweat. Soaked. I just lay there on the bed and they all started praying. I told everyone to try not to touch me. I still couldn't close my eyes cause I was still seeing very violent images. You may not be aware if you're not from this part of the world, but we usually don't say "I love you" to our families. We show it. But not this day. I had to tell them that I loved them all for the first time in forever. I wasn't sure I would make it till daybreak. We all kept singing and praying for what seemed like 30 minutes. It was the first time I saw my dad cry. My sister couldn't bear seeing me like that, she left the room. I told someone to go call her back, and I noticed no one reacted an inch to my instruction until a few moments later, when everyone turned towards me, almost as if to listen to what I've just said moments ago. [I'm trying really hard not to use any swear words in this article] I was losing my mind. After sometime, everything and everyone stabilized. It all synchronized and returned back to normal. My sight, hearing, taste, smell, touch. I was finally able to relax a bit and I thought it was over. I asked for the time and they said, it's 2am. It's been like 2 hours. I was kinda freaked out, cause the whole thing felt like maybe 45 minutes to me. At that point I didn't even know what to believe anymore, because my sense of time had just been twisted beyond measure. I had no idea what my brain just did to me. I had to change my shirt cause it's soaked with sweat. Then, I tried to get some sleep in the company of my mom and dad as everyone went to their rooms. After like an hour or so, as I lay next to my dad on the bed, it started happening again. I noticed my mom getting faster as she walked around the room. Things are getting loud again. I immediately told them about it. We had to start heading for the hospital, it couldn't wait till morning any longer. My dad changed his clothes and we went downstairs to the car. When I got outside, the sound of power generators from surrounding buildings where ripping through my brain. My mom and elder brother came along. My dad got in the car and I had to caution him not to close the door too loudly. As we drove to the hospital at around 4am, I started feeling everything so intensely again. The collar of my shirt kept touching the back of my neck ever so slightly, causing me severe irritation. Things began to jump into my vision. Trees, people walking, anything. I could even clearly read the LED signs on buildings so far away. Gradully, it looked like my dad was driving at really high speed. I could hear the car engine so loudly and even though I knew it wasn't really happening, it was scary nonetheless. I asked my brother sitting next to me at the back whether we are going fast. He told me "yes". Even though I knew he was lying, it's was comforting to hear him say that. It made me feel like I'm not alone in my suffering. I remember worrying about what daybreak would feel like. If at night time like this, when the world around one is usually quiet, I'm still suffering. The world around me by day time would kill me, I thought. There would be more people, more vehicles, more noise! By the time we got to the hospital, my situation had gotten worse. Since the hospital is a public place, I couldn't tell people to be quiet. Nurses were moving to and fro. Some dragging their feet on the ground. Sound of a baby crying, sound of the fan, the TV, people talking, I was losing it, I started to scream again right there in the hospital. I was immediately rushed to the emergency unit, where my family and some medical staffs had to wrestle me down to give me a shot of something which effectively knocked me out. The next thing I saw when I woke up, it was afternoon, my mom told me they had given me several drips of medication. Everything was back to normal. I had something to eat and asked them what the doctor said was wrong with me, they told me I had been diagnosed of Malaria II and Typhoid II. I'm like, WTF... All that was malaria? WTF! I didn't believe it. I don't think the doctor knew what was going on. After all was said and done, I got discharged the next day. The trauma I felt kept me up at night for weeks after all that. If I had any sleep at all, I kept waking up to the sounds of anything. Things still sounded kinda loud even after the hospital. Took me quite a while to be fully NORMAL. Fast forward to some months later, I was searching the internet for what happened to me. I found a medical phenomenon known as Tachysensia. When I looked up the symptoms, it matched the description of what happened to me. I noticed that it is not yet widely known. So I decided to share my experience online. Hopefully, someone finds this and know that they are not alone.

