This version of the story is full of lies and written to paint ogechi as a bad girl which she is not. I am also a student of the school and witnessed everything that happened because i also came late to school that very day.

Zianab the headgirl is proud and very full of herself because her father is a senior police officer. She is rude, saucy and wicked. She recently punished a boarding student by locking her out of the dormitory and this student slept outside all night in the cold. She has no mutual respect for her fellow SS3 mates and treats everyone as trash especially the junior students.

Oge and other later comers were asked to go arrange some tables as her punishment for coming late to school. While we were arranging the tables, i saw the headgirl who was supervising the punishment ask Oge to stool down. Oge obeyed. while stooling down, she threatened to slap Oge. Oge told Zianab that she had no right to slap her because she has not done anything wrong. Zainab now slapped and Oge slapped back before Zainab reported to the school authorities who now made Oge a scapegoat.

Oge was made to cut the grass at the back of SS1 block. She did not come to school the next day and some of her friends went to check on her at home. The next day the principal called her friends together and threaten to severely punish anyone who goes to visit her again.

She has missed her mathematics, history, computer and CRK exams and i wonder if our principal would let her write them. The punishment from our teachers in school is too much. Someone please help us.

I have been in your school severally and have seen how your principal treats you girls like eggs I saw a day she was crossed at a teacher for punishing a student and you come here and say the punishment is too much

I am writing to report the physical and emotional abuse to a girl child as a result of punishment meted out to her by her teachers at school. Please see attached pictures.

She was made to strip off her shorts and canned on her bare buttocks and slapped severely by the principal and 5 other teachers because she returned the slap on her face from the head girl who slapped her first. The head girl then reported to the school authorities who in turn physically battered her and then made her cut grass for 4 hours under the sun.

Her name is Ogechi Blessing, she is 14 years old and a SS2 Pupil of Eva Adelaja Girls Secondary School at Bariga in Lagos State. This incident occurred on the 16th of March 2016. The perpetrators of this crime are

a. Mrs. C. O Coker (School Principal) slapped her severally
b. Mr. Bello (Maths Teacher), canned her and slapped her severally
c. Mr. Bakare (Economics Teacher) slapped her severally
d. Mrs. Tejumaye (English Teacher) slapped her severally
e. Mrs Omoge (Civic Education Teacher) slapped her severally
f. Mrs. Balogun (Vice Principal) slapped her severally

The Principal has refused to honor the request from the police officers at Bariga Police Station but instead brought soldiers to intimidate the officers investigating the case.

She has missed out on writing 4 exams since then.
Justice needs to be done for this inhumane act against the girl child.

Our government investigated thoroughly, the truth was revealed and appropriate actions were taken.

Please note that Ogechi is presently a drummer for the school and was Social Prefect for the same school in her JSS3 days. She is a stellar student and recently represented the school in a literary and debating competition in the district. She won the competition for the school

It's unfortunate that the school authorities presented her to be a bad girl from a bad home on social media in order to justify their wrongdoing. She is from a very good home where she was taught to be respectful to elders and authorities and also to stand up for her rights and resist any form of oppression.

It was not difficult for government to find out the truth. Her school records were opened and it was glaring she was an A-Grade student with no prior disciplinary records. Pupils of the school were interviewed at random which uncovered the lies being bandied around by the principal and Brigadier7

everyone says the flogging was much. yeah!! but have we thought of it that the girl could have a sensitive skin
the first report that came out said 4 strokes now it is 12, it also said the principal slapped her now this is saying the principal flogged her
the school did not even raise any case of this on the social media and due actions were taken in the school to inflict corrective measure
the head girl won't just see her and,slap her. have we asked what she did

Nigerians sef keep behaving like they didn't go through proper training in school
if little disciplinary measures like this are stopped in schools then the future of this country is at stack
a girl was flogged and the next thing was that it was on social media,the govt heard about it,took it put and punished those that are working towards the betterment of the nation
those punishing the school authority sef did not try, they should go to a school and be in charge for weeks and see how it feels to keep up with students that are from different homes with different home trainings
why didn't the social media carry the case of the protest by the school students,teachers,non teaching staff and neighbours of the school saying they want their principal and teachers back knowing that the girl wasn't worth it
ppplleeeaasssee let us look into matters well before we judge and stop being one sided because the accuser brought the case to social media first

exactly!!!! this case just seems so unnecessary to me... how can a girl be told to put off her tights to get flogged and the images we see are strokes on her back?
after lot of interrogation and questioning from people from the school I learnt she was flogged in front of the principal office not staffroom of teachers
the girl that they said was hospitalized came to school the next day to write her exams and was able to sit for it
where have thrown discipline to in this country? a girl that slapped the head girl,was rude to her principal while talking to her,the girl that refused to kneel down when asked it and this made her go through the punishment she received...
the soldiers present at the station wasn't from the principal's husband because he isn't into any force
I advise Lagos state to look into the matter justly and look at it from the school's point of view and Ogechi not the people helping her carry the matter their head
