ASUU strike doesn't affect transcript. It is NASU that does.
Hmmm even though its ASUU on strike, the Non Academic Staff of some schools thought it wise to join the strike undecided

Thank you
Trying to contact British council via phone calls, email or any of their social media platforms is a waste of precious time. They are still in the stone age. Its best for you to find time to go there if you can. It will be sorted out on the spot.

hello peeps,
i have worked in three different places(includes internship, NYSC, ist private job) but my current job, i've bin on it since 2007, ie 10years.
in filling my work history for EE, do i need to write all since i have to go to the differnt employers in different states to get reference letters or just filling my current job is ok so i do only one reference from my current employer
You are required to provide your history in the past 10years and your work experience maxes out at 6yrs for FSW. I think its best you just stick with just your current job since that is all that will reflect in your application.

Hello House,
I must say that you all are doing a great job here. I do not think that there is a better consultancy service out there on Express Entry than this forum.
Please I want you all to look into my case.
I am married and was initially planning to be the principal applicant. However, I have checked my CRS score factoring the highest possible IELTS score, additional points from my wife and even the 15 points I can get from my sibling in Canada but my point did not exceed 421 due to my age.
Now, I have checked using my wife as principal applicant because she is less than 29 years of age and she is getting about 446 in CRS score. However, my concerns about her being the main applicant are these:
1. She has a 3 years work experience but it is from teaching. I have checked and there is a NOC A 4031and 4032 for both primary and secondary school teachers but she does not have an education degree , just B.Sc and I don’t know how the VO will view teachers without education qualifications. I have also not come across anyone who is using teaching experience to apply. Is this something to worry about?
2. The school is small private school with no website, professional email( They use gmail). I don’t know how this will affect the application.
3. Her payment is not through the bank but she has a payslip and her salary is small. I don’t know if this will be a problem.
4. For the POF, I will provide the funds. Though I do not have the funds sitting on my account but I have assets that can raise the money for us. Besides, I can also get some gift deed from my dad to support if need be. If I transfer the money to her account, will I be required to show how I got the funds?
5. I have a blood brother in Canada that can give me 15 points. However, I do not know if she can also get the point from my brother as my wife if she is the main applicant. If she can get the point, her CRS will shoot to about 460
6. Can we create different profiles and use each others as spouse so that I can target PNPs since my score is low while she targets the main one. Is this legal? For example, if at the end we both get ITA, we will go with my profile because my work experience is better since I work with a multinational.
Please in this case, should my wife be the principal applicant? Do we stand a chance with her or should I just go with my own profile? Please make una help me ooo
Hello, its best for the person who can attain the most points be the Principal Applicant (PA)
1. Having 3years work experience is fine as long as she can prove it. Her NOC does not need to match her field of study so she is fine on that aspect.

2.As long as its a registered establishment in Nigeria and has a valid address you dont need to worry. The VOs will do what they can to verify that its an existing establishment. You should also do a google search on the school and see what comes up.

3.What she earns is not a problem as long as she is in a paid employment. The fact she has her payslips is a plus for her because CIC requires you that you provide your work reference and payslips if you can get them. So she is fine with that.

4. You will not be required to show where the funds you are providing is coming from. The PA is the one that is required to show POF and explain any unusual large deposit into his/her account. All that will be required from you is a Letter of Explanation (LOE) duly signed by you stating that your are making the funds available to your wife for the purpose of immigrating to canada.

5. Your brother gives her the 15 points irrespective of the fact that you are not the PA.

6. Its best to just stick to one profile not that there is anything wrong with both of you having your individual profile. But once any or both of you gets ITA you'll have to decide who's profile to proceed with. Its best to go through the FSW route if you can instead of the PNP because processing time is faster with FSW and you can settle anywhere you desire upon landing canada as opposed to the PNP route where you will be required to land in the province that nominated you.

In my opinion i think your wife should be the PA as long as she can get her documents together especially her work ref in the format stipulated by CIC. Infact you find that smaller corporations are sometimes more flexible when it comes to giving work ref and payslip oh! These multinationals can have wahala sometimes undecided

All the best bro.

How true is this?
very true my brother, ive heard of two cases where the applicants were banned because the info on their social media page contradicts the information they provided on their application.

First was of a woman who claimed she was single and from her facebook page they found out she was married with kids. It was expressly stated in her GCMS notes. Second one was of a guy that got work ref from his brother's company but his linkedin profile showed he worked elsewhere. This was expressly stated in the ADR sent to him to explain himself.

ehehe.... please oo more clarity on this POF stuff.. do you mean even though the rest of the family is not going you still have to show proof of fund for them? i am clear on the medicals.

my case... married with a daugther but because of the POF stuff, wifey agreed that i apply along. Though i will state that i am married. All things being equal, i can file for them later. i hope am not on a long thing here.
you have to show POF for all your family members whether they are accompanying you or not.

That means mine is very on point then.

There's no mention of the money being equivalent to the POF at all.
If yours is in this format then you are on point.

Your banker's ref doesnt need to say what your balance is equivalent to, i said that because with the exchange rate going up and down i cant categorically say what the POF is in naira. Sorry for any confusion.

A quick one house, this is quite peculiar, I am hopeful for an ITA based on my IELTS scores, other credentials and what I am able to get on CRS calculator, only ECA is delaying my submission, however I have a daughter, though not married(Never married), I will want to include my daughter in my application for EE, the mother is cool with it and we have no custody issue (She's married to someone else), Is it advisable to declare her as a dependant? Won't questions be raised?
Please advise on how best to approach this.
NB: She's 10 yrs old.
I dont see any problem with adding your daughter as a dependent. It will not raise any issue. Infact if you dont add her as a dependant/family member now, it will pose a problem in future if you ever want to file for her to join you in canada. She needs to reflect in your application whether she is going with you or not. You will also need to show POF for family of 2.