Apex Quiz App Experience - Supermike's Perspective! And there I was in 2019, on a hot Naija sunday afternoon after church, chilling on my couch playing the mobile game "Millionaire Trivia : TV Game" on my phone. After several failed attempts at answering quiz questions and trying to reach the grand prize, I decided to quit the game. As I sat there staring at my screen, I remember wondering, 'What if this money in the game was real?' I was like, 'charleh..wait o', I actually went to check if there was some kind of quiz app I can make real money from. Hi, my name is Michael, and I love quizzes! I went on Google Play Store, and I found a bunch of quiz apps. Most of them were foreign. After a while, I found a cool one for Nigerian audience, and I decided to download it and give it a go. Once in, I saw that the next live quiz game is set to begin by 9pm that evening. There was a prize pool of like N100k. Apparently by 9pm, everyone was meant to come online and answer a few questions correctly and winners would share the prize. Sharply, I bought 3 coins with N350 and spent 2 coins to join the upcoming session. I started to practice a lot of questions in anticipation for the quiz event. I was so psyched! 'A real life quiz show with real cash on my phone?!..hmm mad o!'. 9pm finally came, and I went on the app to connect to the live quiz event, but unfortunately, I kept getting disconnected from the quiz event, until FIIIAM!!.. I was permanently redirected to the home page where I saw a countdown timer for the next event! Haba! 'which kain rubbish be this?', I thought. So, my money don waste? Well, it seemed so. I went back to the app's page on Play Store, only to be met with tons of negative reviews complaining of the same problem I had just experienced. Just like me, many other users could not even play the game they've paid for. They insisted that they had a strong network connection, so that couldn't have been the issue. Oh well... Fast forward to last week (April 2022), One of my guy (let's call him Osas), forwarded me a message on WhatsApp. It contained an APK file for an app called Apex Quiz. He told me to download it sharply and gave me his referral code. I downloaded the app, installed it, and registered. Furthermore, he sent me a video that shows how to play Apex Quiz and he said 'Bro I know say you go sabi all this kain thing'. Apparently, he is very familiar with my love for quizzes. However, I couldn't help but recall my annoying encounter with one quiz app back in 2019. Osas assured me that this one was completely different in the following ways; * I don't need a strong internet connection to play. * I certainly don't have to wait till a fixed time of the day to play and win real money. Since I initiate my own quiz matches, I can play and earn cash 24/7. * In single mode, I am competing against a score, and in versus mode, I am 1vs1 against another player. Compared to the other quiz app where I had to fiercely compete against thousands of other players at the same time for a prize pool, winning real money in Apex Quiz app is steady, easier, sustainable, and far more inclusive. * What's more? When I refer people to Apex Quiz app using my code, not only do I get 4 'lives' per referral, which can be very useful during a match, I also get paid a percentage of whatever my referrals are winning from the app. Insane! So, I can even sit back, relax, and my referrals will be fetching me cool cash everyday as they play Apex Quiz? Shuuu.. No wonder Osas referred me sharply! Omo! Later on, I eventually bought 3 coins with N360 (where my hand reach..lol), and gave Apex Quiz a fair crack. I tried to play Versus mode, but it seems there was no available players at that time. So, I decided to play Single mode instead. The score to beat was 30.22. The questions were pretty hard. I lost my first match. So, I went to the Practice page and I spent some time practicing a lot of quiz questions. That way, I can become more familiar with the kind of questions I get during a match. Practice mode was really fun. Some questions were very tricky. After a couple of hours of practice, I closed the app. I came back later in the evening to test the new knowledge that I gained in Practice. I spent 1 coin to play another Single Mode match, and surprisingly, I started to come across some questions I saw in Practice mode. This time, I won the N200! Then I decided to give the Versus mode another try. Still no available opponents. I think this is because the app is still new. I went on to win my third attempt at Single Match, bringing my balance to N400. So, this means, I had spent N360 to buy 3 coins, which I used to play 3 games. I lost 1 game (- 1 coin), and won 2 games (+N400). So, all I have to do is win a bit more games than I lose. In fact, I did the math, and I found that in order to be profitable from playing matches in Apex Quiz in the long run, I have to keep my Win Rate above 60%. This was not easy at first, but with consistent practice, I got better with time. One thing I've noticed is that honestly, you can't really win well in Apex Quiz if you don't practice often. So my advise is to practice a lot! You'd thank me later, I promise. And Lo! The best part came when I surpassed the minimum withdrawal amount of N1000 and I decided to withdraw N1500 from my earnings balance. Guys, I'm literally typing this with a smile on my face when I say, the next day I got paid. As in eh, you know that feeling when you're either broke or close to being broke, and one kain credit alert just came knocking? (pics are down below). You have the first 5 seconds to read the question, after which the options appear, and then you have the last 5 seconds to pick the correct answer. The number of points you get from a question depends on how much time (seconds) were left when you picked the 'correct' answer. For example, if 3.98 seconds were remaining when you picked the correct answer to a question, you get 3.98 points from that