Obiedun:
You said hunger caused the looting in Nigeria, what causes this one?
Maybe they feel the government is using their tax money to fund refugees from Ukraine and other places

Someone said there are people who have been living in hotels as refugees from Ukraine ever since the war broke out. And the government pays the bills.

This could be there reason. But does not warrant riots or looting or attacks on refugees

That's the more reason elaborate marriage ceremonies should be done away with if one can't afford it. It's not compulsory really.

Pay her bride price, register the marriage and you both start forging on.

Things are hard. It's a common knowledge. And we want a change asap to the status quo.

But over sentimentalism is a no no for me.
Is marriage registration that cheap?

How about family apartment, feeding etc.? Child care (future plans)?
There's still need for financial security, especially from the man's side in the Nigeria of today

AlexBells:
The military should not compound the problem. Limiting the flow of information could also slow positive information which could bring a situation of prolonged protest or even things going out of control. The protest is currently coordinated. Removing connection may spiral the protest out of coordination and result in protest splinters.
Social media will even cover more

Sadly, they don't have shame again
Kylekent59:
The president, Senate, and House of rep members including the judiciary will be so ashamed right now.

Imagine other presidents in other countries seeing what's happening in Nigeria.

Then when our president goes to the World Summit, he will be so shy because of what's been happening.

That's why they don't like protest and all that.

Imagine you are in the UK, and a lecturer used Nigeria as a case study

Oh

Our president needs to select serious and hardworking ministers; the ones who will see that every process goes well.

Is this just happening?
Because some Nigerians have already participated during this Olympics, and we didn't hears this kind of news. For example,
Table Tennis
Football etc.

Reading the writeup, the management are simply after their pockets and whom they warded contract. for the kits. It's moving towards selfishness from both the Olympic committee and the Ministry of Sport.

Hopefully there won't be issues with the track and field athletes and the management.

Some people may not know one needs Some connections to represent Nigeria in Some of these international competitions.

As an example,
If a 2019 winner of All African games, after losing at the early stages of the same competition in Ghana last year 2023, is being sent to represent Nigeria in the table tennis Olympics. Does it .ean Nigeria does not conduct a national Table tennis competition to send the best out there. Anyways, the guy lost at the preliminary stage again during this Olympics.