I need more clarification on the POF please. Do we have to leave the funds in the account after showing it?? My hubby has this idea that the money is untouchable after showing it.
This POF matter is a bit dicey. People prefer not to touch it just in case they are required to show POF again later on. But if you can replace it as fast as you touch it cool then you can go about your normal business like a boss cool

What is SOA? Is the Banker's ref supposed to state that the balance is equivalent to the required POF? My own letter doesn't make any reference to that but it states my balance and the 6 months average, while in my LOE, I attached the Oando converstion that I used to get the equivalent.
SOA is statement of account.

Below is what is required to be in your banker's ref by CIC.

“The applicant should provide an official letter(s) from one or more financial institutions that lists all current bank and investment accounts as well as outstanding debts, such as credit card debts and loans.

The letter(s) must be printed on the letterhead of the financial institution and must include;
1. the applicant’s name

2.the contact information of the financial institution (address, telephone number and email address)

3.the account numbers

4.the date each account was opened and

5.the current balance of each account as well as the average balance for the past six months”.

So what happens to folks like me that are anti social media? The only social media presence I have is a scanty Facebook profile that has nothing but an alias of my real name. What would they think when nothing comes up for me on LinkedIn, IG and the rest?
LoL!!!! @anti social media. Its just an extra measure they take to confirm the information provided by applicants .

They wont hold it against you if they dont find anything about you on these social media platforms. But for people who are active on these platforms, they need to ensure that their story checks out. I have heard of people who have received ADR and subsequently banned because the info on their application contradicts the info on their social media pages and were not able to clarify the discrepancy to the VO's satisfaction.

Moral of the story guys is that the internet is a double edged sword and it never forgets.

Thank you. We filled 25,000 CAD in our application. Now, money has gone into other things and as much as I would like to just put in the application already, we have to wait till month end for POF to be complete again. The total amount needs to be there right? The wait is tiring!
Do you already have your Banker's reference and SOA stating your balance as the equivalent of $25,000? If you do, i personally think you can go ahead and submit but make sure to top it up at the end of the month just incase they request POF again afterwards. There is really no way for CIC to know what your present balance is without you sending the proof to them.

Good morning guys,

Remember I asked some questions on behalf of my fiancee in the last thread. Someone suggested us getting married first and adding me to his application as a dependant before he submits.

I have a couple of questions please...

1. For my fiancee: Please how does one go about getting a new passport if the old one is lost, especially after ITA has been received? How does one notify CIC and at what point? Note that E-Application will due for submission first week in November.

2. For me: Can i claim points for my NYSC experience? I was posted to a school, but i never went there, I worked elsewhere which is where i am till date, total of 3 yrs in September including the NYSC experience. Can this fly? The company won't have any issue giving me a reference letter saying i worked for 3 yrs(NYSC included). Must my NYSC details be requested for at any point?

3. Which approach is better/faster, more efficient, more everything lol? - We are not sure how quickly we can do court wedding (you know how dramatic parents can be) before the deadline for his application or should we apply separately? I have done my WES and plan to take the belts next month. Is adding me after he submits his application more complicated?

Thanks a lot guys!!!
For question 2, you wont be asked for what you didnt input in your form. So if you are certain that your current employer will give you work reference to cover the period of your nysc, then you are free to put your present work experience as 3yrs.

HOWEVER, YOU HAVE TO ENSURE THAT THIS INFO IS INLINE WITH THE INFORMATION YOU PUT ON ALL YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM, FROM FACEBOOK PROFILE TO LINKEDIN, INSTAGRAM ETC. CIC has been known to get information about applicants through these open source channels.

Cheers and all the best.

Be careful what you wish for...I remember praying for London VO earlier in this process when they were processing PPR like under 6weeks. So I got a response to my enquiry just now, saying my file has been moved from Sydney to London, my heart sank cause right now I hear Accra dey learn for where London dey.

They even said in their response "...please do not send repeat status requests...your cooperation will be appreciated." ... i take it as a subtle threat, so right now make i just dey my lane going forward.

thanks for the response and i can do this under one NOC right?
As long as your duties/responsibilities at that time falls under the same NOC as your present duties, yes you can.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 2 by closetextrovert: 10:33am On Aug 21, 2017
Justiyke4u:
the duties are substantially the same with the primary NOC except going to court and the reference letter titles it as a counsel
You can use it if you can get two reference letters. One for the period of 5 months you worked, outlining what your duties were at that time and the second one stating your present duties/responsibilities. So when you are filing your post Ita form you will input two different work experience. First one will be the for the period of 5 months (stating the day you started and ended it) and the second will be for your present work experience stating the day you started it and that its ongoing. The system will generate two place holders for work experience for you.

Hello all
Am new to this thread and just reading some of the post has proven to add alot of underatanding to the process. God bless u

Pls i will like to ask a few questions just for clarity and would be grateful for answers
1. Since 2015 i have stayed in the UK for about 3months and when i went to america i stayed for another 3months and that was in 2016. Does it mean i have to get pcc from these countries since my travel history will show it?

2. My brother who is also trying out the immigration thingy has been in america for more than they stamped him in? Pls how does this affect his application and probability of selection. Also is it better for him to come back to nigeria so his passport shows he is back?...

Pls i will appreciate every imput i get on these pudding issues
God bless
Hi Ronnie,

No 1 question has been adequately answered.

About question 2, i know that the US does not take over stay likely. Though its not a federal crime, its however considered a civil offense and is grounds for inadmissibility into the US in future. He will definitely be needing the dreaded FBI PCC and with his situation one cant say exactly what the outcome will be.