question. So, you keep trying to accumulate points. I can literally subsidize my coin purchases daily with this income from referrals. Really cool way to get free coins if you ask me. Talk less of those who are really good at this referral thing, they'd be making thousand of Naira daily for as long as the app exists and their referrals are still playing! How To Get Started In Apex Quiz App Getting started in Apex Quiz is very simple. It can be done in 3 easy steps. Step 1 - Go to, w w w . apexquizapp . c o m and download the Apex Quiz APK FIle. Then set your profile image and username, and Save. That's it, you're in! How To Make Money From Apex Quiz App Without further delays, let me introduce you to what is, 'in my eyes', the best quiz app anyone can ever hope for, - Apex Quiz. Apex Quiz is a quiz learning and earning app that anyone can earn money from by answering very interesting quiz questions on a range of topics like Entertainment, Sports, Business, Science, Animals, Tech, History, etc. You can earn money from Apex Quiz in the following ways; * Single Mode : Single Mode costs 1 coin to play. In Single Mode, you have to answer 10 quiz questions as correctly and quickly as possible, to beat a score (currently 30.22). Each question spans 10 seconds. If you can surpass 30.22 points, you'd win N200. * Versus Mode : Versus Mode also costs 1 coin to play. In Versus Mode, you have to answer 10 quiz questions as correctly and 'quickly' as possible, to beat an opponent. Each question spans 10 seconds. You both have the first 5 seconds to read the question, after which the options appear, and then you have the last 5 seconds to pick the correct answer. The number of points you get from a question also depends on how much time (seconds) were left when you picked the 'correct' answer. For example, if 3.98 seconds were remaining when you picked the correct answer to a question, you get 3.98 points from that question. So, you keep trying to accumulate points. If you can finish the match with more points than your opponent, you'd win N200. * Referrals : As you may or may not already know, referring people to Apex Quiz app is absolutely optional, so you don't have to refer anyone if you don't want to. But hear me out. If you don't refer people to Apex Quiz app, you're leaving quite some money on the table here, fam! As I mentioned earlier, each time one of your referrals win N200 from Apex Quiz, you get paid 1% of their winnings (N2). Small amount eh? Wait till you see how cool it gets. If I have say as little as 10 referrals and each of them win maybe just 20 games a day, then (N2 x 20 wins x 10 refs = N400/day). This small amount is already really cool, especially given the fact that the smallest coin package to buy in Apex Quiz is N360 for 3 coins. I can literally subsidize my coin purchases daily with this income from referrals. Really cool way to get free coins if you ask me. Talk less of those who are really good at this referral thing, they'd be making thousand of Naira daily for as long as the app exists and their referrals are still playing! How To Buy Apex Quiz Coins Apex Quiz coins are very nice and affordable. The smallest package is probably less than the cost of your average internet subscription. This makes the barrier of entry for the average person, really low. Even you reading this right now can afford it. Yes, you! Apex Quiz coins can be bought from the Shop page in the app. The following are the costs of Apex Quiz coins; N360 - 3 coins N720 - 6 coins N1800 - 15 coins N3600 - 30 coins N12000 - 100 coins Remember, each coin can potentially win you N200. My kid sister didn't talk till she was 3 years old. 3!!! Fast forward to almost 2 decades later, she is still and has been a quiet girl. She doesn't talk much but wait till she is around people she's comfortable with! Lol! Your child will definitely talk, no problem here. |
hefelove:I too had this problem for almost that long. I went to many places and pastors to the point where I was so embarrassed everytime I have to meet a new one. I had a big fight with my sib and mom. Told them that "I'm done". I knew they meant well for me but I couldn't do it anymore. I employed a new strategy. I would not recommend it for every case though. I completely ignored it. I decided that I was not gonna let this issue hinder my life. I decide to live my life as normally as possible. I cautioned my entire family that they should help me by not looking at me weirdly or even mention the word "bed wetting" around me anymore. I didn't wanna hear it, I didn't wanna think it. I just wanted to move on. I told them not to say things like "this 'your' problem... we have to..." It's not my problem anymore. I drop this load right here and right now. I decided that a problem is my problem if only I believe it was my problem. At that point, I stopped believing it was. Fast forward to a few years later, I am now in full control of my body and mind during sleep. I can wake up well and go to the toilet even in the dead of night to ease my self no problem. I didnt do any check ups or take any more medications from that day... But it wasn't easy though. It didn't stop the first day I made that decision. It took a while. I believe what I did successfully was rewire my brain. I was able to successfully trick my brain to believe I didn't have the problem, after a while, it started to believe it and with time, my body started to respond to this change in my mind. Turned out, mine was a case of severe anxiety. Yours could actually be a medical issue, which can be solved medically, it could also be spiritual, which can be solved spiritually (God). , I can't say for sure. That's why I won't recommend my strategy for every case. But a little positive mindset will definitely go a long way... Trust me. I've been there. Prayer works. Go to God in prayed every night before you sleep. P. S, you don't have to specifically ask God to heal you.... Just talk to God. However, if you're really serious about ending this. Go to Synagogue Church Of All Nations. You're not the first and won't be the last to have this issue solved there. Peace be unto you. |

