Giving ransom by the government,
Poor ammunitions for the force men and
Government sponsored terrorism for security votes are the main challenges aiding the level of insecurity in Nigeria.
Apart from humiliating unarmed citizens, our soldiers are able to handle insecurity in Nigeria if given the proper welfare and good ammunitions

These are available to them

The question is, are the leaders (military) ready to end this their money-bringing venture?

Okay

Unfortunately that didn't happen

There's reason to remove quota system, different State cut-offs for enrltries to secondary schools, and federal character for employments etc.

Odidigboigbo:
Yes it is, the House of Assembly has oversight function on the LG. Sometime ago, one LG Chairman of my LGA was being disloyal to the then governor and paying allegiance to his godfather that was having issues with the governor. The governor got him suspended through the House of Assembly until his tenor elapsed.

Nigerian constitution truly needs to be revised

Then why take roles that involves kissing scenes

That's her job.
Or will you pay her bills?

Odidigboigbo:
That is a long way to go. The Constitution needs to be amended first. Provided the constitution empowers the House of Assembly to oversee the Local government, the governors will always have their way through the Assemblies.

If this is in the constitution, then it should be amended immediately. Otherwise, there's still no true LG Autonomy

Demurray:
You are right but if the REC conduct the election, sope Otis lo. .
We had experience it in our local government before, in which the incumbent chairman refused to perform and the commuter decided to vote him out as he's contesting for the second term.
On the election day, we voted for another candidate and won when we added results of the wards together even squarely, but when the result were announced by the REC it was the incumbent that won , the governor called him and gave him brown envelope to shut up or else.....
That's how it was swept under the carpet

You mean the guy the people voted sold the mandate for money?
What would have happened if he refused or had gone to the court?

Codes151:
It won’t work unless an independent body conducts the election.

Or electronic transmission of results.
It's easier at LG level. Everybody knows their Ward's result and can easily be added up to know who actually wins

It's a starting point.
Soon, the people will start determining who their chairman will be. Just a matter of time.

Imagine a known and respected person comes out to contest for Chairmanship, and he's in a different party from the Governor's. If the people of his LGA loves him and truly votes for him, it will be a calamity to declare another candidate (Governor's choice) as the LG Chairman.
It's just a matter of time.

Good one. Sending such messages shows we are human, irrespective of ones political stand