Seven Seconds by Clint Aribs Episode 1 Darkness covers the air as night beckons upon the land of Verdan, the last surviving of three nations of the Aeon empire. Central activity diminishes slowly as the guard fires can be seen lit from the far North Gate of the capital square. Lord Semper watches on from the high builds of the Verdan castle in anticipation of the Blood Moon Night. The event that had continued to plague the Aeon empire for ages has seen two of the empire's nations plummet. The next seventh moon is just four nights away. For the people of this nation, the urgent need for Ake's presence at this time could not be overemphasized. It's been nine years since the Blood Moon Night had seen it's darkest hour that led to the death of over forty-men Verdani battalion and the then reigning Lord Thallacas II of Verdan and as a result of the delayed response from Ake the spirit knight, a lot of people had lost their lives that night. The presence of sorcery since earlier ages is one that had brought great division between the nations before rise of the plague. What was once a mythical story from the lips of many aged tavern drunks is now relived every seven full moons by the people of Verdan. To some, this remains a mythical itch in the ear. With just four nights to spare, it is imperative to begin the order of fortification in the event that the spirit knight reserves her presence beyond fatal circumstances. However, Lord Semper whose ascension to the throne of Verdan hasn't seen more than six full moons, orders the presence of Lancer, chief of the fort guards. "My Lord, what we face is beyond this realm. From what I have witnessed, I believe it is...", Lancer begins. "Weakness!", Lord Semper cuts in. "I asked you not of your beliefs. Prepare the men. Whatever you believe this plague to be, you shall not let it breach the fort." "Yes, my lord", replied Lancer. His footsteps echoes along the walls of the Great Hall as he turns to take his leave. "Perhaps it is time to see the old man." he thinks, as the hall guards opens the doors to his exit. A sense of urgency chokes the air around him. Lancer lets out a long sigh as he reach outside the fort. Two hours past midnight, he saddles his horse quickly and mounts it. Into the woods, he strutted as a watchtower guard catches him leave. Amongst the outskirts of town, in a cottage. "Are you not getting some shuteye?", asked aunt Martha. "I cannot help but ponder our fate here", replied Carla, an orphan girl whose mother died at her birth and had lost her father over nine years ago. He was one of the forty-men Verdani battalion in the darkest hour of the plague. "Do not fret, child. Ake will surely come forth.", aunt Martha replied. "You sound so sure." "That is because I am. Seventeen, Carla. Seventeen times since the darkest hour I had beheld her unfailing glory. Her staff of light cuts through the air in a whim.", said aunt Martha. "Then, why did she...", Carla continues "I know, child. The spirit realm works in a ways we cannot truly fathom.", aunt Martha cuts in. "I do not know why Ake failed us 9 years ago. However, please be assured that she will rise on that night. Do not fret. It will all be okay, sweetheart. Please, get some sleep. Big day at the haberdashery tomorrow." Carla pulls her blanket higher over her shoulders and shuts her eyes to sleep. Deep in the woods, Lancer approaches a musty hut. He stops his horse and fastened it to a tree nearby. A weak light shun from within the hut. He walks up to the wooden entrance and the door creaks open before he could lay a finger to knock on it. He steps in, turned back to watch the door swing itself shut behind him. "Ugh, the old people's smell!", his thoughts lingered. He glances across the room, briefly observing all the bottles of potions before his eyes met a figure in dark corner of the inner room. "Daiyas?, asked Lancer. "I know why you have come.", said Daiyas as three candles lit up themselves in the room where he stood, revealing the saggy looks in his eyes as he speaks. "Good. So, this should be a brief encounter, old friend.", Lancer continues. "I need some good news." Daiyas gives Lancer a long stare before taking his staff and making his way into the main room. The three lit candles go off as he leaves the inner room. "That which was revealed, I cannot say." said Daiyas. "What does that mean? Will the spirit knight be with us on the fourth night?", asked Lancer. "So many questions, young knight." Daiyas slurred. "Come on, now, old friend. We have not much time." "I'm afraid, that which you seek, ye must see for yourself", Daiyas says as he points to a pottery containing a clear liquid. Lancer slowly walks up to it and peered onto it with his eyes wide open. Whush! went the potion as it gives way to reveal that which was written on the bottom surface of the pottery underneath the potion. "DORSUM NUDUM FERO TUI SCELERIS" "What does this mean?" asked Lancer. "It is of old Latin tongue. Seek the meaning thereof from your literary constituents.", replied Daiyas. "What has this to do with the spirit knight?", asked Lancer as he looks back into the pottery, only to find that the words have disappeared. As Lancer turns his head in awe, he finds Daiyas' body slowly disappearing into thin air. "I'm afraid, I am no longer your bridge to the realm beyond or to your spirit knight. You must make haste, the time is nigh.", replied Daiyas as his voice echoes away as if being detached from this realm and into the other. Taken aback by the sight of Daiyas' strange disappearance, Lancer takes an inkling and wrote down the words as he remembered into a piece of ragged cloth before he quickens his footsteps towards the exit as it flung open itself. He unfastened his horse from the tree, mounts it and rode his way out of woods. Episode 1 End |
